Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread-Part 3

To me if Kevin and Jody wanted to "help the kids" then they would have given their story to a reputable source, something other than Star magazine. Next week Star magazine will be saying that Kate had an affair with Bigfoot and that Jon had one with an alien from Mars.

I've wondered this about Aunt Jodi for a long time. I don't doubt that she's right, but I think her motivation is off as well. If they really didn't think that those kids should be in the show it wouldn't have taken KATE telling them to leave to start talking and getting that message out there...they were fine with it when TLC was talking about giving them money. I also think they should have gone to a reputable magazine or show, even OK would have been a better choice. But ya, the message probably totally accurate, I just don't think that Aunt Jodi is a saint in this either; just better than J&K. Those poor kids, nobody in there life has been there without the opportunity to make money from them.

And that list of freebies, omg all we've been watching the past few years is a product placement show. I had no idea that every little thing they did in all those episodes was paid by somebody else...the freaking carpet??? It's crazy.

I used to really like this show, I used to like them, but now I really don't. Even in the early years when they were "struggling" they really weren't...everything was free. Then to see the recent developments where John clearly doesn't want to do the show but is giving into Kate it's just a bizarre dynamic. There is nothing in the world that would force somebody with a backbone to be on TV. That is just an entire family of sell outs pretending to be something they aren't.

And those kids might be innocent now, but they will have the WORST role models in terms of hard work etc...basically the message they've gotten is it's okay to pretend to be something you aren't for money, okay to throw your loved ones under the bus for money, okay to ask for free things when you can clearly afford them, the only gifts you give are the ones you didn't even pay for, and it's okay to sacrifice your marriage for money. Ya they are going to be outstanding adults.

Man oh man, can't even take one week off. Here are photos of Kate and her bodyguard "Mr. Grey" (I love that nickname, sorry!) today in Baltimore. I guess she really will be in Detroit this week.

I guess these were taken yesterday...so how much time did she spend with her kids? We know she was running all over town on Sunday and Monday, flying yesterday. So sad.

She looks like a prostitute in these pics. 9- inch heels, stupid trashy tatoo, skirt so short I'm surprised the money grubber isn't selling advertising space on her thighs, orangy spray tan, and of course the HAIR! Gee, she is just so motherly! (NOT!) Has anyone seen her with her kids in months?

I did not realize Kate has a tatoo. These pics really give a good look at her hair, I did not realize how little patch of hair she has spiked. Before this close up I did not really mind her hair, but now I think she could do better. In the one pic she has her hand up by her head, I wonder if she really is trying to give the photographer the "bird". It is obvious she knows they were taking her picture.

Wow - those pics are so bizarre. So opposite to that Kate that Jon had to take shopping and help her pick out clothes. Well, maybe she still needs help picking out clothes, because that outfit was not good.

Oh, and I wish one of the kids would snip the front of her ridiculous hair off while she sleeps. Maybe, Mady?

Does anyone else feel Kate is more like Octomom than we've ever thought? She's simply cashing in on her kids (and her relationship) for her own fortune and fame. They were barely married before the twins arrived, then pushed to have 6 more? And how come it's always Kate on the cover of every magazine, giving interviews and never Jon? He may be stupid and not great at sneaking around, but at least he's trying to keep this all private, while she's dialing up People every chance she gets to give them the latest update.

We must be looking at different pictures. 9 inch heels? I see her in heeled sandals and a denim skirt, with a nice blourse and a jacket covering her top, just like many other people dress her age. The hair is the same cut she's had for a long time..back when we used to like her. She doens't look motherly? LOL..what does motherly look like? That's too funny. Tlaking trash about her sounds just like the rag mags. Especially when there is nothign wrong with what she has on. Go into any office and that is what 30 somethings look like.

We also have no idea how much time she spent with her kids. It would make a very poor story, even if the kids were right next to her, to have them in the picture. We don't know if they were in school, home napping..no idea, but she's a bad person because they aren't with her on her many trips running around (which in reality might be one trip to town, to pick up something and back home). Yep, all of us here on the Diz spend every waking moment with our children. None of us travel for work (of course none of write books either and out pushing the book is usually part of the contract), none of us do anything that we might think will help our children's future (right or wrong, in our minds..I'm sure right in hers).

We all absolutely know these kids are going to grow up and be awful teenagers, because their parents taught them that everything they want is there for the taking. Yep, we all know that. That's because we have seen so many shows in the past just like this, where every child turned out to be a druggie. Yep, we know that. None of the other reality family's are doing placement..yeah, right. No spaghetti sauce for the other people, no free special stroller, no help from the friends and neighbors. Nope, the other kids will all turn out ok.

Pictures of her with her bodyguard. How strange is that. I guess we aren't supposed to be able to see her body guard. Or better she should go out by herself and be driven into a wall, as she tries to outrun all these trash magazines.

And Jon..yes, he wanted to quit..we could tell that by the 6 words he spoke. He didn't want anymore of the money or the beautiful house. I see that he went right out and tried to get himself hired again..good luck with that after he lied about why he was fired from the last job. Or, perhaps it was publicity to get us all taking. How the heck do we know?

How do we know any of this. Like I said, I wonder if they would have made it even if they didn't have this show.

Let all of us without any problems in our lives or the lives of our children, step up and throw the first stones out (and you have to have gone through all the teen years with at least one girl and one boy, before you can throw that stone).

I assume her mouth is open in the pictures because the rag mags are throwing questions out to her..and she is saying..no comment, or we are doing the best we can.

One suitcase? Is that supposed to mean something now, too? Maybe she checked hers. Boy, I can't believe some of you. Why not rip her to shreads.

Kate doesn't look trashy, but oh I wish she would cut her hair.

This is just another case of greed ruining a marriage. I'm sure at first this sounded like a wonderful idea..."let them tape us for a special and earn a few extra bucks for our family" Then the show got picked up and from there it was down hill. As you watch the seasons you can see their marriage fall apart it was only time until one or both of them cheated. Kate turned into a money hungry monster who started to see her children as cash cows. Jon lost his manhood. The children are growing up thinking having a video camera with producers and craft service as normal. Jon CLEARLY stated at the end of last season that he did not want to continue with the show but Kate wasn't hearing that. She is now busy running around the country promoting HER book. She should be home trying to fix her marriage. Remeber the vacation they took for Jons 30th birthday to "be alone"? Dang they still had cameras! I would of been like "sorry we really just need this time for ourselves". Kate loves the cameras and all the attention. If Jon is cheating on her, I truely beleive Kate doesn't care all that much because it's bringing more spotlight to her. OH poor Kate left home with 8 children while Jon is out with a 23 year old. Please the nanny was with the children while she was in NY promting her book while "with" her bodygaurd(if the rumors are true). Many marriages fall apart, children are involved, I just fell bad that those children have to see their parents faces on magazine covers airing their dirty laundry. Maybe Jon and Kate, if they cared even a little, would think of their children first for once and not their bank account or how many magazine covers or tv shows they can get on.

There is the possibility that Kate doesn't want to spend time with them. It's clear she is on a mission to continue the marketing of the Kate Gosselin brand. That is what seems to be Kate's focus right now and nothing else.

FWIW, I'm glad they're (mostly) keeping the kids away from any and all opportunities for pictures right now. This has nothing to do with them. They did not ask to be born into this circus.

I think a lot of it has to do with how we saw Kate in the beginning. She was so simple and down to earth in her appearance. Those pictures show a very different Kate.

I dont know for sure that her kids will be awful teenagers but they will be teenagers...even if they are typical. I think most of us realize what that means....even if we haven't raised one ourselves...of either sex.

As for other reality shows...check the thread title...this IS about jon&kate...therefore they are the ones being talked about here.

As a mother of a soon to be 3 year old...no I am not with my child ALL the time. However I don't tell anyone I'm a stay at home mother. I work outside the home for 8 hours and then go home and work there as a mother/wife.

Since I have no idea where the money is going, I wouldn't be able to say that. For all I know, it's being banked for the kids future. Do you know something I don't? I don't exactly see the fame. I see her out pushing a book, and giving speaches about raising a family. Many other celebrities have done the same. Usually they are male, so that seems to be OK..if they are away during the book release.
She must be home some of the time, if they are in the middle of taping. I am glad they have a house that protects the kids somewhat, and she seems to be keeping them protected at home. Of course those long range lenses can still capture some, as they did with Jon and his friends.

At this point I don't think she has an option. She made her bed -- expensive taste, freebies forever, and what I'm sure is an astronomical mortgage for the new house they HAD to have. She stops marketing herself and her and Jon divorce, how will they pay their obligations? I'm sure they couldn't afford that mortgage without the huge amount of money they get from the show. And they'd actually have to start paying for things instead of getting everything for free. If this cash cow up and dies, there will be a foreclosure real soon and then what? Seems like there's a very good reason why all their family stays far, very far away from them.

Yet another example, in my opinion, of someone prostituting themselves and their family for the almighty dollar.

Umm, no. I'm 30 and know a ton of 30 somethings. We dress better than that. I guess the skirt and shoes are fine. But the top and jacket are a weird combo and the hair, my God, the hair! DH calls it the b**** spike.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember seeing numerous posts on here saying that there was no excuse for Jon to cheat. But there's no need to paint Kate as an innocent victim. Jon's cheating doesn't automatically make her a saint.

Well, that's one of her problems. In her warped view she may think this is helping her kids. But the thing they probably need most in this trying time is their mother and father.

As a friend of mine likes to say, I don't need to eat s**t to know it tastes bad. And most of us here don't need to have raised a girl and boy past teen years to know dysfunctional when we see it.
