I always wonder if the roles were reversed and it was Jon giving Kate the "love taps" and constantly putting her down would everyone be so glib? Or would they say Jon was abusive. I cringe when I hear Kate say she doesn't understand what happened -I've seen other couples like that and eventually the one being put down usually takes it for a long time and then just has enough and leaves the marriage.

That's what I remember---him joking about liking it and speaking out about it a few times also. Sort of a love/hate kind of thing. And, I don't think he minded as much until he became the butt of the jokes (like on the Soup) and his manliness questioned. Then I think he thought twice about it all.

The whole embarrassing moments show was pretty bad. I also saw Jon as someone who dished it out as well as took it. I do think Kate more and more hateful with some of her comments and I wonder if that is when things started getting really bad for them. It was like, to me, that you could just watch the marriage, love, respect etc. go straight down the tubes.

You know, some day somebody's going to write a book and we'll know when things actually started to fall apart and how bad it got in their house. One would have thought that having 8 toddlers would have been the time when they were most stressed, with the most strain on their marriage. But obviously not. I think you're right about when it went downhill. Whether her behaviour was the result of that or partially the cause of that may be disputed for a very long time.

JMHO, but once respect is gone it's pretty hard to save a marriage under any circumstances.

Jon has been acting like a jerk lately, but I don't ever remember him being mean to Kate. Kate dished out a lot to him--he took it--you can only take so much--he had enough.
Here is Kate traveling around like a jetsetter with her bodyguard and Jon is stuck home with the kids? She misses her kids so much but is gone 5 out of 7 days? Now she wants to control who Jon has around when its his turn for custody of the kids.
Kate loves the media attention. The show is dropping ratings steadily and she will do anything---anything to stay in the news.

When she was traveling she was doing it to earn income for her and her family. I know some people think she didn't need to work because they earn $75,000 per episode but maybe Kate was thinking about the future.. Maybe she thought that realistically the show couldn't go on much longer so she did speaking engagements to earn all she can now before all the opportunities disappeared. Just because she chose to work a lot doesn't mean she lied about missing her kids. What about working parents who have to travel? Do they not miss their kids?

Kate was home with the kids before and from what I understand, her traveling was only for a few months. I'm tired of Jon complaining about being stuck at home. Yes, he might not have liked being a stay at home parent but sometimes you have to make a compromise. For any couple that needs one parent to stay at home, what's wrong with having the parent with more earning power to work while the other stays home? If things changed and Jon had the earning power, Kate can stay home (which she did when he was working as an IT analyst). I'm curious, is Kate evil for traveling for work because she's a woman? Would people have the same perception if it was Jon who did the book tour instead?

Good point. I don't think it would be perceived at all in the same way.

As for whether she had to travel is another issue -- we don't live in the US so I have no idea how much of the $75,000 would be take-home pay, let alone how much of that had to go towards expenses such as bodyguards and PR people. I guess somebody will be leaking that information as soon as the divorce proceedings begin.

One would have thought that having 8 toddlers would have been the time when they were most stressed, with the most strain on their marriage. But obviously not.

I'd bet that when the kids were really young, they were in utter survival mode. There isn't time and energy to worry about this nasty comment or a blow-up that happened earlier in the day. And if I had 8 children, with 6 of them being babies/toddlers, any thought of being on your own would have to be scary as all get out. Boy, I don't think I'd be making too many waves either.

Disney was a bit crowded yesterday, but since we walked on everything up until then..no complants. Free dining can really be a real money saver..more than I thought! Kate would have saved a bundle, if only she had remembered we were goign to be here, and joined us!

Has any information been posted about Jon's grandmother falling in his driveway? I wonder where the photos were of the ambulance coming to the house? I absolutely think that most of the stuff that is plastered on the internet and in the media is very carefully orchestrated. The show is running 24/7 and that is what TLC wants.

The LasVegas stuff happened after her trips. I think that was his way of rebelling against her. Promoting her books?? Have you seen the price they are selling for on internet book sites--under $1.00! Her cookbook might not even be released. She was traveling around doing her speeches and still begging for donations at churches! This family will take whatever they can get.

Exactly. And I'll be curious to see how the PR tactics change over the next few months, especially if Jon stops doing the show. My hope is that he'll fade into the background -- maybe then Kate wouldn't feel obligated to do so many interviews to counteract the bad press that he's getting.

An ambulance responded to an emergency call from the Jon and Kate Gosselin home Saturday afternoon, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.

The call had come in because an elderly woman -- believed to be a relative of Jon's -- took a nasty fall and required medical attention.

"The police were called for EMS assistance," Corporal Todd Glass of the Wernersville, PA Police Department told RadarOnline.com. "An elderly female fell. She was transported to a local hospital."

Jon is on parenting duty this week, and he was at his Wernersville, PA home with the kids, his brother, and other relatives when the incident occurred.

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star went with the ambulance while his brother stayed at the house with the kids.

On September 2, Jon blasted estranged wife Kate Gosselin on Good Morning America for what he called her "abusive" behavior towards him. More of that interview airs on Tuesday

Friends of Jon Gosselin claim the reality-show father of eight is acting more like "The Bachelor" - blowing his earnings from "Jon & Kate Plus 8" on his 23-year-old girlfriend Hailey Glassman and a ritzy lifestyle of high-end restaurants, shopping sprees and a fancy Manhattan pad.

Ex-wife-to-be Kate Gosselin, meanwhile, is said to be playing the role of responsible mom, dutifully saving her end of the $75,000 per episode they each reportedly get from the TLC reality show.

"Kate was the accountant in their family," a friend tells Foxnews.com. "She was in charge of the bank accounts and kept Jon on a tight leash and budget. He got a certain amount of money per week and that was it. Now that he's free of all that control, he's like a kid with play money."

Gosselin, who has also been raking in the dough for pubic appearences at events like a Las Vegas party last week, is also accused of using his fame to score freebies for his kids.

"He uses his 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' connections to get free stuff for the children, and then he pays for big ticket items for Hailey," the insider claims.

Hailey Glassman is getting a major taste of Jon Gosselin's wild side - and she's not sure she likes what she sees, a report from In Touch details this week and it now sounds as if Hailey is playing Kate Gosselin's role of watching Jon flirt with young bikini gals in Sin City. The reality TV dad was spotted living it up at the pool party for the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino’s new club Wet Republic, Jon Gosselin looked more like a carefree bachelor than a separated - and newly in love - father of eight.

He was "Mobbed by young women as he strolled past the pool to his private cabana on August 29," and according to the item, Jon grinned and told reporters, “It looks like we’ll have a good time.”

Jon Gosselin has gone public about why an ambulance was called to his home Saturday afternoon.

As RadarOnline.com confirmed with the Wernersville, PA Police, an "elderly female" was taken to a local hospital from the Gosselin home.

Now Jon has Tweeted about the incident. "My grandmother did in fact fall in my driveway but she'll be fine. Thank you for all the concerned calls."

Before his grand mom took her unfortunate tumble, it was a very different kind of day at Chateau Gosselin. Said the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star:

Apparently everything is not coming up roses for Jon Gosselin these days. Girlfriend Hailey Glassman sent out a Tweet late Saturday night stating, “Sometimes in life if he looks like sh__, acts like a piece of sh__, and smells like sh__, it must be sh__--*Life lesson Learned early on.”

While Jon Gosselin sent out a Tweet around the same time stating, “Family Day!- Kids got to play with their grandparents, great grandparents...so great to see so many generations together ”

However earlier in the day an ambulance was called to the Gosselin home in Wernersville, PA, in response to an elderly women who fell. The women who fell was Jon Gosselin's grandmother who took a spill in the Gosselin's driveway.

Reportedly Kate Gosselin was not home at the time and Jon’s brother followed the ambulance to the hospital.

Jon Gosselin sent out the following message confirming the report stating, “just to clear up any faulty reports: my grandmother did in fact fall in my driveway but she'll fine. Thank you for all of the concerned calls.”

There are no confirmed reports from Jon Gosselin whether in fact he has broken up with girlfriend Hailey Glassman, however one can only speculate who the “he” she was tweeting about.

Wow -- this doesn't read at all like it's coming from Jon's friends. A couple of things I noticed: First, I thought they got $75,000 total for each show, not $75,000 each. And the other thing is, it's interesting how anything can be made to sound like a big deal eg. Jon rents a parking space for his car in NY. Really!

I don't think that otherwise this article is saying anything that hasn't been said before on this thread -- it looks like Jon is spending lots of money, he only got a small allowance when he was living with Kate, and he'll stop making money when the show stops. We're way ahead of these writers.

Does anyone else think that this may be one of the tactics that Kate's team will be using in the divorce proceedings? Why am I not surprised about this?

Sounds like Hailey has a jealous streak -- JMHO, but I think she's probably ticked that Jon decided to take his mother instead of her.

And it's not like anything really sordid happened on the Vegas trip -- there were a lot of bikini clad girls around, but this was in public and his mom was there.
