Jon and Kate Plus 8 official Thread, Part 2!!

I saw a commercial over the weekend that "hinted" that Jon & Kate may discuss some of the issues that have arisen between the two of them - particularly Jon..

I'm taping it - but have no idea when I'll get around to watching it..

I also believe that "Table For 12" will begin their new series tonight right after Jon & Kate..

Totally agree - I love this thread - differing views and all and would be lost without you! :grouphug:

I have to say that I just love when you edit your comments...always makes me smile! :rotfl:

I think this was said very well - good job wordy or not! :rotfl:

If the show focused more on Kate's organizational skills, I personally would watch and DVR that show to rewatch! This is why I initially started watching the show. I wanted to learn from J&K but the show's taken a different turn. I'd love to see how she packed a diaper bag for all those kids, packed the van for everyone, how many suitcases/how they packed for Disney (I know they showed some of this - I seem to recall a show where they were talking about the number of suitcases). I would love to have learned more about organizing the garage (this is a personal stuggle for me since my boys seem to have huge toys and they flow all over the place!) and other places in my house. Even how she keeps her schedule together - I know they used to show her calendar but I don't recall her ever explaining it. I have a hard time with my nanny, two boys, husband and myself - I'd love to learn more tips from someone whos life appears to be much busier than mine.

Now there have been some instances where people have mentioned one of the kids did something great or someone liked something one of them did ( I specifically recall a couple of people heading to Ikea to get things Kate had purchased because they were so impressed with it from the show) or said or something. For me, it's hard for me to keep the kids straight to comment on who did/said something cute (I call my own two by the wrong name - I'm just really bad with names I guess!). :)

I agree that some people are extremely negative but that's what you get in life. Some people never meet anyone who meets their standards. Then there are people who are more middle of the road (I think I fall into this group personally) who have their negative moments but generally are just trying to learn more about this family to see what all the negativety is about and where people are getting all this misinformation and what the "real" story is; going on making general comments about shows, sightings, ect. Then there are people who genuinely (sp?) adore the family and will find no fault with them. I presume these are those people who just watch the show and don't spend time on line looking into the family to learn any more about them. Again, that's just how I see them. Because we have all of those different groups here, you'll always have different opinions. It always helps to have material to support your claim as the "regulars" here will certainly ask for links, stories, quotes, something to back up claims - both good or bad. It's more than just an "idle gossip" thread in my eyes as many of those who post here have actually done research or sharing their personal thoughts and feelings which couldn't have any supporting evidence.

I hope some of that rambling makes sense. :goodvibes I guess basically I'm trying to say every person sees things differently - we can both look at the same picture and think two different things based on our moods, backgrounds, previous experiences, whatever. That's life and it's what helps to make us stronger, more educated people in the end.

Nicely said.:thumbsup2 I agree, I would definitely be interested more if they showcased those things like they did from the beginning! I loved that Kate made those cute little kiddos "monkey munch" snacks (found the recipe online!) or how she went all out for Valentine's Day. Personally the fact she's is so organized is one the things I love. She seemed to have alot of tips, maybe she should write a book about organizational tips! I'd continue watching if the show were about that and seeing the kids doing normal kid stuff.:goodvibes

I wasn't as creative today ;)

I wish there was a way to delete my own comment. Actually, what I need to do is type out my reply and then just close the window without actually posting it. :rotfl2:

:rotfl:So true!

DH (who doesn't "stalk" them - his words not mine!):goodvibes even thought things had been getting worse on the interview couch and said tonight when he saw the commercial asked if they were going to say they were getting a divorce. I just told him I didn't know and we were all waiting for the answer to what the teaser commercial was....I'm also dvring and don't know when I'll watch - I'll have to rely on my DIS friends in the morning to fill me in on what really happened. I truly hope they say something about getting some help for everyone in dealing with their family's "profession" - I can't imagine it's easy for Mady and Cara to go to school on Tuesday mornings after their show's aired...I know it's more focused on the "little" kids but kids can say and do mean things - regardless of age. I hope everyone in the family has a postive, outside outlet to talk to, get advice from and get help from.

I'm also excited to "meet" the new family tonight and see how they can live on a police officer's income with 10 kids....yikes! If 8 wouldn't make me crazy, 10 might push me over the edge....Can't wait to see what's in store for both families.popcorn::

I keep seeing commercials that show J&K arguing and then they show the thing on the couch, makes me think they are going to talk about the problems.

And Table for 12 comes on at 10 eastern time.

they have to know the internet is live with activity talking about how they seem to be having problems as of late.

I hope they just acknowledge it on the show tonight and say something like -- it's true, we're working on it - and then people can stop speculating.

I don't like or dislike them -- I watch occasionally -- but I do agree....Kate is different than she used to be and I don't think in a good way.

from what I've read, TLC changed the wording of the commercial at some point during the week .. either from it's been leading to this to it's been building to this ... something like that. Whatever the change was gave a different meaning to the commercials, so the bloggers thought. I think it's all semantics, really... and has no effect on what is going to be shown tonight.

Just speculating here ... the piece in Star magazine was 3 weeks ago -- they were in Florida right after that (per someone on this thread) and then Kate was in Kentucky on March 8. According to people that saw Kate in Georgia this weekend, she got teary because she had been away from the family for a while. While I'd say there was enough time to film and edit something .. I wonder if Kate was home to do an interview?

I was thinking about the preview and I wonder if it is going to address her traveling so much. When my DH traveled for work it was very hard on our relationship and we didn't even have kids yet.

Perhaps the people that don't like the thread should start their own positive comments only J&K thread. If not, then just stop coming to this thread. It is clogging up this thread that has stayed civil and on topic for a long time.

f she got teary because she had been away from the family for a while.

I saw that too and my first thought was if you are that upset to get teary/cry at your job, then maybe you need to step back and reevaluate what you are doing. :confused3

You know, I was thinking the same thing, that it probably has something to do with all of Kate's traveling so much. The article in People said Jon was feeling lost with Kate's career taking off. I bet that is what all the hype is about!

I've been seeing two differant commercials, one just the couch thing and the other with the arguing, we'll see soon. :thumbsup2

So far things seem a little like the old them, just the way Jon is sitting is differant. And they seem to be deliberatly answering those pesky questions.

It seems so hard to sit there and be able to give quality time to all eight kids like that. Great to see them all having a great time. It is cute to that the BB players are saying "hi" to their families.

Poor Jon, he just said he can't be just Jon, he has to be Jon and Kate plus 8 and it's hard. That's what the hype is.

My opinion on Jon and Kate which is pretty much my opinion on all reality celebrities is this. If you choose to garner your fame and fortune from this line of work, then you should fully expect for some people to love you, some people to hate you and some people to just not care. However, by signing up with TLC and taking that first check you officially opened your life, and the choices you make in in to everyone in America. They make their entire income from the result of this show and all I can say is regardless of who you are if you take the whole circus with anymore than the entertainment it is suppose to be then you care way to much about them.

The Kentucky basketball game is over .. :cheer2:

they said the interview is the last in the old house .. I'm pretty sure (there's no way I can be 100%, obviously) that it was filmed around the time Kate was here. She referenced how weird it is not to be filming in that house anymore and that the show is still going on. In her mind, leaving the old house meant no more filming. Something to that effect.

Jon told People magazine not long after the Star story broke about how hard it is to be Jon, that Kate's career had taken off faster than he thought, etc. I think that issue hit the stands the following Friday? (March 13) I might be off by a few days. I don't think we're going to see anything tonight we haven't already seen online. LOL.
