ITA ... However, according to Sheriff Arpaio last night on HLN AfterDark, he believes in the 1st Amendment and any inmate who requests to speak to the media and signs a consent form, will never be stopped from doing so because "he has nothing to hide" ... not that anyone was asking him anything about hiding something or not, but whatever :rolleyes1 ... Although, I never knew that the 1st Amendment also included the right to make up, wardrobe, a fashion stylist, hairdresser and lip gloss :scratchin ... But there ya go ... Learn something new everyday ;) ...
I think that's what REALLY gets to me. One of the interviewers (a woman) said that she was a diva...couldn't be shown handcuffed, couldn't show her striped pants, etc. BUT...the jail provided her with makeup AND a white sweater to wear?? Why? If I worked there and was told to be Jodi's personal makeup shopper and wardrobe consultant, I'd be saying "You've got to be ****ing kidding me." Are we (well, AZ taxpayers) paying someone to do that for her? WTH is up with that???
ITA with this Mare. I've said something similar in the past when someone asked if you could put her to death. I recall saying it would be a hard decision if I put myself in the jury's shoes. As you stated, we see and know things the jury probably doesn't. I bet if they knew about the interviews Jodi did last night and how she bashed them, they would have an easier time deciding to put her to death. Chances are they don't know though and only have what's been presented to them.

They do deserve respect in finding her guilty. At least they're not letting her walk away a free woman. As I also stated, I don't see the judge giving her life with the possibility of parole if they can't come to a decision. I'm sure the judge sees everything we do and I hope she takes all of that into consideration if she has to decide life with or without parole.
:worship: Thank you. :flower3:
I totally get what you are saying. I posted the same thing probably back 2 or 3 threads. I can sit here and say I am for the death penalty and that she should get the death penatly but if it came down do it could I do it? I'd like to think I could get past the whole idea of what it meant and just do my job and give the sentancing I think she deserved..but :confused3. The only thing I know I would not do, is that I would not look at it as killing her...because I don't think that the DP is killing in the same way that a murder is killing. If that little strategy by the DT worked by telling the jury about deciding to kill her then good for them I guess.

I just want this whole thing to be over. This trial has been a circus and a comedy of errors for a lot of it. Jodi is being treated as if she is a VIP or movie star or something and she sure isn't being treated like the convicted murderer she is. :sad2:
Ditto to you! :worship: Thank you! :flower3:

I don't see why they bow to her wishes for makeup and such. A convicted felon should be in her proper attire: stripes.

Hhmmm. Interesting. Sounds a bit better, but it still concerns me, because they weren't asking for the heck of it. There's some sort of situation going on.

Hmmm, maybe it was nothing more than just a hypothetical question after all? ... Maybe they were simply curious about what would happen just in case they couldn't come up with a unanimous decision just for their own edification? ... In that case, it seems like a good question, and if it were me, I would probably like to know that too ... Let's just hope this was much ado about nothing and they ultimately reach a unanimous decision ... :)

Two hours into deliberation Wednesday, the Jodi Arias jury informed Maricopa Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens that it was unable to reach a unanimous decision on whether to sentence Arias to death or life in prison.

The judge gathered the jury in the court room and read them a standard instruction, asking them to deliberate further.

The jury sent a handwritten note on an official question form to the judge. It said: "If the jury is unable to come to a unanimous decision @ this stage, do we notify the judge of this on the form (verdict) or do we just tell the judge her instruction on the bottom P. 10 on the final jury Instruction-Penalty phase?"
It was signed by juror No.18.

Ok, now I don't know what to think about any of it anymore ... :confused3

BUT...as far as being death penalty qualified. I remember during voir dire for the CA trial, how Judge Perry almost seemed to be trying to talk potential juror into being FOR the death penalty, and at least one who I recall...I think she said she didn't feel right judging people or something  ...just seemed to give in. But someone that wishy washy is probably never going to sentence someone to death. Now, I'm not sure what the AZ/Maricopa County jury questionnaire actually asks, so I can't judge if someone wishy washy could get on the jury. :confused3

Oh lord, I remember that one, she should have been dismissed, but I think a lot of these judges don't like to dismiss potential jurors, I know our county judge doesn't. I wish we could have seen the voir dire for this jury.

What does that part even MEAN?? Is that English as a first language??

Is sounds like they might be iffy about the verdict and that actually filling out the form makes it written in stone and final.

I think Judge Perry (as much as I loved him and admire how he ran his courtroom, esp since watching this case) was way too anxious to seat a jury.

The State vs Jodi Arias ~ Travis Alexander murder trial

A message from a member of this page. I've copied it out verbatim but have left out the poster's name. If you wish to come forward, please do so in the comments:

"I have unfortunately been in prison where she will go, and TRUST ME!!! She will NOT be the Predator..she WILL be the Prey!!! Prison is WAAAY different than that safe little jail she is in now!!! She's in for a rude awakening!!! And what she said about starting programs and clubs and helping the "illiterate" inmates..NEVER going to happen!!! She's going to be in COMPLETE isolation for AT LEAST five years, and after she manages to "program down" to a lower classification....she still needs to realize that's she's now an INMATE!! The State runs every aspect of your life, so NO she won't be contributing ANYTHING to society!! The closest she'll get is a 50 cent an hour job as a GED tutor..but that will take her YEARS and YEARS to get that "privilege". And her smug, superior attitude she has, all that's going to get her is beaten up and robbed!! So, it would be in her best interest to just SHUT UP FOR ONCE IN HER LIFE and get OK with the fact that as soon as that gate closes behind her at the "Perryville Complex" sign, nobody cares that she's Jodi Arias...for the rest of her disgusting life, all anyone will know about her is her INMATE NUMBER!!!"

In light of that, maybe some jurors really believe Life would be more of a punishment than Death for Jodi.

That's what I was thinking too ::yes:: ...

Doesn't sound like this prison has an open door policy to the media either ;) ... Guess JA won't be getting anymore close-ups ... tsk tsk, and all that new makeup is going to go to waste now, awwwww ... Maybe she can recycle it before she goes there ... ;)

They maybe going over mitigating factors involved with how they vote. Allot to think about.

This made me smile.
Me too. :) Can you imagine, Little Miss Entitled Princess in prison? There may be something to this. :scratchin .

So much for all those things she wants to do in prison.

Her statement was NOT under oath. She could have said anything. What I wish the jury would note is that she's been in jail for FIVE years, and stated that some of the other women wanted her to teach them Spanish, but SHE WAS TOO BUSY WORKING ON HER CASE. ?? What else does she have to do in jail? If she had actually DONE something in those 5 years (besides get her hair cut  ), THAT would be something to talk about, not big plans for what she could do in the future. I think she envisions herself with a desk with a nameplate, running all her prison programs.

Let's not forget ... She had to GROW that hair too ... That, I'm sure, was very time consuming and strenuous for her ;) ... And all those spiders she was capturing and setting free - let us not forget that hard work either ;) ... :rotfl:
