I'm very interested in TLC's perspective. They jumped pretty quickly (if I recall correctly) during the last incident, but I haven't seen anything from them yet this time. I'm not seeking out info though, I never do. I tend to rely on what is brought to this thread.

did TLC do anything? I don't remember that they issued a statement, etc ... so I either missed it or it had no impact on me. LOL. All I remember is TLC's hype before the last show.

I'm curious about TLC and Zondervan.

Ok, so if Jon is 32, and mystery chick is 23, how the hell did he meet her? I'm 37 and most of my friends are around my age +/- 2-3 years. Actually come to think of it I don't think I have any friends that are younger than me, nor does my DH. Certainly not 9 to 10 years younger! If Jon were my husband he'd better get out of town real fast or there could be blood!

I don't about anyone else but if a 23 year old girl showed up at my house to take my husband out to bars late at night I don't think I would see this as being something innocent. This is just crazy. Maybe nothing has happened yet but I am sure it would eventually lead to something. A married man has no business hanging out at bars with 20 year olds. If he wants to go to bars then it should be with his wife and/or his buddies. Not single college girls.

I totally agree. Where did he meet her? My friends are also my age 36 or even older. I don't have ANY friends who are 23. Heck, my little brother is 23! My DH's friends are again, all our age and married except for the occassional bachelor and even then, they're our age. Weird to be hanging out with a 23 year old girl when you're married.

Yup, my DH has NO business hanging out at the bar with a 23 year old girl. If he goes, it's with his best friend or a group of friends who are all our age or older and nearly all of them are married. I just can't imagine Kate knowing about this new friend of Jon's either.

Of course people are saying that well, if YOU had to live with Kate then you'd be doing the same thing. That is not a license to cheat or whatever it is he's doing. However, I really do think Jon did this on purpose (whether consciously or unconsciously) to get caught and throw it in Kate's face. Maybe it really is his way of saying he's fed up with her, the kids, the show and his life. He has a very passive aggressive nature so this would make sense to me. Of course I'm just speculating and we'll never know for sure until they split or address the scandal together like they did with the other bar scandal back in February.

Most of my parent friends are older than I am (aka parents of DS's friends) by 5-10 years. Not that it's the same situation but just putting that out there. My friends from college are 3+ years older. I always made friends with older people. Although, I've been listening to Frank Sinatra since I was 12, though. I loved Billie Holiday when everyone else my age was into Britney. I was a 6th grader who loved to stop in antique shops. I'm an old soul, I suppose.

According to Hummel, she met Gosselin through a mutual pal a couple of months ago. Since then, the two have been hanging out – as part of a group of friends, not as couple. The social outings have included visits to each other's houses and nights out on the town, but always with others there, and it's always all innocent, according to Hummel.

"We just talk and socialize, the normal things you do when you see friends," says Hummel.

Hummel admits that the two did show up at Legends Bar in Reading, Pa., recently, but says a published photo of her driving Gosselin's car has been misinterpreted. "He just got this new car and I wanted to drive it. I'm into cars," she says. "We all have guy and girl friends. Because of who he is, it gets portrayed the wrong way, and it's unfair to him and his family

Jon & Kate Gosselin have PR representation, and this is what's getting released to the media? this is as bad, if not worse, that Jon's "apology".

I don't know if Jon doesn't care, if the PR people are only representing Kate or what .. but I can't believe TLC is ok with this.

As much as Kate is a shrew, Jon would absolutely drive me nuts! He has always seemed to be a reluctant adult. He clearly wants to be young and hip, not a dad of 8. Heck, even with the kids he wants to be "fun dad". Of course Kate is a shrew, she has to parent a grown man!

Agree. Jon sure doesn't want to be a dad, but he likes the amenities of being this dad.

I can understand that. Some of our closest friends are at least 10 years older than we are.

Where age is interesting in my life is how old I am in relation to the ages of my kids friend's parents. I turned 41 last week - my oldest DS is 19, and freshman in college. Many of his friends are the youngest child in their family, and the parents are closer (one way or the other) to 50, so I'm very young compared to them. My middle son is 13, and I'm fairly close to the same age as most of his friend's parents. My youngest DD is 7. There is a 26 year old mom of a daughter in DD's dance class... mom had no idea Marie Osmond had a career before Dancing With the Stars.

So I can agree that the age of friendship isn't necessarily an issue .. but in the case of Jon Gosselin, I don't believe this is a platonic situation.

No. I believe the non-nanny helper is Vietnamese. Jon mentioned that in an interview at Penn State in February. Although it's now May, no idea if that person is still employed by the Gosselins.

Surely it's not the non-Nanny. THEN who would be watching the children?

Alirght....couple of my thoughts.

*No wedding ring - I personally didn't see this as a big deal. I take mine off when I'm cooking and forget to put it back on until I go to play with it during the day (weird habit but gives me something to do while I'm on the phone twirling my ring or something....). DH generallly doesn't wear his ring because he can't at work for risk of loosing his hand if it gets caught on something. Doesn't mean we're not married...just means I don't have a ring on. Honestly, I forget mine so often I don't even have a tan line from the rings being there so you wouldn't know it was missing if I didn't have it on. What about the people who can't afford a ring? Doesn't mean they're not committed to each other....other things were more financially important to them. Can't blame them for that choice. Is it smart to go out as a public figure without your ring on? Probably but I don't see it as the end of the world honestly.

*Young girl - Again, not a smart move as a public figure. I think it's ok to go out to dinner or whatever with a friend of the opposite sex. Not a big deal. AT 2 am in a bar...not a good plan Stanley. Many of our friends are older than DH and myself. I'll be 28 this year and one couple we're friends with will be 41 this year - that's a pretty big difference in my opinion but it works for us. I've always gravitated to "older" groups - maybe because I had to grow up so quickly when I was younger?? Who knows.

*Excuses - I think the excuses are getting a bit far fetched. If you're "into cars" wouldn't you want to be able to actually SEE the car like in the daylight??? That would make sense to me. If you're over at his house, you haven't already seen the car??? If you're that into cars, go to the dealership and test drive one for pete sakes. It just doesn't sit well with me at all...something's not quite right there.

I would love to see the family just sit down and be honest - at least with themselves. They've made choices that I believe I would not make if I were in that situation but they're in the middle of it and need to sit down and hash this out among themselves to be sure everyone can come to some kind of agreement from here on out.

As for if the "friend" is the Nanny - I thought the nanny was Korean or Vietnamese or something like that. This couldn't be her correct??

If Jon's out looking for friends, I'd love to meet them! Both him and Kate....I'd invite them over in a minute. Maybe TLC could have a contest to win an evening with the Gosselins. I'd register for that one!

When is Kate on the Today Show this week? I flipped through the book at Walmart the other night and was NOT impressed. Can't say I'd purchase the book personally.

Ya'll may think I'm crazy, and I've never seen anyone else post on this anywhere, but I always wondered about Jenny, the helper who went with the Gosselins on all of their trips and helped dress and feed the children.

I know she was really young, but something always struck me as odd with her. It was almost like I could see an attraction there with her and Jon. Maybe I just imagined I saw it, but I certainly thought I did. Then she just kind of disappeared. It made me curious as to how Kate felt about her and if she maybe noticed anything, also.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, as well.

I agree 100%. Just because Kate is difficult to live with doesn't mean that this is the way to handle that problem. I bet that it is his way of making Kate realize how unhappy he is.

I watched a rerun last nite and they had Jenny helping them at a Beach home and painting with pudding. I never saw this episode before, but it must have been last summer, since the tups were 4.

Anyways, after the show, TLC did a big "Summer promotion" commercial. It was a catchy tune, showing an Ice Cream truck, with 4 posters of shows that will be airing this summer, starting May 25. The first show was J&K8, the new couple that is "small people", something about Cakes and I can't remember the other one. So TLC at this point is continuing with the show.

Ha, ha! Kate looks seriously skinny and seriously mad. But then, she kind of always has that "I just stepped in poo" look on her face these days. Who knows?

I don't think there was ever anything between Jon and Jenny. Last year, when I first started following Jon and Kate, there were a LOT of comments about Jon's Facebook page. It was full of college-aged girls. The Sheeple always defended it, saying that they were all fans. I'm sure they were. but I thought it was weird. Apparently, Jon was a pretty active participant on Facebook then, as well as other message boards. Of course, a year later, all that stuff has been removed... but there used to be a lot of chatter about it. I'm sure it's archived in GWoP older entries.
