Given the amount of time that Lasseter has allegedly been devoting to that new “Monsters, Inc.” attraction that’s supposed to be opening at WDW’s Magic Kingdom in 2007. The way I hear it, he’s been regularly meeting with Imagineers & animators as they all try & get a handle on this “Laugh Floor” show. Which – just like “Turtle Talk with Crush” at DCA & Epcot – will be another one of WDI’s “Living Creature Initiative” projects.

What exactly is a "laugh floor" show? And where is this supposed to be?

OK, but whats the premise? I'm not sure I've heard this one.

I don't know the premise... But it is supposed to be similar to Turtle Talk as it will feature the Monsters Inc characters and be interactive.

If this is what it will be like, I am pretty dissappointed. I am hoping for a dark-ride similar to the one in DCA

This sounds super disappointing. They could have done so many other really cool things, but a show? Come on! Just another cheap excuse for an attraction. :sad2:

Remember that is just the rumor... A ride really would be hard to put in there cause the building is so small... Unless Noodle Station is shut and made into part of the ride...That I would agree with.

Uh, I've been on the Monsters Inc. Dark Ride. It's ok, but it isn't anything worth giving a darn about. Timekeeper was a better attraction.

Really? Then it must be really boring, because Timekeeper was a sleeper...IMHO, of course

With the exception of Roz which is a neat idea, the rest of the ride could have been built in 1955. It's ok, but I've never really felt the overpowering desire to ride in a taxi around Monsteropolis. I have felt the desire to race through the door room popping in and out of different bedrooms. It's just another example of Disney not getting what makes a great Disney attraction anymore.

It's not horrid, it's just not much of anything.

And of course, when compared to the rest of DCA, that's a remarkable improvment.

I won't be disappointed if we get a show that shares elements with Turtle Talk, is done on a much larger scale and is incredibly creative and entertaining.

I wasn't upset when Philharmagic (a show) replaced MM review/Lion King (also shows). Here, we may be getting a show for a show. If it's better, then all the better. 360 degree movies were a big deal 20-30 years ago. But, technology has taken them one step further (Soarin', Back to the Future). Timekeeper was creative and funny, had an animatronic element, but was really yet another 360 degree movie. Here's hoping that Laugh Floor (if that's what we get) becomes a headliner.

And, simply because we get it, it doesn't preclude a MI dark ride going in somewhere else. There's a lot of empty space there at the ABC theater.

I have to disagree with Yo Ho--he doesn't get it.

Would he like to see a new grand E-ticket at California Adventure? How about the Tower of Terror? Sorry--that's not what most people want. The lines at Monsters Inc. have been 45 to 60 minutes and longer every day since it opened. Tower of Terror in DCA has never had those kinds of lines on a daily basis.

In Monsters Inc. WDI has built a ride that people really want to see (and are willing to wait in line for) again and again.

Who is Yo Ho to criticize WDI for their success? And if you don't judge success by long lines and happy faces, then how do you judge it?

Turtle Talk with Crush is busy at every show in WDW, and many folks would obviously welcome a larger venue for a more elaborate show like that.

I happen to think Timekeeper was a brilliant show, but Disney was cheap at every single park (WDW, Tokyo, and Paris), and stupid, to not put swivelling seats into the theater becaue no one wants to stand for 20 minutes. However, Timekeeper is now gone from every park in which it was installed, in one of the shortest turnarounds in history for a major attraction. So, while I thought it was great, park-goers voted with the non-attendance and now it's gone. Who am I to complain that the attraction should have been kept open? Nobody.

If we look at it that way, who are we to support it being closed? Nobody.

So I guess we've nothing to discuss.

One less Dis board...

The line is long, because it's the only other half decent thing in the park besides soarin and maybe turtle talk. That doesn't make it a Disney quality ride.

I don't want an E-ticket (well I do, but for purposes of this discussion)

I want to fly with Peter Pan or go on a joy ride with Mr. Toad or careen through toon town with Roger rabbit. These are ideas that appeal to my imagination. A sedate trip through monsteropolis where I have no influence on the plot isn't Disney quality.

Mark my words, the lines will peter out when the 50th is over and Disneyland returns to normal.

Of course, inherent in your comment is that you seem to think that Monsters Inc was all DCA needed to fix it's problems. That because ToT failed, an E-ticket was the wrong answer. Or, maybe it's just the fact that from the ground up DCA sucks and throwing cloned attraction at it won't fix anything.

Even with the new Dark Ride, DCA is getting something like 1/6 the daily attendence of Disneyland and that's on its best days. Not on it's average days.

What makes WDW so great is that there is something for every age group to enjoy! Now, to tell the truth, I'm personally looking forward to my 1st time on EE far more that the MInc. show! But, I know how much MY KIDS will enjoy anything MInc. , b/c they loved that movie even more than Toy Story (as did I)! So I'll probably enjoy watching them watch the show!!

Aren't the Canada and China movies still stand-up?
