I've tried the search for the answer to this question because I believe I've read it before but couldn't find it. Can you pre-reserve the jet ski excursion on CC before you go or does it have to be done after boarding? Also, can kids ride the jet skis with their parents? How much is it? Can kids do this if they don't know how to swim but they are with their parents and they have life vests on?

I got this from Barb's site:

You can not pre-book - you have to wait until you are on-board.
$95 for a single, $160 for a double.
Must be at least 8 to ride and 18 to drive (16 & 17 can drive with parents permission).
You must wear a life vest and board from the water so you probably should be able to swim.

We're leaving for our 3 day Wonder cruise today so I'll be able to give a 1st hand report early next week!

The excursion is actually an eco-tour of the island. My DD is going to school for marine biology and she was very interested in doing this on our 5/27/04 cruise. They had a guide explaining about the different trees and they drove the jet ski's out to a sandbar and were able to hold a crab and starfish. The tour group ahead of them also saw a shark in the water. There are also differing reports on how fast the jet ski's go. We were advised when we signed up and again at the safety demonstration, that it would be a slow ride. Well, it might have been because there were all adults on the tour my DD and DH did, but they had the throttles open on the jet ski's. Everyone was required to wear life jackets also.

Do you book this at the excursion desk as soon as you board? Does it fill up fast? Anybody know how many tours they do a day?

Thanks...

The times listed for the eco-tour are 9:45, 10:30, 11:15, 12:00, 1:00, 1:45 and 2:45. I don't know how quickly it fills up, but when my DH and DD took the 10:30 tour, there were only a few people and even less came in from the 9:45 tour.

I just called yesterday and asked if you could pre book this trip---the cm was super nice--- she thought she had heard that this would be possible soon --if not already so. after waiting on hold for 10 minutes she very happily prebooked this for us!!!! I was very surprised! now no ressie rush at all for me ( thanks also to reas) what will I do the first hour aboard???? :D Jill

I'm happy to hear you can book this tour ahead of time. Sounds like alot of fun from other threads I've read. Only one question...
I've never riden a jet ski. Is it as bumpy as the banana boat ?:boat:

:bounce: Thanks so much for the info. I just called and booked ours. When I caled last week they would not let me. Now I don't have to go waite in line.:Pinkbounc

Not a problem booking on-board. Will post a review on Monday from home!

We did this excursion in Apr and it was great! Since it was fairly new at the time there was no problem booking on the ship.

If the entire family is going, I would not book the 9:45 trip. By the time we got back from the tour we barely found a spot on the beach afterwards. But it was well worth the money...

Thanks for the heads up about being able to book ahead of time. I just booked for our 7-29 Wonder.
