Jon and Kate Plus 8 official Thread, Part 2!!

I watched last night and felt very bad for Mady. She is really out of control. She was screaming at the four year olds, threw the paper plate at Cara, got in a yelling match with her father (him saying "yes", her saying, "no" about something). She really needs discipline. I know the show is edited, so please tell me she had time out, or was spanked, or was grounded and we just didn't see it. John and Kate were talking about her (when it was their little interview time) and they kind of just act like they cannot do anything - "that's just Mady". Discipline may not be fun, but it's necessary and it's just part of parenting.

I said this upthread .. I really think last night's episode was a bad edit. For all of them. Maybe not .. maybe this is what life has become for the Gosselins. But I'd really like to give the benefit of the doubt and go with a bad edit. Because if it wasn't ... watch out in a couple more years when the hormones start to rage ;)

I mean no disrespect why do you tortue yourself by wathching this show you don't like

where did you get the impression that I'm torturing myself?

until the show was moved to 9pm, I watched with my DD. She loves to watch the kids.

I think this show has outlived its spot on TV. I have watched this show several times over the past months and 99% of the time it is boring. Its time for Jon and Kate to get real jobs and stop exploiting their kids. If this is the best they can do after editing, they must be filiming 24/7. They are cute kids and I just feel sorry that they can't have a private moment to themselves. Other families of multiples survive in the real working world, so why can't they???

I could be wrong, but I thought they took the front bar out of the "highchairs" and now they are just really high chairs that makes it easier for the kids to eat at the table. We did the same for our son. It was better than using a booster and it fit under our table.

I'm sure they have the money now to buy a bigger home, but they had to. They have people knocking on the door wanting to see the kids, take pictures. I'm sure "safety" was a big issue. I would freak out if people came to my home. I know a family that got a new home from Extreme Makeover Home Edition in Dundee Wisconsin. It freaked her out, when people would walk into the back yard randomly for pictures. She had to put up a privacy fence.

It surprises me, that they want to keep doing the show. But if their new home location doesn't get revealed, they will probably be okay, but with the power of the internet, it probably won't remain a secret to long. But I"m sure they are in a gated area.
Their new home location has been mentioned on several sites right down to the street number. I was reading one site where people were discussing driving by and how Jon and Kate put up a fence and a gate. Wonder why?
I like the show, but it would never cross my mind to go drive by their house. It's scary that some people think that's okay. And these are the people that don't like Jon and Kate.

There is a very good chance that this is just temporary housing until their own home is built in their "warmer location"

After watching last night it has become evident that Mady and Cara are much whinier than any of the sextuplets, regardless of the editing. It was funny when Jon commented that Cara was saying how she didn't like Mady but then would turn around and ask her if she wanted to play a game.

I know people say that the kids do nothing outside of the show, but after watching Cara playing soccer with Jon outside, I wonder if she is on a team? Looks like she was wearing shin guards.

Hannah and Kate in the closet was a cute moment. Hannah telling Kate that she didn't like Mady and Cara being in charge and then hugging Kate and saying "I love you mommy" :cloud9:

Here is the land transations page for that County. Nothing is listed yet for the Gosselins here that I could find>...

http://www.co.berks.pa.us/berks/cwp/view.asp?a=1144&q=470872

it wouldn't be listed under their name because, allegedly, the house was bought by a trust/corporation. (which is common in the Gosselins situation of being on TV). I didn't read enough on GWOP to get the street address or whatever other information is needed to search on the Berks Co. site.

these children are old enough to eat like people. No straw cups, high chairs, or bibs. What do they do a school? The same thing? I doubt it. They are 4+ years old. Baby days are over. .

I have to agree with this, but I think it's fueled more by Kate's need to keep the kids squeaky clean all the time rather than keeping them babies..

Perhaps they have chosen to not discipline her on air and not discuss her temper tantrums to the producers.

Keep in mind people, shows are edited...we truly do not see a true representation. It's not like a live running webcam.

Mady's tantrums - and the screaming and foot-stomping that went along with it - got so loud last night I could barely stand it..

This is far from the first time she has acted out in this manner - seems to be the "norm" for her (along with the pouting; arms crossed in front of her chest; storming out of rooms; etc.) and every single time this has happened on one of the shows - EVERY time - Kate and Jon's response is the exact same thing.. "That's just Mady being Mady.." So basically, it's perfectly acceptable to them..

All I can say is heaven help them as she gets older.. Or is the excuse always going to be: "That's just Mady being Mady.."

I'd be very surprised if this show remains on the air after the 4 yr. olds begin school full-time.. Just hazarding a guess though..

that may be true, but in last night's episode, I believe one of the big girls helped one of the boys out of their seat. I didn't examine the scene closely, but it appeared to me that he needed the help .. that he couldn't get out on his own. But my attention wasn't completely focused on the show. I can't say for certain.

If that is Jon & Kate's new house I hope they put a fence and locked gate around that pool!!

My kids still took naps at age 5 when they went to all day kindergarten.

Actually I recall on the recent show where they went to San Diego, they took all the kids somewhere (to feed fish, I think?) and mentioned how they had to leave Mady back at the hotel with Jenny because Mady was acting up so she couldn't participate. She does have a very strong personality (wonder where she gets that from ;) ) but J & K do seem very aware of it and I assume they are dealing with it.
I personally don't like when Kate describes Mady as getting "ugly" when she acts up, but that's just me and not an expression I would personally use.

Yes, it seemed like the kids definitely needed help getting in and out of the chairs because Jon and the twins were helping them.

I would think that they would still need the high chairs moved back from the table so they could get out, although it did show at least one of hte boys standing up and climbing down as one of the twins were helping them out

Oh and back to the "garage" full of boxes. I was just watching the dressup episode where they were changing in the unfinished part of the basement.
I think that might be the area of the house they showed this week with the boxes piled up.

why does it matter where they were? they had many boxes, big deal. we know of two perfectly good reasons why they'd have so many boxes ... a yard sale and the move. they may just have that many boxes because they can :rotfl:

Well ghee I didn't realize I couldn't continue a subject that someone else brought up. Oh and BTW I wasn't the first to reply to the orgional comment about the boxes, you were.

I never siad it was a big deal. I was just making a comment.

Have I missed something ... where is Cammie (Camster0307)? I haven't seen her posting on this thread in a couple of weeks? I always look forward to her take on things, and realized today I hadn't seen any recent posts. :(
