My husband is a contarctor now and a differnet contractor for the same company wants to offer him a job through them since my husbands contract is up in Feb. The pronblem is he will only get paid once a month and we are horrible with money mangement. If he wants to sty working fir this company I think he eventually needs to work for them. :( Has anyone done this?? Will we have to go a month with no money or get paid up front?? We have no savings for this long with no money:( What do we do? My husband says not take it and hope the other placewill offer us another contract. How do people live getting paid once a month:(

I get paid once a month as well but my husband is paid biweekly. I use his check for spending and mine for all the other bills. We often don't have alot in savings as well so it's hard for us, too. I just got used to paying all the bills (even the ones that are due mid month) at the beginning of the month when I get paid. I thought this would be hard for us but we got used to it pretty quickly. Good luck!

I have a home daycare but all my money is going towards a disney trip I guess in Oct we will be ok then.

my hubbie is looking for work right now. but he used to get paid once a month. It is hard especially the first month. but after that its not too bad. If you want to save money its great because you can put a big chunk into your savings as soon as he gets paid.

I would definately take the job with more security if I were you.

The first month is difficult, but after that, you get into a groove. It really makes you learn to budget! (because you HAVE to!)

DH gets paid once a month and it is no problem for us. You say that you are horrible with money management. There is no time like the present to decide that you are good with money management and buckle down and get the situation under better control. You will probably be amazed at all of the money you have and can save just by managing it. You have 8 months to make this work for you. Good luck! Feel free to PM if you would like any money management tips.

I agree with the others -- look at this as a good reason to start managing your money better. :)
