watching the new episode ...

needed to move? no. wanted to move? yes.

OY. Kate's tan. it isn't tan, it's orange

The kids bedrooms had the production lights? I don't think I realized that.

How did they live there for 2.5 years?! Good lord. what a thing to say about the house where their children were babies. Such an awful time it must have been. :sad2:

The kids are cute, though .. running around and playing. Very engaging with the camera crew.

Jon's comments about his dad. :sad1:

Pizza? I wonder if craft services made them organic pizza and brought it to the old house in takeout boxes?

Really, if this was SUCH a chore for Kate, they should have paid to have the house gutted. All Kate has done is complain about the stuff. Yes. Moving is a hassle, but get over it. Geez.

What? "Closure will come when I have no more bills from that house. Annoying." OK. Many, many people cannot move to a new house without selling the old one. Many people are losing their homes ... and cannot afford to have 2 houses for a little whole. OMG. Is she kidding me?!

Sweet montage at the end. So sweet.

But Kate doesn't know how they survived. Gawd. :sad2:

I guess if Jon & Kate are producers of the show, that means Kate is the star? She was in every shot ... talking, talking ... blah, blah, blah. Blech.

I kinda liked last nights episode, and I think I'm really missing the old house:rotfl: I know it's stupid, it's not my house, but I'm going to miss it.

As far as Kate complaining the whole time about moving...well I'm the exact same way, so I'm fine with it. ITA, and I can't stand moving and everything that comes with it. Honestly, if I made as much as they do I would have hired someone to do all of it, so I actually give them credit for still doing it themselves.

The comment about how did we ever live here, did come off a little, ugh, for lack of a better word, but I don't think she meant it in the "we're better than this" attitude that it could have been taken in. I think she's just very honest and says whatever she's feeling without giving a thought to what others might think about the way it comes off. Honestly, if I was living in a huge house now, and came back to our home now a few months later, I'd probably be thinking the same thing, as in, wow it seems to weird to be in such a smaller area now ect. I really don't think she meant it as anything more than that, but who knows.

Also, for whatever reason, I didn't think she looked as bad as the last couple of shows...tan, hair. Don't get me wrong, she still looked really tan, but it just didn't come off as so bad to me in this show, but I'm guessing it has a lot to do with what she wears. I also liked that to me, for the first time in a while she and Jon seemed to be back on the same old page. They were laughing together about the pine cone box and we're working together like old times. I guess I just hadn't seen that as much in the past few episodes. Anyways, that's my 2 cents about last nights show.

I haven't watched the episode yet, so I don't have any comments on it yet, but do you ever watch House Hunters on HGtv?

Those people drive me nuts, they have 2 kids a 4000 Square foot house and it's not big enough!! :confused3

I agree. I always think, what on earth do these ppl. do to be able to afford these houses, and half the time one of them stays at home with the kids, so it's sometimes only 1 income. I need a career like that:thumbsup2

I just don't get her always saying what they "need." Of course they can do what they want with their money. She treated everything last night as "just stuff." Even Jon's sentimental belongings. I couldn't believe how much they had left in the house after being gone for 3 months! I got the impression they were throwing all those things in the trash. Even bags of clothes.

I also saw Kate talking about how she was claustrophobic in the house and couldn't believe they had actually lived there for 2 1/2 years. Jon was silent.

The episode, once again seemed completely contrived. Can't they do something normal like go to visit family, have friends over to see their new house, or go to Cara's soccer game or Mady's violin recital?

I thought it was intersting that the coming up vet visit isn't for a routine check up, but a swallowed plastic toy. That is very normal at least!

Have to put my two cents in about the dog show. I have no idea if these two things have been discussed because i don't have time to read all the posts.

It struck me wrong when Kate picked up the puppy that "she" fell in love with, but when it gave her a little lick on the nose she yelled "NO, don't lick me! I'm not ready for that yet!!" I mean good grief...it's a puppy, that's what they do.

I also Hated the fact that she told the kids that "the puppies were their Christmas present and not to expect much else!" Come on!! I swear those poor kids get no compassion from their mother whatsoever. She is so cold towards them and I would not like having a mother like that.

Me too. I always loved that floor plan, garage and yard. Seemed perfect for a large family (uh, maybe mine!).

I hate to admit it, but my mother would have said the same exact thing. I could even imagine exactly how she would have sounded. Not that it's in defense of my mother or Kate, but it isn't that unusual.

you think they actually did it themselves? :rotfl: I believe the got what they needed for the show, and that was it.

I hate moving. Another reason why I won't leave my house. LOL.

I don't think she meant it that way, either. Not really. (I hope not) But it's the same thing as the kids deserve the house. they need this house. That isn't the case. They've hit the lottery, come into some money and are upgrading. Nothing wrong with that, just call it what it is.

Jon was so quiet last nite.
His body language was better, he had his knee up and his arm on the back of the chair, but it was so wierd how quiet he was. And when he finally said something, he made me cry.
He said something to the effect that he wants to keep things that were from his dad or reminded him of his dad.
The camera cut to Kate and this was after all her explanations how she hated stuff, memories and events are more important to her, than all the stuff they accumulated.
When the camera cut to her after Jon just said that, she looked like she swallowed a canary.

And, raise your hand if you have a bag of old t-shirts somewhere in your house that belonged to your dh from highschool. My kids loved that bag and wore those t-shirts to lots of different things while they were growing up. Especially in h.s. when it was retro days. I sure hope, Jon went back and saved that bag.

I saw the promo for next week where apparently one of the pups eats a toy.

After thinking of the gum episode, I have to think heads are gonna roll over this!:rotfl:

I think that pet lovers/dog people are going to watch these episodes very closely. gumgate or not.

I don't care what Kate and Jon spend their money on or who deserves or wants what. Can we just see something about their kids? The house thing is a little irritating to me. I've moved before and it's a pain no matter what.

I miss the days of the show when they would show real life.

And...I know, I know, if I don't like the show and it irritates me that much don't watch it.

yup, and yup.

It's just the manner in which Kate says things. She just seems so dismissive. About everything.

No neighbors stopped by to tell the Gosselins goodbye or wish them well, did they? :lmao:
LPBW was really good last night. Amy stopped by the house she grew up in and took a pic/ hugged the neighors, LP convention, Makinaw(sp?) Island with her parents/kids, etc. :crowded: off topic, so sorry, wrong thread.

Things like that are important, especially to husbands (who they belong to!) and kids; I agree.

Just threw that bag away a month ago! :rotfl: That's why I had to laugh when she found it.

The Gosselins are in Venice FL right now. John was at the bakery on Venice Ave., near my office, this morning!

I'm jealous...but I will be there in a couple weeks!!!

I'm watching a Disney show on the travel channel that I've seen a million times before!

Oh yeah, stay on topic..Poor Jon, Kate is mean...:rotfl:

Have a wonderful trip - ours was great!!

Welcome to the thread. I was trying to figure out how you had 2,431 posts since joining the DisBoard this month. :scared1: Then I realized that your join date was last year.

Yup - it's been a year since I found the DIS! What did I do before the DIS? :confused3 I wasn't a Disney freak like I am now - that's for sure!:goodvibes

2 weeks 2 weeks and I will be getting on that plane and heading to Disney!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

WOOHOO!!!

There is a thread somewhere. But I really liked the show too.
My dh said, "Makinaw or Makinac Island just received a huge endorsement. The Tourism Industry for Michigan should be thanking Amy. TLC probably paid for the nite at the Grand Hotel, Amy made the comment that they could never afford to stay there and it always her dream. The hotel is beautiful. They charge $5.00 to walk the front porch and rock on the rockers at the Grand Hotel.
We plan on going there over Labor Day weekend and walking the 5 mile bridge.

The kids must be on spring break. I know lots of our private schools are on spring break this week and last week. Our private schools don't have to make up all the snow days, and the don't have to have 160 school days that public schools do.
