Need it for a recipe??
Pardon my ignorance, but what is it? A fruit? Herb?:confused3

It's sort of like a potato. It even tastes sort of like raw potato. It's really good in a veggie tray with dip.

I don't know if it is technically a fruit or a vegetable. It has no seeds, but it is sweet. They are light brown, irregular in shape, and about the size of a large grapefruit. The inside is white and crunchy. The closest thing that is similar in consistency is a raw potato but it is sweet and tastes really good. :thumbsup2

It is considered a vegetable. It looks like a small rutabaga on the outside and tastes like a cross between a water chestnut (my produce guy said it is closely related) and a potato.
They are very good in salads. I had a hard time finding one but they had it in the specialty produce section next to things like freaky looking mushrooms from outer space and some sort of strange zucchini/cucumber like thing.

Warning, they do go bad rather quickly once cut. Get the smallest one they have for what you need. Those puppies arent cheap. Oh and they dont freeze well..bleh!
