Jetblue out of Dulles NON-Stop!!

I just read that Jetblue will be flying to Orlando non-stop starting in May out of IAD. They are having a good sale right now too. $157 rt. I'm really excited to see some competition at Dulles. With SW starting this past fall and now Jetblue, this is great news. A little competition never hurts the other carriers. We fly United most of the time, especially since we are almost at the 50K mark for a couple of free reward tickets. Since FlyI left that left United as the only non-stop carrier. I had not flown SW yet because we like the resort bag checkin that you can get using United. Jetblue is also a participating airlien for resort bag checkin at Disney. I've already purcahsed my airfare for my April, August and October trips, but will be watching Jetblue for other deals. I guess this is why United was having a good sale last week. I thought it strange when my October tickets were on sale for $169 for great times (8:30AM down and 6:30PM home). Now I know why!

I posted here about this a couple of weeks ago. I was disappointed because my travel is in April, too early for the non-stop flights out of Dulles, but I wanted everyone else to know about it.

I got over my disappointment when my DSis and I got the $29 SWA DING fares that were announced just over a week ago. I've been wanting to try JetBlue, even after the fiasco during the Valentine's Day snow storm, but with $158 round trip airfare for two (thats $158 for BOTH of us; not each!) I feel a little better about missing JetBlue this time. I think that for $29 each way I can handle my own bags on the return trip home, although I keep hearing that SWA is supposed to be joining the list of participating airlines when some computer glitches can be worked out.

And you're absolutely right - Dulles needed this kind of competition!!!
