Job interview today.....gotta make my decision now

IMO, you shouldn't take the new job.

The $2 raise will be eaten up by the extra gas and mileage you'll be using to commute, not to mention the extra time you'll be spending.

Since you will be eligible for COBRA coverage, you may not be eligible for state insurance.

And what happens if you hate the new job? You'll really be a bind for coverage then.

I don't know much about insurance so I'll leave that to the experts except at one time we were without it and got a gap plan that wasn't too expensive.

About the drive: A friend of mine decided it was time for a change and she went from 30 minutes to 60 minutes and from 12's to 8's so she was driving more days as well. The cost of driving wouldn't be as great with 12's as you go less often.
My friend feels that the peace she has encountered with her new job more than makes up for the drive and it has been about 2 years since she switched.

I believe you are a nurse and so am my friend and I. Our job is so mentally challenging that sometimes you have to make the change if you add on emotional ones which is exactly why she and I made the change (although I continue to work at the same hospital in a much different capacity.)

Best Wishes!
