I suspect folks don't need to worry about the former president taking a whole building away from owners, since 4% of the resort is owned by Disney to use for rentals. I am sure Mr. Carter is bright enough to make his ressies plenty early for the holiday season. Sounds like he has been doing Disney that time of year for a long time!

Nope, not speechless, it is just not worth the hassle of getting bashed so I deleted my post. But alas it does not seem to matter because you are still ridiculing me! Some people just can't seem to give it up! I sincerely hope you enjoyed your teasing and you got your jollies.

I'm so sorry you took this as ridiculing. ;( I did not see the original post, so had no idea you had deleted anything. It looks like Rich might have said something that was deleted too, because I see others refering to a post from him that appears to not be there.

As to the ridiculing statement. It was not intended that way at all, and as I have said before, some folks around here need to lighten up and not take themselves or others so seriously.

I too would have been thrilled to see Mr. Carter or anyone of note at OKW! I have seen lots of sports stars at WDW, but never anyone of note at a DVC resort. I will get to meet the very famous WebmasterDoc and Caskbill on Friday though!

Doesn't get much better than that! With the three of you down there we better have all the scoop on what's happening around the World!

OKW has hosted a lot of celebrities over the years, especially when it was the first DVC. It's a great place for people who are there for extended periods -- like when they used to film Thunder at the Studios.

Agreed! Anyone who was staying for an extended period would LOVE the walk in closet in the second bedroom of a two bedroom! Does anyone know what size units were in the building the Carters and crew were in? Was it a GV building, or one with lock offs or dedicated 2 bedrooms?

In case anyone is interested, Jimmy Carter teaches a Sunday School class in Plains, GA, which is open for anyone to attend. On our way back from Disney in 2002 we stopped in Plains on Saturday and visited Mr. Carter's childhood home and the school he attended. Then on Sunday morning our family went to church and attended his Sunday School class (he does a WONDERFUL job, by the way). It was such a wonderful opportunity for my children to get to see a president in person.

If you decide to stop for the class, get there early because the church fills up (and it isn't a really big church). Also, check the calendar on this website:

He isn't there every week. This website will also give you directions (although it isn't hard to find places in Plains).

Anyway, just thought I would pass along this information. We are hoping to stop again for another visit on our way to Disney. They were putting in a train tour that wasn't up and running yet, but I believe it is now.

I would guess to say IMO that 99% of the posters took Niagara2 post about OKW 1BR size and Richyams as it was intended.......as a joke.

Here is the post where a reference was made to a post by Richyams. I consider "teasing" a lighthearted jesture and not a negetive one like ridicule is. My mother always used to say people who tease are showing their love. I really did not mean for this thread to be hijacked into a discussion of semantics. I think the original poster had a good light hearted topic, and posted in the same manner. Too bad some of you have a missplaced funny bone.

That really is interesting, and tells what a "human" person he is. A very down home and down to earth person who is not at all "full of himself".

That post was referring to something the orginal poster said, not something Mr Yams posted.

What I can not understand is why just because you think something is funny, it is. Just like anything else in life, what appeals to one person or what one person finds funny may very well be the exact opposite for someone else!!!

I guess your above post about Mr Yams and I being at WDW at the same time is also a feeble attempt at humor, Ha ha. However again we differ in opinions because I certainly do not consider him anyone famous or anyone I would be excited to meet. But no need to worry about that because Mr Yams will not be at BWV and I certainly will not be at OKW.

LOL! I am quite sure that will NOT be the case! I suspect he stays a different place every time he goes to Disney. I also suspect that would be by design. BTW thanks for starting a very interesting thread. I missed it when you first posted it, and didn't find it until today. I did hear someone else talking about the security down in that area before, so that must have been the reason why.

By the way, go to see Miracle when it comes out on Feb 6. We got to see a sneak preview of it at the AMC theater at DTD last Sunday night after the marathon. Mr Carter is featured in the beginning of the movie.

Kurt Russell does a good MN accent!
