So - surprise, surprise - Jetblue changed our flights in October. We were originally on a mid-day direct flight and now it's at 8:40am. If it was just the 4 of us it wouldn't be much of a big deal but we're traveling with my ILs  and they live a couple of hours away so it's too early a flight for them.
I see that there's a $100 change fee () - has anyone managed to have this waived if the flight had been changed by Jetblue? We're thinking of flying down the evening before and spending the first night at the Hyatt at the airport (we have a bunch more people flying in from elsewhere - we had all planned to meet at MCO)
Any advice? If I call customer service will they be able to waive that fee for me?

Usually if there is a time change they will waive the change fee. Check the schedule to see which flight works out for you and give them a call.

Seeing the change was more than a couple of hours and their change, I would think they would not charge you the rebooking fee, but you may have to pay any difference in fare if it is higher. You should get a jetblue credit if lower. Call them asap to make sure there is availbility on a different flight or check the website before calling.
Good Luck!

Just wanted to follow-up and let you know that I managed to change the flight to the day before (afternoon flight instead of early morning) with no change fee and no additional charges for the flight - even though my original flights were $135 and the new flight was $209. Woohoo! Thanks!!

Yeah, JetBlue does a LOT better than most other airlines on that count. I have flown them a couple of times a year and have never had them change a flight on me. When I read the OP's initial post I was already thinking of how JetBlue would respond; I was pleased to see that they did right by them (as expected).
