I went even though there was dark clouds. I got to the top of the hill we hike with both dogs when hail started:worried: I learned I CAN jog downhill....not well, but I can do it! With a pissed jack russel trying to get under my legs for cover and a very happy go lucky choc lab pup. One the the two is now curled up in a fetal position by the fireplace.
It's amazing how fast you can move when you must!
I am saddened by the sight of Samantha's shoulders wracked with sobs, and yet, there is CMJA smiling laughing working her spell on a cop.:crazy2:
I know. I hate this for the Alexander family. There was a light at the end of the tunnel...they thought this would be over soon. And after Jodi once again throwing herself in front of the media last night, and then this today...I don't know how much more this family can take.

Dang, nothing yet and I was feeling good about walking away assuming I'd have to watch a youtube for the verdict.

So it sounds like they're hung, damn. I wonder what makes any one of them believe Jodi deserves some life.

On ABC website they are saying Jodi Arias Jury is hung, is that official? I have no idea after they voted they way they did, what the heck?

I'm gonna go by the info wv posted. Maybe this isn't a steadfast hung jury.

And this is what MC Superior Court tweeted right after:

@courtpio: Jury's question is what to do if they can not reach a verdict #JodiArias Judge is giving them further instruction

They answered the question they could hand down DP. That means they lied? Come on if you can't hand down that DP then you need to state that in getting picked.

Good point! I forgot that part. I was thinking there must be a few who just do not support the DP......how how how can they not want to send the abosolute message of what she did!

Maybe we heard something different. Then that means they are not at a deadlock phase?

Makes one think this jury hasn't worked hard enough in one direction or another unless someone just had the nerve enough to say I'm not changing my mind.

I have personally met people this narcissistic. Nothing to the level obviously, but the thing that blew my mind was how easily sane, intelligent, seemingly smart people could get sucked in by the kool aid.

I do NOT get why they keep giving her special little privileges. She should have to sit in prison garb, with chains, and bare faced. She is convicted of a heinous vicious slaughter.:guilty:

No, you heard right. The judge said(paraphrasing) that it was her understanding they were not unanimous. But it was posted by wvjules that the judge is not allowed to answer what if's, so she had to phrase it that way.

This is more reassuring to me - and it makes sense in light of all the tweets and reports coming from the courthouse. I found it strange that the jury who sat through almost 5 months of this and found her guilty of extreme cruelty in a premeditated murder with seeming ease could bow out of the sentencing so quickly. Hopefully they simply wanted to clear up the process early and are now settling down to hash it out. And, if that's the case, I don't think it was necessarily a bad thing for them to be back in the courtroom and see the reaction of the Alexander family to the possibility that CMJA might be spared.

I think what people need to understand is that on the outside looking in, it's very easy to have an opinion about the death penalty and say that you can absolutely sentence someone, but actually being on the jury and having to make that decision is, or could be, a very different thing. *I* think I could sentence her to death. We all seem to think that. But, we are not the ones doing it. We've heard more...about Jodi and her antics...that the jury hasn't heard. We've "bonded" more with Travis and his family, since the jury hasn't heard anything near what we have. As frustrating as this is, I think this jury deserves some respect, no matter what the outcome of the penalty phase. They came to the correct and just verdicts in the first two phases. Making the decision to sentence her to be KILLED is difficult for someone, for whatever reason.

I hope Joey Jackson is correct in that they'll come to the decision for death. I hope so.

So it does not mean that they are not , it is a what if. I won't worry about a what if.

BUT...as far as being death penalty qualified. I remember during voir dire for the CA trial, how Judge Perry almost seemed to be trying to talk potential juror into being FOR the death penalty, and at least one who I recall...I think she said she didn't feel right judging people or something  ...just seemed to give in. But someone that wishy washy is probably never going to sentence someone to death. Now, I'm not sure what the AZ/Maricopa County jury questionnaire actually asks, so I can't judge if someone wishy washy could get on the jury. :confused3

Hhmmm. Interesting. Sounds a bit better, but it still concerns me, because they weren't asking for the heck of it. There's some sort of situation going on.

ITA ... However, according to Sheriff Arpaio last night on HLN AfterDark, he believes in the 1st Amendment and any inmate who requests to speak to the media and signs a consent form, will never be stopped from doing so because "he has nothing to hide" ... not that anyone was asking him anything about hiding something or not, but whatever :rolleyes1 ... Although, I never knew that the 1st Amendment also included the right to make up, wardrobe, a fashion stylist, hairdresser and lip gloss :scratchin ... But there ya go ... Learn something new everyday ;) ...

ITA with this Mare. I've said something similar in the past when someone asked if you could put her to death. I recall saying it would be a hard decision if I put myself in the jury's shoes. As you stated, we see and know things the jury probably doesn't. I bet if they knew about the interviews Jodi did last night and how she bashed them, they would have an easier time deciding to put her to death. Chances are they don't know though and only have what's been presented to them.

They do deserve respect in finding her guilty. At least they're not letting her walk away a free woman. As I also stated, I don't see the judge giving her life with the possibility of parole if they can't come to a decision. I'm sure the judge sees everything we do and I hope she takes all of that into consideration if she has to decide life with or without parole.

I totally get what you are saying. I posted the same thing probably back 2 or 3 threads. I can sit here and say I am for the death penalty and that she should get the death penatly but if it came down do it could I do it? I'd like to think I could get past the whole idea of what it meant and just do my job and give the sentancing I think she deserved..but :confused3. The only thing I know I would not do, is that I would not look at it as killing her...because I don't think that the DP is killing in the same way that a murder is killing. If that little strategy by the DT worked by telling the jury about deciding to kill her then good for them I guess.

I just want this whole thing to be over. This trial has been a circus and a comedy of errors for a lot of it. Jodi is being treated as if she is a VIP or movie star or something and she sure isn't being treated like the convicted murderer she is. :sad2:

This is so not good. :( I can't believe this jury can't come to a verdict, I mean show some freaking backbone!

I think the thing is that, despite what she did, it is rather difficult to be the person who, basically, when all is said and done, caused her death. The average human being isn't one to kill another unless there's some sort of provocation.
