JetBlue is now open through January 5, 2015!

Yes!!! And Hubby and I are now booked for Nov! :cool1: We were very happy with the price!

The prices looked really good! I'm holding off waiting for Southwest. Too bad they don't release on the same day so we can comparison shop.

Got my seats right at 12. They only had 4 seats available at the 112 price for the flight down. We did good at 224 a person round trip for going so late in December.

So great they opened on a weekend. Southwest always opens on Mondays and that is so difficult.

Me too! The thought of being at work tomorrow trying to book flights would of drove me crazy. So excited. We redeemed our TrueBlue points for 4 roundtrip tickets ($992). Cost $20 for taxes!!! Price would of been comparable to Southwest airlines at the lowest prices. We've paid between $800-$1200 the last two years from NY with Southwest.

Thanks for the initial post Buzz :)

I am trying to decide whether to book the $109 going into MCO and waiting for SW to open up for the flight home, since it is more. ORH, just minutes from me, is $88 if we opted to leave a day earlier, but DH and I still do not think it is worth the risk in case of bad weather. Never booked for XMAS time before, but the fares look reasonable to me!

Hmmm, thx, going to check out the prices out of Jet Blue, just to see what they've got.

I know last year, SouthWest opened earlier than I expected, though I'm not sure when that was, but I luckily got some great prices!
Any idea when SouthWest will open this year for late Nov / early Dec and booking? TIA!

Edited: checked Jetblue and didn't see anything good at all, very high from what I'm used to, $1,156 round trip for two, wow!

According to their website, Southwest will extend their schedule on May 19th.

I booked right at 12:00 for Dec. too. Would have preferred to wait for SW to open for comparison but I couldn't pass up an $88 fare out of ORH to MCO. Once we bought that ticket we were committed to flying RT. We normally fly out of PVD but for a fare that cheap I couldn't pass it up. Return flight on 12/29 was a little higher than I would have liked ($152 pp) but with a small travel fund credit I had the total came to $235.75 pp. I'm very happy with that price for a Christmas flight. Same flights today are now $148 down & $172 back. I'll keep my eyes open for a price drop coming home & hopefully snag a travel fund credit for the return flight.

I booked flights on JB for November, for hubby and I, last night too. Was up way past my bedtime. ;) We fly from Syracuse, NY. Jet Blue had a morning direct flight that is now an evening direct flight to MCO. Was disappointed by that - but did book the direct flight home from MCO. This was also changed - from late evening to afternoon. Oh well, Jet Blue still has the best deal to Orlando from Syracuse and I'm looking forward to flying w/them for the first time. Love that we can check a bag at no charge!!

I have never flown jet blue before, how is service and do the flight opening/prices last for a while or should I hurry up and book. Flights from Austin to Orlando the week we are going are 228 round trip...not sure I will find a better deal then that ever!

JetBlue has great service and the prices will only go up so book early! Free luggage and snacks and drinks and tv.

Thanks very much, I appreciate you taking the time to answer me and checking their website, very nice! :goodvibes I didn't know you could find that info on their website. Knowing the exact date is really helpful to me, making sure i can have my points all set, and being ready to jump on asap! Do they open at midnite with their prices as well, like JB? Ok, thanks again, Three cats! :thumbsup2

I am not positive on what time they release the new schedule. I am sure if you posted a thread asking what time Southwest usually opens the new schedule someone here would know! :thumbsup2

JetBlue released the latest schedule on Subday at around 12 noon! I wasn't expecting that.

I'm sure you are right on that, there's almost always somebody who knows what's up with the latest quest for info, lol! Thx! :goodvibes

Hmm, yeah, I wouldn't expect that on a mid Sunday, either! Well, I'll be watching SW starting that weekend before May 19th, just in case and stalking after midnight, very early Mon morning, lol!

I will be waiting to book our flight home when the next batch of fares are released from SW, but I don't have any idea what time they will open. Just had to share my excitement on booking my trip to MCO from PVD tonight for our Christmas trip.:cool1: $109, seats all picked out, and not playing the waiting game for what I think is a good price for the time of year, although I have never paid this much for any trips to Florida in the past.

Not worried about the flight home as much, as I hope to get stranded at WDW forever!:) Only kidding, but I figure we can fly out of TPA if MCO flights are priced high, as we are thinking of renting a car for a couple of days before coming home. First time in 38 years that I will have a little winter warm up! At least I think it has to be warmer than MA some days!:scratchin
