Joelyfaithsmommy's Journal to Freedom! (Comments Very Welcome!)

Ok, lunch just ended for me, I had the salad as I had said...was good, i'm full..all is well in the world of JEN :)

I'm so ready for the weekend, I'm tired, and just need a break from the dialy grind...it's been a LONG week for me, can anyone tell???? :)

So how are things in YOUR neck of the woods? :flower:

Hi, Jen! Thanks for the idea of chicken strips over salad. I LOVE lettuce but don't often remember that. I think I will grill some chicken tonight to put in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch and dinner and run to ACME for more B1/G1 bags of prepared salad.

It's been a long week for me too. Still having a hard time focusing and getting in the groove after a couple of upsetting months. Dying for the weekend, when we will head out of town for lots of good times with friends. Glad you have something so wonderful to look forward to!

Congrats on doing so well! And THANK YOU for your awesome, uplifting attitude!

Cam, you're welcome for the tip of the chicken, and no problem on the attitude, that's just pretty much ME :flower:

I'm probably in a good mood more than any person you know! lol...and that's a good thing! I like ME that way! :)

only 1.5 hrs of work left then I can go home!!! YAYAYAYAYAY! :cool1: :rotfl:

I just can't wait for Friday at 5pm!!! YAY!

HA, I dread Fridays at 5. I start work at 7PM.

You are doing a great jb, and I love your attitude too. Keep it up.

Enjoy your weekend,
Beth

I tried to post this last night, but I couldn't get on the boards :(

I had yesterday:

BREAKFAST: Cereal (honey bunches of oats)

LUNCH: salad with chicken breast strips, tomato, a little shredded cheese, and a few croutons. ff italian

DINNER: chicken taco salad + ff sf chocolate ice cream 1/2 cup and 4 cut strawberries.

YUMMIE! ON TO DAY NINE!

Day NINE already? Where does the time go? :flower:

Ok, I'm a little bummed with myself cause I didn't get my exercise in yesterday as planned...we are having a garage sale today and tomorrow and I helped get things ready...when we finally had time to walk it was 9pm, dark, and so we didn't :(

THIS HAS GOT TO CHANGE!

I'm going to look into joining a gym, that could solve the exercise problem...MORE ON THAT WHEN I HAVE MORE TO REPORT! :)

Overall though, still SUPER PUMPED...haven't weighed in a couple days...not going to til mid-next week...but I can tell in my clothes already! YAY!

Well, off to fill up my water and get my day started! Just checking in and hope to hear from some of you guys today!

HUGGGZZZZZ
Jen

Good Luck with your GSale! Hope it goes really well.

I'm so glad you're beginning to see changes. Exciting, huh????

I've tried the gym and between travel time and gym time, I just couldn't keep it up with my hectic schedule. Wish I could. Would be a great plan for you and DH together.

Happy Friday!!

Congrats Jen! Nothing feels better than loose clothes. Even better, loose clothes after just a few days of your lifestyle change. Excellent job!

Good luck on another positive day! :dancer:

Hi Jen- good luck w ith your garage sale...I wish I could convince my DH to do this, since we have soooooo much junk around the house. I have no idea where it comes from!

If you're looking for a gym, a lot of WISH people are Curves members and are great about answering questions. I joined there 4 months ago and love it; it really eases you into the whole exercise thing and makes you love it. Although, if you're looking to join something w/ your DH, it wouldn't be the best choice.

BTW- I saw on another thread that you're considering a PhD...I'm just finishing mine up this year. It's a huge endeavor, but I'm glad I did it. I did let the pounds pile on w/ all my course work, but I'm getting control of it now. But let me know if you want to chat. :)

Well I need a disclaimer on my forhead: THESE RESULTS NOT TYPICAL LOL because it's only due to the fact I have so much to lose that I'm seeing results quickly, but still it's motivating none the less! :teeth:

I actually put on a pair of sz 22 jean shorts last night. I have not even thought of putting on a sz 22 in a long time..., granted it was just one pair of 22's, but it's SOMETHING! And I'm super pumped! :)

huggies,
Jen

Well actually my DH is running the garage sale today because I had to work :earseek:

Also, as far as curves go, I know about it, one of my prof's tried to get me to join in the winter, but I just never did it... :( ....I think we are going to go for something we can do together though...it just makes sense, but thanks for the advice on it! I DO APPRECIATE IT!

As far as the PhD, yes I'm about 90% sure I'm going to do it at this point. What is yours in? I'm considering Mass Communications or Instructional Systems Technology (I'm conflicted) LOL Would love to chat sometime about it.

Huggies again!

Hi, Jenn!
Hope Jeff is having fun with the garage sale. I guess, especially if you have kid stuff to sell a weekday sale works well for SAHparents.
I am a HUGE advocate of the YMCA for getting into a fitness routine. Ours is open 5:30 a.m. - 10:00 pm M-S and 12:00-900 Sundays. There are so many opportunities for free and low cost fitness classes as well as the flexibility of just going to the fitness center and using the equipment there. Our family membership is $65/month and the membership even includes 3 1-hour sessions with a personal trainer (I used my first for training on the upper body nautilus machines, but haven't used sessions 2 and 3 yet). The other thing I like about the Y is that it is not a beauty pageant. I go in sweatpants or shorts with an oversized tee shirt. Rarely do I ever see anyone in any kind of "fitness wear" like leotards or sport bras and bike shorts. This is very reassuring to me.

Congrats on the 22W shorts! That is fabulous! I know just how you feel putting them on. Just think about how you are going to feel when those shorts get roomy in the next couple of months!

Keep up the great work over the weekend. I won't be around to cheer you on, but I will be thinking of you and your DH. Have a great weekend!

Sounds like those 22 shorts won't be fitting too long. WAY TO GO!!!!!

Just think how much you'll need them at Disney. Won't be long till ALL the 22 fit and then are too big!

Hope the sale went well. Have a GREAT weekend!!

YOU GUYS ARE A SUPER DUPER SUPPORT SYSTEM!!!!

T H A N K Y O U S O M U C H !!!!!!! :teeth:

I'm home, and I'm done with my walk! (walked one mile with dh in just at 20 min)

We're going to Subway for dinner cause they kids wanted a 'treat' and we can eat there sensibly...so I'll report my food diary when I get back for the day...

As for the garage sale, made about $200 today, and we're having it tomorrow too...so not too bad! :)

You guys have a wonderfully fabulous weekend...I won't be on here as much as normal, but i'll be around and you all will be on my mind!!!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CREW!!! ;)

WE CAN DO THIS!!! :cheer2:

Hugs,
Jen

ok, here was my food day:

BREAKFAST: 1 1/2 c cut strawberries

SNACK: 1 banana

LUNCH: ham sandwich, lite & fit cherry vanilia yogurt

DINNER: Turkey cheese melt (6") w/spinach leaves, tomato, onion, peppers + 1 bag plain baked lays (small subway bag) and lemonade

40 oz of water (NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!)

EXERCISE:

walked one mile

and burned 123 calories doing DDR (for those of you who dont' know what this is, i'll get into in my post tomorrow) :)

so it was a GOOD day! I hope I do as well all weekend! :)

huggies

Jen

DDR? Oh , no!! It is ADDICTIVE!!!!

My DH15, the gymnast, makes his feet FLY!! We go to Universal and he has to play in the arcade. When we travel, he has to take his xbox and DDR with him. TOO FUNNY!!!

Me, I'm not near coordinated enough. I can't seem to get the info from the screen to my feet anywhere near fast enough. It is REALLY a workout!

Sounds like lots of congratulations are in order for you, Jen! :Pinkbounc

Congrats on the size 22 jean shorts! With all of the great work that you have been doing, you'll be sayin' goodbye to those 22's and hello to smaller sizes in no time at all!

Congrats on the $200 at the garage sale as well! Is this Disney money? We're hoping to have a garage sale in two weeks and we are hoping to make about $200-$300 as well. Every little bit helps us get that much closer to WDW, doesn't it? :goodvibes

Jen, you are doing such a great job and I really admire your enthusiasm and positive attitude! You CAN do this, girl! Go Jen! Go Jen! Go! Go Go Jen! :cheer2:

Have a great weekend! :sunny:

Good Morning, Jen! Are you helping with the sale today or do you get some down time??

Your days are going great. I'll be back later to check on you!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORRRRRRRRRRNINNNNNNNNNGGGGGG LADIES!!!

Up and attem this morning~~~ DH is "running' he garage sale, but I got up and I"m going to take a shower and go help soon :)

Yes, DDR is addictive...I have wanted it for a long time..the graduate program I am in deals with new media design and many of the students create vido games, thus DDR is the topic of discussion much of the time because they all love it...I had only played it a few times until last night when hubby brought it home to me :teeth: I was so excited!!!! It's a super fab way to exercise....and I'm pumped about having it!

our garage sale money is for disney, yes...

and I'm MORE THAN READY to say BYE BYE BIRDIE to the size 22's but all good things in time my pretty! LOL

ok, off to start my day, haven't eaten y et, but I'm thinking strawberries for breakfast...maybe cereal, we'll see...I'll be back later to post more!!!

Huggies guys!
thanks for ALL your support! YOU GUYS ROCK!
