Great work! Congrats on the new size! Those are the milestones that really matter.

I'm a historian, getting my degree in cultural and performance history, so decidedly different fields ;). I went into it knowing I wanted to teach, but I'm learning to love writing too. My biggest advice would be to know for sure that you need the PhD for the career you want; it's more a test of patience than of intelligence, and if I wasn't sure of my end goal, I don't think I would have finished it. (actually I haven't finishe it yet, but I'm on track ;))
 
BREAKFAST: none :( sorry, i was busy and just didn't get around to eating!

LUNCH: Chicken breast w/motz cheese & Onion, Strawberries and 1 banana cut up

DINNER: Chicken sandwich off the WW menu at APPLEBEE'S...+ fresh pineapple...YUM

SNACK: low fat/cal torilia chips w/ my special dip (1/3 ff sour cream, 1/3 light shredded chedder cheese, 1/3 salsa--mixed) CAN Y0U SAY YUM, this stuff is GREAT!! :goodvibes

WATER WATER AND MORE WATER....

didn't walk today, but burned 80 calories on DDR...going to walk in the morning and tomorrow evening to make up for things...and BTW, was down one more pound this morning! :)

DDR is a Godsend--anything that makes exercise fun is all right in my book!

Your dip sounds tasty--I'll have to try that sometime.

You're doing great! I am in LOVE with DDR! I want it for my birthday. Your dip sounds very yum-full. I also LOVE the WW menu! The chicken sandwich and cheesecake-oh buddy!
 

DAY ELEVEN HAS ARRIVED!!!!

I promise to get caught up my journal reading/posting tonight, however for the time being, I thought I'd post this:

Just got back from walking a mile, did it in 17 minutes...not bad :)

Haven't eaten yet, but going to get something before we get on our way to family's (1.5 hr drive away)

We're having a cook out today...but I have a plan ;)...

We bought some of the laura's lean beef burgers and some oscar mayer ff hot dogs and we're each (jeff and I) going to have one burger and one dog...

I think we will fit in ok doing this, I'm going to try not to make a big deal about it, but cook ours myself.... :) I'm going early so I can accomplish this without notice! :)

Ok, I'm officially at my 10# lost mark, will get my clippie tonight! YAY :cool1:

i hope you ladies have a FAB day, and will post tonight my food diary, and read and post on your journals!!! :)

ok, my day wasn't JUST as I had planned but all in all I'm satisfied!

here's my eats:

BREAKFAST: none :(

LUNCH:1--Laura's Lean Beef Burger, onion/tomato/mustard on a reg bun. 1 table spoon give or take of potato salad, very small portion ceasar salad, bowl of strawberry short cake.

DINNER: Talapia fried in PAM with a spicey cornmeal coating, 2 baked hushpuppies, a generous portion of FRIED morel mushrooms...ok, I TRIED to fry these in PAM, and it DID NOT WORK, and it's been 2 yrs since I've had any of them, so we splurged and I used as small an amount of oil as I could to fry them...they were very good, and I did not finish mine (gave the last 4 to the kids) :)

WATER--not sure how much, but I drank quite a bit...plus had 2 glasses of Crystal Light.

EXERCISE: Walked one mile with Jeff this morning...I didn't swim :(

Overall a good day...I probably shouldn't have eaten the mushrooms...but the good news is they are gone, and mushroom season doesn't start again til next April :) LOL

Normally I would have eaten 3 times what I did of them though...so I'm happy with myself! :)

oK, for breakfast I had 1 english muffin with a thin layer of light peanut butter on it (toasted)...and a glass of milk (skim)

going to do lunch soon :)

Hi gals (and guys)

My day was ok...it was weird though, I got some banana chips/dehydrated pineapple for a 'snack'...and it was the weirdest feeling, I felt a mini benge coming on...I had a handful of pineapple and a handful of banana chips, and then I STEPPED AWAY FROM THE SWEETS! lol...

so here was my food day:

BREAKFAST: 1 english muffin w/thin layer of light peanutbutter 1 glass skim milk

LUNCH: 1 light Oscar Mayer Hot dog w/mustard, bowl of cut fresh strawberries

SNACK: handful of dried pineapple, handful of banana chips (generous)

DINNER: Some totilia chips with my famous dip

LOTS OF WATER (not sure how much) :( sorry **note to self, track this when at home!

EXERCISE: walked 1 MILE!!! :) :cheer2:

So tomorrow I'm not slipping, not sliding, only STICKING TO my change of life plan...though my choices this weekend were MUCH MUCH MUCH better than I would have made before, they still weren't where I want to be yet!!!

ON ANOTHER NOTE: I have not drank any soft drinks and/or sugar drinks (kool aid, etc) in 12 days now, no coffee either, and I do not miss it!!!

Only water, milk or crystal light for me! :) yay

ok...that's enough from me tonight...you'll hear more out of me tomorrow on DAY 13!!! and the days are dwindling on going to DISNEY...I'm hoping to drop another 5 pounds before I leave!!! GOING TO HAVE TO GET CRAKING ON THE EXERCISE IN ORDER TO DO THAT!!!!!!

A SUPER GOOD MORNING TO EVERYONE!!!! :flower:

I'm down another pound & a half this morning! SO THE DAY IS STARTED OFF AWESOME!!!! :cool1:

I'm really pumped about that! :)

I'm looking SOOOO forward to breaking through to the 270's.... :earboy2:
and I'm sooo hoping to have another 3.5 lbs off by June 9th when we leave to see MICKEY!!! ::MickeyMo

Off to work for me this AM...but only 3 more days after today then a 2 day weekend, 3 more days of work, then ::MickeyMo yay!!!! :banana:

oK, I'm off to finish getting ready for work!!!

Wow, Jen, you are doing so great! Congratulations! Isn't it awesome when you can look at the choices you have made and realize how much smarter you are now about those choices? Even if you think you could have done it better, you have to remind yourself of how GREAT you are doing, compared to what your choices would have been in your former life(style)!
Keep up the wonderful attitude! You are definitely inspiring!

You are in single digits!! You must be excited for your trip. You are making some great choices, and you can make your goal of 5 pounds before the trip.

Let me tell you there is a box of twinkies my mom sent home with my daughter that has been calling my name for three days, but I WILL NOT WAIVER, I WILL NOT FAIL, I WILL FIGHT TO THE END, AND LOSE MY TAIL (or butt that is!) lol :rotfl:

I hope she eats them soon! lol

Ok, nearly time to head home, and here's what I've done today:

Joined the June exercise challenge 800 minutes for me PLEASE!

Joined the 5 for June challenge (hopefully) more for me PLEASE! LOL

drank 32 oz of water

and stained my new shirt with a strawberry, anyone know what takes strawberry out of tshirts? :(

i'll post more tonight...will probably be after Jayt's baseball game!!! HUGS TO YOU GUYS!!

I'd try cold water & BIZ soaking on the t shirt. There is also little bottles of stuff they sell at WalMart - yellow w/ white caps, that are formulated for different types of stains. I'd bet the BIZ will do it tho.
