looks like the Philly mag article may be stirring the pot a little bit ...

http://www.glamour.com/sex-love-life/blogs/storked/2009/03/jon-kate-8-under-attack.html

and completely unrelated to that article, there are reports from people that (allegedly) saw the Gosselin family at a Harlem Globetrotter game. I get the impression they were filming for an episode, and the family was recognized/announced (like at halftime or something) at some point. There were boos. Probably not a lot .. but one is too many, if the kids are involved, IMO.

I agree with the booing of kids. It's not limited to the Gosselins though. I go to a lot of hockey games and some fans are so loyal to their team that they will boo anyone wearing the oppositions jersey. I even saw a guy throw a beer on a little boy at Madison Square Garden because the boy was wearing a Flyers jersey. :scared1:

Don't have time to read the article right now (got to get dinner started), but I agree. One boo is too many if the kids are there. They don't understand, even Cara and Mady.

holy cow!!

I haven't seen the actual post yet about the boo-ing. Just references to it on the (not GWOP) blog I was reading.

There is one poster who claims her friend sat near the Gosselin family at the game in Philly. The family wasn't in a box, but according to the poster, her friend doesn't do anything that isn't extravagant, so they were probably very good seats (as you would expect). Apparently, Kate got very irritated when people blocked their view and was not bashful about telling people to sit down.

Harlem Globetrotter "fans" aren't quite the same, loyal crowd as at hockey games. They are strictly a family, comedic, basketball team (act). There is no real competition involved the times I have seen them over the decades. There would have been no booing related to them wearing an "opposing" team's jersey. They are fun to go see!

If it happened, it is horribly sad for the kids and is completetly inappropriate. The passion they evoke is unlike much I've ever seen.

That's sickening. :sad2:

I know. My point was that some people will boo anyone and it's not limited to the Gosselins. I don't care what you feel about a kids parents, to boo little kids is low.

I wish I had the nerve to do that. I can't stand it when I am at a sporting event and people just stand in the aisles. I'm not talking about standing up after a good play because I do that, but those people that just get in my way for no reason make me so mad. I am too shy to say anything to them though..but really wish I had the guts!!

Can't respond...drooling over Disney. I don't care what anyone says about the ice cream. I love this episode!

Both times I've been "too excited to sleep" the night before we leave for WDW, this episode has come on in the middle of the night. :goodvibes: And I totally need it now to tide me over until the 17th.

OK, so it's still on the commercial...

I only caught the last ten minutes or so of the new episode. I think that will be a wonderful memory for them to have of their old house, especially the little montage at the end. OK, back on!!!

I love the Disney episode too. I just try to zone out through the whole ice cream thing. I'm such a dork, I always end up crying when they get there and find the ear hats in the room. Watch out here come the water works!

I need to get back to Disney soon or I might just go crazy!

Where are the tissues!?

I'm tivo-ing at midnight. watching the finale of The Bachelor :happytv:

So, Disney episode...everyone focuses on the ice cream, but Jon is acting an awful lot like Kate for the first thirty minutes, and I've never seen anyone call him out on it.

I just love the Disney episode. Don't feel nerdy, I always tear up a bit, too, when they pass under the sign and start clapping. Now I feel guilty all over again for taking this grown-ups only trip. I already miss DS being that little at Disney. :( We're going to have to hit Disney a lot in the next year before he becomes a big boy.

I agree. I think that episode is bad from beginning to end .. for both Jon & Kate.

I'm thinking about a girls-only trip in April. I've gone before without the kids, and it's hard. It's a LOT of fun, too.

We took our first trip without DS (he's a college freshman) in October ... that was weird.

I was looking at pics of last year's Spring Break trip, DD was in kindergarten. She looked at the princesses with such awe. I know it won't be like that much longer, if at all. It's very bittersweet.

I haven't watched the new episode yet, (I let DH watch Jack Bauer and I will watch J&K later) but I did catch the tail end of the Disney episode. :goodvibes My DH just laughed at Kate's ice cream "meltdown". He looked at me and said, "that would have been you!!" I'm the only one in my family that has ever had a Disney meltdown. :rolleyes1 My DH cracked up when Jon said, that he didn't care if the kids bathed in the ice cream. :rotfl:

2 weeks 2 weeks and I will be getting on that plane and heading to Disney!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

The truth is that they both are immature and lack respect for each other.

watching the new episode ...

needed to move? no. wanted to move? yes.

OY. Kate's tan. it isn't tan, it's orange

The kids bedrooms had the production lights? I don't think I realized that.

How did they live there for 2.5 years?! Good lord. what a thing to say about the house where their children were babies. Such an awful time it must have been. :sad2:

The kids are cute, though .. running around and playing. Very engaging with the camera crew.

Jon's comments about his dad. :sad1:

Pizza? I wonder if craft services made them organic pizza and brought it to the old house in takeout boxes?

Really, if this was SUCH a chore for Kate, they should have paid to have the house gutted. All Kate has done is complain about the stuff. Yes. Moving is a hassle, but get over it. Geez.

What? "Closure will come when I have no more bills from that house. Annoying." OK. Many, many people cannot move to a new house without selling the old one. Many people are losing their homes ... and cannot afford to have 2 houses for a little whole. OMG. Is she kidding me?!

Sweet montage at the end. So sweet.

But Kate doesn't know how they survived. Gawd. :sad2:

I guess if Jon & Kate are producers of the show, that means Kate is the star? She was in every shot ... talking, talking ... blah, blah, blah. Blech.

I haven't watched the episode yet, so I don't have any comments on it yet, but do you ever watch House Hunters on HGtv?

Those people drive me nuts, they have 2 kids a 4000 Square foot house and it's not big enough!! :confused3

I thought the montage at the end of the new episode was so cute! I got goosebumps. :goodvibes

I completely forgot about all the production lights on the ceilings!

oh, I know! I am always amazed by what people think they need vs. what they want.

do I live in my dream home? no. but do I feel like I need to move to something I like better? no.

But if you have the means...why not?

Do I need a vacation? Nope. Do I feel like I need a vacation? Abso-freakin'-lutely!! Especially after the icky morning I had today. Hopefully Tuesday in two weeks will be better!! :goodvibes

But if you have the means...why not?
I do have the means for a different house. The house I'm living in allows me to do other things I enjoy more. Plain and simple.

But Kate said, in the first minutes of this episode that they NEEDED a new house. "we knew we needed to move, our house was too small." is what Kate said. They did not need another house. They wanted another house, and I get that. I've always gotten that ... I've said that several times. They've achieved success, and of course they would want a new house. I would feel the same way. But Kate showed such disdain for the size of the house and the stuff they'd accumulated. I thought the comments about the stuff were interesting, because I never felt like their house was cluttered. I know with 8 people it has to be (I guess?), but it didn't seem like the Gosselins had an abundance of things.
