This type of publicity is not good for the kids - especially Maddie and Cara - regardless of whether it's true or not.. I think it's time to pull the plug on this show - for the sake of the children.. Kate and Jon have certainly made enough money off of all of this.. It's time to put a stop to it - put their children first - and get out of the spotlight..

I agree, for the kids sake, it's time to end it. Kate said at a recent speaking engagement that she would do the show as long as she was breathing. I hope this recent scandal opens her eyes a little.

On a different note, Kate is coming to the Metro Detroit area. In this weeks Metro Parent magazine they interviewed her (they are hosting her) and one of the topics they said she is going to talk about is "How to maintain a stress free home". I guess they have never watched the show.

I don't buy it. Not even a little bit. Where have all these friends been before now? And it's NOT ok for him to be hanging out with a woman, who isn't his wife, at 11:00pm when his wife is out of town.

I really feel bad for Mady and Cara about now....especially when I saw J&K on the cover of a magazine at the grocery store. Poor things...

I agree, she doesn't seem real anymore. None of them do, honestly. But, I just can't seem to quit watching. I want to, but I keep coming back to satisfy my curiosity of "What will Kate say tonight? What will Jon NOT say tonight?"

Now, with the newest "Jon Scandal" I betcha all of those viewers who have tuned out will be tuned it to see if there is any obvious tension between the two or to see if this will be addressed on the show.

If it is a publicity stunt, its working, but I doubt that it is a stunt. I really do think that Jon is out late at night partying it up and I can't judge him b/c I don't know him, but my opinion is that he and Kate are still together, but not together, if you know what I mean.

I'm in the same boat. I used to LOVE the show but now it's hard to watch. Yet I still tune in! I don't think all this new drama is a publicity stunt though. Honestly I would be beyond furious if my DH was out at 2am at a bar with a younger woman without his wedding ring! But to have it plastered all over the internet too? I'd probably burst a blood vessel!

That's exactly how I feel. Stop the money machine and look at those kids you've been blessed with. They deserve J&K's time and care. I'm concerned too for Cara and Mady. I guess they'd better not to into any grocery stores any time soon with all the tabloids at check-out! That would be truly awful for them to see.

Geez, did Kate really say that? What a fool then. I hope too that this whole fiasco with Jon opens her eyes WIDE! They both need a little dose of reality. The sad part is that I really believe they both love their kids but the lure of fame and fortune is apparently too tempting.

How to run a stress free home? That is funny!!! Let's see, first invite a whole production crew into your lives, allow your family to be filmed most days of the week, allow the footage to be aired, write a scrapbook with your kids pictures all over it and sell it and then travel all over the country to promote it! Sounds relaxing to me! Not!

If they do not stop filming, I definitely think the marriage will end. I'm not so sure it can be fixed now. What a terrible place to be in right now.

I would not be happy if my DH was "hanging out" with a 23 year old. They met through a mutual pal? Sounds like what you do when you're single. That's just unacceptable. She's single too. Jon & Kate Gosselin have PR representation, and this is what's getting released to the media? this is as bad, if not worse, that Jon's "apology".

I don't know if Jon doesn't care, if the PR people are only representing Kate or what .. but I can't believe TLC is ok with this.

After seeing this recent picture I agree. I would "stop on the spot" as the THomas the Tank book read.
Jon pushed it to this as Kate would not STOP. he decided with out thinking of the effect on the family only his self motivating needs to have out and anonymity again....

One thing he forgot is that when the show goes as do his perks and he may be downsizing and needing a real job to support his family.

But after seeing this picture; I don't even have a desire for the new series, if it phased out into the dead show oblivium.
Stop, take care of their family and get the cameras out of the house.

That's what I was thinking, who the heck is their PR person and what are they thinking?? Maybe you're right and they ARE only representing Kate now because Jon's apology was soooo lame. And now the 23 year old mystery woman's is even worse. I'm sure TLC is starting to sweat now with this new scandal. How terrible that J&K have let themselves get to this point.

What's ulitmately sad as so many here have said, the children are going to suffer for all of it. Their little lives have been televised for so long, they probably think all kids their age have tv cameras in their houses all the time. Now they might have to deal with seperated or divorced parents. Cara and Mady are definitely old enough to understand all of this so I just hope J&K get their act together. My heart really breaks for all of the kids.

Maybe you are right. Maybe this is the way Jon sees for it to stop. Sort of a self-sabotage.
And, if they divorce and the shows stops, he'll have a heck of a lot of child support to pay, that's for sure. Bad thing is, I don't think he can do it. I don't think he has the get up and go to take care of his family in the traditional way. I think that is why Kate consistantly nags him and pushes him. Nothing will really get done unless she's pushing. JMO.

I'm very interested in TLC's perspective. They jumped pretty quickly (if I recall correctly) during the last incident, but I haven't seen anything from them yet this time. I'm not seeking out info though, I never do. I tend to rely on what is brought to this thread.

Exactly! What a good point, is this girl friends with Kate as well? And what could she as a single 23 year old have in common with J&K anyway? Weird. It is interesting that Kate is out promoting a book with Bible verses scattered throughout and Jon is behaving the way he is. Isn't her Dad a pastor or something?

Ya, you're probably right. Kate is always nagging him and it must be because that's the only way to light a fire under the man! I can't imagine what kind of job he'd get that could pay for 8 kid's child support!

Probably true but I don't think it's a publicity stunt. Jon got caught red-handed. But it has sure generated alot of interest in them so I'm betting the ratings will be through the roof! I think still TLC is sweating though since this is their BIGGEST show and if J&K split or decide to pull out of their contract (or both) then they'll be very unhappy.

Good point though about the beginning episodes of the new season...they've already filmed some of them. Any idea how many? I am cringing already to think of how the couch interviews will be!
