Yup, it all sounds a little rehearsed to have these friends come out of the woodwork and defend their best friend Jon. I find it hard to believe. He got caught, he knows he's in deep poop and is scrambling to make it all ok. I still can't believe the lame excuse....Uh, my young 20 something female friend who I was out at 2am with wanted to see my new car so I let her drive it to her car. But hey, if the bouncer from the bar he was at says it was innocent, then ok! Totally unacceptable, he shouldn't be out at 2am with a woman who isn't his wife.

How come we never see pictures of Jon with his "guy" friends? They could include him going out on a TLC episode.

Want to place bets that we see this very thing in the new season?

he needs to sell crazy somewhere else. I'm all stocked up here.

I don't buy it. Not even a little bit. Where have all these friends been before now? And it's NOT ok for him to be hanging out with a woman, who isn't his wife, at 11:00pm when his wife is out of town.

Sure, it seems a little convenient right now, but it would seem a little convenient at any time (regarding Jodi/Beth, Jon, etc.). We saw the same thing with charity work, more at-home time, extended family, etc.

The bouncer from the bar says:
"He always has his wedding band on. He talks about his kids all the time. He loves his family."
hmmm... always? all the time? How often is Jon hanging out there? And if he was going to see the bar owner at 11pm, why not quote the owner?

The bouncer also says
even though he did show up with a woman who was not his wife.
According to Us Weekly,
"I went to Legends to speak to the owner. A friend of mine wanted to check out my car, so I let her drive it to her car," he says. "Yes, I have female friends -- but that is all she is. I'm not going to end my friendships just because I'm on TV."

While that doesn't say that Jon showed up alone, it does sort of seem like he's trying to say he went there on his own and saw the friend who wanted to drive the car.

Dude! Can you say BUSTED?? Wow, that "female" friend looks young! I thought the part where they listed all of the reality married couples who are now divorced was very interesting too! I've said it before and I'll say it again, what the heck was he thinking?!?!

Hmmm, so they made their scheduled appearance then. I wonder how tense they looked. I read that Kate did most of the talking and they didn't address the scandal. The whole thing is just too flippin' weird now. Relationships are hard enough with a normal amount of kids (ie: not 6 at once) but to add the pressure of being filmed and having your lives scrutinized? I couldn't handle that kind of pressure and it sure seems like Jon can't either. On the flip side, I bet TLC is loooooving all this free press. When does the new season start?

the speaking engagement here was the first one after the last tabloid scandal. Kate didn't address it then, either.

New season starts May 25. The Us Weekly article had pictures of Jon and the crew working on an episode on April 22 ... after the night out took place.

I know it's off topic and others have mentioned that older kids aren't as cute- but I really like the Table for 12 show. We just watched a few episodes and they seem much more "real" than J+K ever did.
I also think the big "scandal" is all promotional- it's being so overhyped... since nothing really happened- no divorce papers were served, no mug shots were taken...

Sorry it took me so long to get these up for you guys. Here are some pictures from when Food Network was here filming a pilot for a new potential series:

Now I don't know how J&K roll, but here, we had to have the air set at 52 degrees to cool everything off (I was honestly amazed at how hot the lights were). The air could not be on while they were filming because of the noise. There were massive amounts of equipment and lighting and props and everything else brought in just for the filming (now we know there are product placements with J&K but I don't know what else).

So, that's a little "behind the scenes" look at the filming for a 10 minute show that they were here over 8 hours to film!

I quit watching Jon and Kate over a month ago because I just don't like her anymore. She doesn't seem "real" anymore and too be honest I think she is exploiting her children for money. All I was seeing in her eyes were $$ and I think she is selfish. Does anyone EVER see any other family member at their house or even in the show for that matter?

As for the new show Table for 12. I agree with a pp, this show is more real then J + K ever was.

Now, with the newest "Jon Scandal" I betcha all of those viewers who have tuned out will be tuned it to see if there is any obvious tension between the two or to see if this will be addressed on the show.

If it is a publicity stunt, its working, but I doubt that it is a stunt. I really do think that Jon is out late at night partying it up and I can't judge him b/c I don't know him, but my opinion is that he and Kate are still together, but not together, if you know what I mean.

I have to agree Kate's not terribly relatable these days - at least to me. I'm sure there are moms out there who travel a lot like she does who are jumping up and down to see someone on tv "like them". That's just not me so it's hard to relate to that aspect. I do tune in to see what's going to happen (and the kids are cute!).

I think the latest "scandals" along with the season finale from the last season will bring some viewers to the first couple of episodes of the new season. I know I will be tuning in just to see what's up.

I don't think this is a publicity stunt personally. I would like to think Jon's really smarter than this. I mean seriously....you can't tell me he didn't think this might look "bad" - especially after what happened a couple of months ago?? I understand he wants a "normal" life but that's not a choice for him right now. People recognize him and he needs to be aware of that. Even if I were to go out to the bar, leave with another man and think no one would think anything of it, I'd be crazy! Everyone I work with would know by Monday morning. And no amount of "he was just a friend" would put that to rest! Granted that's on a much smaller scale but I have enough sense to know that I shouldn't do things like that.

As for the friends who have magically appeared, where did they come from? How come they're all of a sudden coming out? Where have they been all along? How come they didn't say how great he was last time this happened??? Yes I'm one of "those" who's been wanting friends and family to step forward but it sounds too scripted for me so I guess yes poor Jon's damned because they spoke for him and I'd still be wondering if they wouldn't have spoken. Maybe it's because I expect more from friends/family - tell me something non - generic, something to "prove" you're really a friend, not just someone People ran into and had met Jon in passing (I'm sure People checks their sources - I'm sure they do. It was just an example!). I would like to think my friends/family would be jumping up and down screaming that I wouldn't do something like this, talk about my family, how much time they spend with me, whatever. And maybe the friends did say more and People cut it out. That's an option too. We all know how that editing works! All I'm saying is it's just a little too fishy for my liking....

Hope this doesn't turn out like the Kathie Lee Gifford thing - where she defended Frank to the hilt until the videos came out..

This type of publicity is not good for the kids - especially Maddie and Cara - regardless of whether it's true or not.. I think it's time to pull the plug on this show - for the sake of the children.. Kate and Jon have certainly made enough money off of all of this.. It's time to put a stop to it - put their children first - and get out of the spotlight..
