I don't think she stays there, either. that doesn't seem like a good idea for any of them... and the house isn't that big.

there's something not right with the paps, and I can't put my finger on it. I don't have a clear understanding of how they work, and maybe if I did it would make more sense.

The paps are right outside the house, becoming friendly with Jon and the kids ... they're lurking around in the town ... they catch Jon at all hours of the night & in NYC ...Kate went to NC and they were tracking every move, (especially when Kate was wearing a bikini ) even though this is an area that gets a lot of celebrity visitors and is well known for leaving the celebrities alone...

So, how is it that Kate took trips (with a TLC crew) to Florida and Wyoming and there were no pictures? And how is she able to leave that house and no one knows it?

I think they use the paps. The paps may find you and stalk you (like at the kids b-day party) but at the same time, I think someone lets them in on what they want them to know.

I think back to when Brittany Spears was going through her mess. We saw her every move--no panties, shaving her head, babies not in car seats, etc. but then, all of a sudden, the paps stop following her. Or Lohen. Or Paris Hilton or whoever. I think it is a type of cat and mouse game. It is all very weird.

Please tell us how. My DH does it all the time & it drives me crazy. We work together & he does it when he is thinking. He also says "you know"?

Here's how we learned how to stop those useless fillers. Pick a topic to discuss. Take trees, for example. Then you must talk about trees for a set period of time. You can start out doing it for a minute, then increase the time a minute at a time as you get better.

So I might say: Trees are green. They have leaves. Trees can be tall. I love to sit under a tree for shade.

You just keep on going without saying "um". You have to be aware of the fact that you can't use "um". It's hard at first, but it gets easier.

no idea. someone here pointed out the no tolerance at the school deal, and I've seen it mentioned in an interview somewhere else. I haven't seen it expanded on any further.

the private schools my kids have gone to (and no big "celebrities" there) have all had policies against filming or photographing on campus, and one realy circled the wagons when a family was selected to appear on wife swap. they reissued the policy statement to everyone to eleviate fears among the other families and did a MAJOR sit down with the wife swap family and told them in no uncertain terms what they could and would do if the family facilitated filming of the school/staff/students in any way. the school told them what legal rights they had regarding film crews or the media on their property but they also spelled out specificaly that all students enrolled were at the will of the school and if they learned that any member of the family had "tipped off" anyone of opportunites to film (field trips, events open to the public...) the school was ready to pull the plug on the kids attending.

i think they took their cue from another abc show that filmed in the town next door, the family featured on that lived accross the street from a school and it was a nightmare for their administration and families (and it was'nt international media like with the gosselins just lots of local and bay area coverage).

I thought Kate came across as pretty transparent. She seems to have been humbled by the whole mess. I was never a big Kate fan. But it seems that most people ignore how awful what Jon did/is doing is. You can end a marriage. People would have understood if he had gone for some counseling and then they ended the marriage. But what he did is the weak/wimpy way to go. He left the marriage while still there in a way that is embarrassing to his wife and children. I believe he did things publicly intentionally.
If he had gone for some counseling, ended things with his wife, talked to the kids, moved out and then divorced I would respect him. Then he could gradually begin to quietly as possible date. Maybe there would be a few wild girls at first but he wouldn't introduce his kids to anybody until they were very serious and he knew they would be good around his kids.
Instead he started partying hanging with people he wouldn't in a sane state of mind want his kids raised by and surely knew this would all be very public. He hadn't moved out. I respect Kate because she isn't bad mouthing him. I would think having an interview about this when she knows why it really ended. I doubt Kate changed alot from the time she got pregnant until now Jon knew what he was getting into.

I just watched the interview Kate did this morning and I had to stop when she started talking about Cara and what the little girl was asking her. What parent goes on national tv and airs their dirty laundry and tells the world how her children are feeling and what they are asking her. I would have been so angry if I was a kid and my parents did that to me. I did go through divorce as a child and yes I have turned out alright(at least I think I am close to it.) but if I heard or saw my parents on tv telling the world what I had asked them I would not only have felt betrayed but embarrassed that everyone would know what I said.
These people are sick. I have said all along that this was a train wreck but I could not turn away, well today I am turning away. That women is sick and now Jon is going to go on tv tonight and talk about his love life. Come on people. They are both just so sick and self absored!!! And now Jon has some chick who quit her job and I think she has issues, mental issues, Why in world is she going on tv and doing interviews.
These poor poor kids. I just hope that they have someone in their lives that they can turn to. At least they have each other becuase they sure as h#$$ don't have parents they can turn to.
Ok I am done now, it is just that interview mad me so so mad. I don't think I have ever been that mad at this situation. Kate is a sick sick women and a selfish women and so is Jon. I just can't seem to stop typing about how much I can't stand them. I am going to try.

Totally agree!! Anyone that doesn't realize this interview was a publicity stunt should take the blinders off!!

I understand. It is sick what is happening to those kids. And it just clicks one time, and you get it; and then you can't see anything except how twisted their lives are. You don't see it until you see it, I guess, but then there's no going back until those kids lives are off tv.

If Kate showed an emotion with her husband other than power plays & demands she may still be married.

IMHO the display this morning on the Today show was just a case of "poor me".
The ring story may earn her a nomination for an Academy Award.....

If she is so concerned for her family she would stay off the talk shows, stay out of magazines, go home to PA & try to salvage what she can.

I just don't understand how they can say everything they do is for their kids. How can you betray your child and tell the world the things they say and their private feelings, that is not doing everything for your kid unless you are trying to damage your kid. I have defended them each in defferent ways but there is no defending them now and I am not sure how anyone can. Neither one of them are good parents, they are not even ok parents, they are both very bad bad parents, no they are not beating their kids or anything like that but what they are doing is damaging enough. Kate may think that Jon is the only one hurting the kids but she is hurting them also by doing these unneccessary interviews. There was nothing for her to promote on the Today Show. She just went on there to air her dirty laundry. SICK SICK SICK.

Toxic together toxic apart.

I feel nothing bust disgust when I think of Kate. She was a loud mouthed, disrespectful, degrading wife. Her actions, her OCD behavior, her demands and her treatment of Jon - of which she said herself she makes no apologies for - was horrible for those kids to watch. She is now trying to cry wolf and play the innocent victim who meant her vows during the renewal. Her actions after the breakup are going to harm those kids just as much because as much as she might think she's taking the high road - every time she talks about her provate life in public she is crossing a line she should not be crossing.

Jon before was a wuss who should have stood up to his wife, put her in her place and should have demanded she treat him with respect. Now he like a caged animal that has been let free - which I can understand to a point - but when you have 8 kids and live a very public life discretion would be in order right about now. You waited 10 years what's another year or at least a few months?

Fact is IMO those kids were doomed from the day their parents started to see $$ when they looked at them. Unless Jon and Kate start both behaving like responsible parents then those kids are just on a terrifying downward spiral.
