Jingle Bell Jingle BAM Show at DHS with Dessert Party Details POST 8

We were at the dessert party and show last night. I haven't kept up on all the reviews, but thought I would just share a little of our thoughts.

We loved the party food and drinks. After that Osborne party last year , I would say that the offerings were 200 per cent improved. Everything we tried was good, but loved that there were salad dishes as well as the other savory and sweet choices. Favorite was the nitro mousse!

We left the party a bit early to get a good spot on the rope behind the wheelchair section, only to have the entire section fill up with tall family/friends of the wheelchair people. I would guestimate that the there were probably at least 4 or 5 people standing in that section for every wheelchair. Kids standing behind the rope, and any one short, had no chance of seeing much of the show.

I thought the show itself was poor, at least what I could see of it. It seemed like something that was quickly flung together...not very cohesive, and if the party wasn't so yummy, I would totally be upset for spending the money.

I think the SW show would have been so much better...just my thoughts...

the more I am reading the more I am thinking stay at the party until you are escorted out then hang toward the back of the section so no one is directly in front of you.

That's definitely our plan! We're a family of five, but for the party night, it's just our 9-year-old and me. He's also on the spectrum, and can become disregulated quickly in the middle of a crowd. So hanging out in the back of the reserved viewing section seems like a good plan to me!

Can anyone report back on the view from there? I am short and will have 2 kiddos with me. For the SW show we left early to get a front row spot and were behind several adults with their wheelchair companions, but could peer between them ok. Wondering if we could do that in the back, too?

I will if I end up there. we are going with a group so I am not sure where I will ACTUALLY end up, but I will be inclined to step away from the crowds for fireworks viewing. it is just me and the kiddo, a special trip for us, so I am not inclined to send him off to another section (sit up with the wheelchairs) to watch a fireworks show, I'd rather watch it with my arms around him like we do for the other shows :)

but I will definitely report back whatever happens!

The great thing about being in the back is that there's room to move, we did this and my daughter moved a bit to the left because there were tall guys in front, and then she had a great view

Perfect, thanks!! :)

And please report back @Lisa F. We don't go until the 20th, so plenty of time to tweak our game plan!

I may be repeating myself but this thing is so huge I don't think standing another 10 or 20 feet back will affect view as much as the angle and how close in front of you people are that are directly blocking... i'd rather have a good angle than be a little bit closer.
Perfect, thanks!! :)

I will for sure, I will do my best to report when I get back home on 12/10 (well getting home the day before, give me a day to chill lol)

Does anyone have experience with rain cancellations for this show? we have reservations tonight, I'm not sure how things will pan out in this drizzle.

Just throwing in my two cents here :wave2: - we went for Thanksgiving weekend and saw the show the day after Thanksgiving and although the park was still quite packed, we got there about 45 minutes prior and had a great view and weren't that far from the roped off people that went to the party. =)

I don't have any experience with this particular show, but I do have experience with the Star Wars show this past October. We had gone to DHS in hopes of seeing the fireworks show. It started to rain about an hour or so two before show start. We hung around hoping that the rain and lightening would pass over since the CM said that they still planned to have the show. So we waited in the drenching rain until 15 minutes before show start before giving up and leaving. The fireworks were scheduled to go off at 8 pm. Around 10:15pm that night I could see the Star Wars fireworks from our resort room at the Beach Club. It turns out that they finally had the show at 10:15 pm, more than two hours after the scheduled time. So long story short, they make every effort to run the show. In fact, sometimes the shows will still run if there isn't any lightening associated with the rain.

It sounds like the communication was lacking between cast and ticket holders? I was wondering how I'd find out about postponin or canceling
