We will be flying JetBlue for the first time in 2010.
We have only flown SWA in the past.

How is JetBlue ?

Do the pilots have years of experience - excellent pilots ?

I know they have had no major accidents in the USA per the TSA website.

Should we bring our own earbuds for the TV's ?
Anything else we should bring ?

We are in row 8 on the flight to WDW and in row 7 on the flght home.
I think in front of the wing of the plane.
Do you think those are good rows ?

Our flight from NY should be about 2.5 hours or a bit less.
Maybe they serve a snack.
Was the snack good or should we bring our own ?

Decent room for a small bag to slide into the under seat storage ?

Please tell me about your JetBlue experiences ?

Thank you ! ;)

Hi!! We were also SW regulars til our last trip. We flew JetBlue in Sept for the first time. We loved it! We are booked on JB for our Dec trip also. The plane was very clean, the flight crew friendly & professional. However, they didn't have the songs or jokes that SW flight crew have. We didn't care tho because we had TV!!! The tv's are great, made the time go so quickly. I printed out a TV listing before we left so we didn't have to "channel surf" but could watch what we liked. We don't like ear buds, so we brought our own head phones. We tried their cookies & nuts but I didn't really like them. So we also had some chips of our own. But we don't care much about snacks, we can live for 3 hrs. without them! One of the things I really liked was the assigned seating. After years of flying SW & scrambling to try to get "A" seating, it was so nice to not worry about that, especially for the flight home...I didn't have to line up someone to check us in @ the 24 hr mark. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did!:)

LOVE Jetblue.

We too fly out of NY (JFK) and their terminal is only a couple years old- very state of the art and a nice change from the dilapidated Delta terminal we were used to.

We have taken a few Jetblue flights down to MCO now, and have no complaints. Excellent crew, comfy seats, plenty of legroom/storage space, snacks nothing great, but you can pay for an upgrade- they send around a menu!

I think you will enjoy the personal TV's as well!

Happy Jetting! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for your replies.

We did switch to JetBlue from SWA because fo the A-B-C seat order.

I do hope the do check ID's well before boarding - even with the 24 hour check-in offer. I like when an airline knows well who is flying with them.

I will get everyone their own earbuds. A fun gift to be under our Christmas tree this year.;)

I will also print out the TV listing from the JetBlue website if it is listed.
I am not sure if it will be totally accurate - since JetBlue may change the TV lisitings since they flay to many places.

Thank you again ! :thumbsup2

Channel lineup shouldn't change - tv broadcast is provided by, I think, DirectTV. Or the Dish. Satellite, anyway. It hasn't changed in the years I've been flying JetBlue :)

The new T5 terminal actually opened last fall (right after my trip to San Diego). I was bummed because it was originally supposed to open just before and they delayed it. I did get to check it out earlier this year - very nice (and good eats!!)

Love Jet Blue, they are my favorite airline; I've flown them a number of times. I forgot to bring headphones, they sold them for $2 each on the flight. My DD and SIL used their IPod headphones.

Assigned seats, 1 free checked bag, free TV! They have a selection of snacks: cookies, animal crackers, blue chips, a snack mix.

Best of all, no stress about boarding and checking in like with SW. Our boarding passes and checked luggage tags were on our door the day of departure(didn't have to do a thing); just need to take the bags down to the RAC/ME area.
