She came out, did her speech, looked at the pastor and said, "that's 25 minutes, right? I'm done, right?" and walked off the stage. She did not participate in any other part of the service (music, communion, etc)
...

One positive thing? Kate was drinking Fiji water. I do love me some Fiji water

She really said that outloud?! So tacky and unappreciative.

I wonder if she had Fiji water in her 'rider' for speaking?

if that's the case? here's the thing. Kate is a paid speaker, it's part of her job. The church paid her to do a job, and not only that, they spent a lot of money in preparation for today's event. They deserved her best. Every speaking engagement deserves her best.

I saw her in Orlando about 6 months or so ago when none of this Jon stuff was going on and she acted like she could not be bothered to be at the speaking engagement at all. I think it's just her!

And, just to add my two cents...lol...I believe Kate when she said she didn't leave the house for two years or sleep. My daughter was a preemie and I literally didn't sleep for two years either...didn't leave the house much either. I can't imagine with 6 babies.

Of course they left the house within the first two years. Maybe not as a whole family, but there are a few anecdotes in the book about Kate or Jon going somewhere(I remember a Target trip, specifically) and maybe a couple with one or two children at a time.

did the doctor come to the house? I'm sure, at the very least, they visited the pediatrician once or twice

I finally got some of my video to upload. None of it is particularly exciting, content-wise. After Kate's speech, there was a brief Q & A with the pastor. It's clear that the questions are part of the speech by the answers that Kate gives. But it's her delivery of the answers that speaks volumes. She's sitting across from a table with the pastor, talking about what should be a joyful subject, and she's so blah. No connection with the pastor at all.

In 1990 we had a family in our area that had 5 babies Quintuplets.
Our pediatrician went to their house for well baby check-ups the first year.

I agree. I find it hard to believe that for 2 whole years Kate did not leave to get a hiar cut, go to the dentist, do her own grocery shopping or get a "me" day.

I am sure she did not leave the house a great deal during thise first two years but I also find it VERY hard to believe that she literally did not leave the house at all.

Thanks for the list. I need to see how close the one in GA is to my house...I'm sure DH would love to watch the boys while I go see Kate!

And yikes for not leaving the house or sleeping! That's not good for you at all. I hope your little one is much better now and you're making up for the lack of sleep and not being able to go out!

I'd have to agree - I haven't read the book yet (thinking about getting it from the library instead of buying it!) but it seems like even in the early specials they went out for something!

That's an amazing doctor! I think I'd be thankful for that at least for a little while. Then again, getting out of the house for the doctor is a good excuse to get out of the house (at least for me!).

You woudl think after all this time and all the money they earn that she would be able to brush up on her speaking skills a bit more. Ummmm - like etc. Geez - even in that small clip it was painful lol.

I didn't think the end was all THAT bad. Maybe because she was smiling etc but if she just walked off after that without a thank you I'd be annoyed.
