Jet Blue vs Song

We love Jet Blue. Flying with them again in 3 weeks. I can get a $155 rt fare on Song for Nov.-Boston to Orlando. I have a small credit for Jet Blue but am wondering if I should book now with Song instead of waiting. What do you think?

I really like both airlines. Last trip we flew Jetblue down and song up, b/c of the prices.

I really enjoy song, and I like the option of buying food on the plane. I think the staff is a little nicer on Jetblue, but only by a little.

Oh and if you fly Delta you can take advantage of the Magical Express from Disney, Jetblue you can't

My answer would be: "It depends" There are a few variables at work here:

If you are travelling at a peak time, and are afraid of missing out on good prices/times on JetBlue (thus negating your small credit) I would book Song. I do this for our February School Vacation trips, simply because I know the exact date Song will release flights, and can purchase them as soon as they become available. With JetBlue, it's a guessing game, and I'm not brave enough to wait it out.

If you are travelling at a non-peak time, I would hold out for JetBlue, simply because I enjoy that experience much more (nicer personnel, better TV for this spoiled brat).

All things being equal, I don't think you can go wrong with either option.

And as far as Magical Express, you could still use them coming from Disney, you would just have to keep your luggage with you until you get to the airport and check them there.

Jetblue gives snacks, Song only gives soda. Jetblue handled our gate checked stroller several times with no incident, Song killed our stroller (they did replace it, but after a bit of aggrivation). Song allows checked bagage to weigh 50 lbs each, I believe Jetblue is about 75. Song didn't have the tv's in when we flew, so maybe that affected our decision. Also, Jetblue has a better % of arriving on time. I also have a small credit with Jetblue. All these things considered, Jetblue had a fare for our trip this Oct of about 240. Song had a similar flight for 135.40 roundtrip (both nonstop). I purchased the tickets from Song. I guess the bad aspects don't outway the savings! I also didn't want to take the chance of Jetblue's Oct fares not going done as much as I needed them to, since we are leaving the Fri of Columbus Day weekend. This is probably the best rountrip fare we have ever gotten! I will bring a less loved stroller, less luggage, and my own snacks!

I have a good-natured long standing argument with a friend of mine..he loves JetBlue, I love Song. No one is going to win this one!! We have only arrived late one time and that was due to a late departure due to weather and then a huge headwind. Instead of taking us 3 hrs to get from Boston to OIA it took us almost 3 1/2!!!! Going back was pretty fast tho.
We bring our own snacks/water so freebies aren't a big issue for us. And we have really enjoyed the tv's they have. Our FA have always been good..nice attitudes and good humor. Now, I've never flown JetBlue, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing. But I have priced Song and JetBlue (when they finally open their flights!!) and I've found that my Song airfare has usually been very comparable and sometimes less than JetBlue's. And now with Delta opening up their own terminal in Boston/Logan...well, can life get any better!!?

They are both good. While I really like JetBlue, their fares have been higher than Song's lately. Therefore I have been booking Song.

I can fly either out of Logan or Green and usually Southwest beats both of them, but SW has been very limited lately and I do like TV's and assigned seats.

The only difference is that Jet Blue is an independent carrier with typically lower fares. Song is owned and operated by Delta Airlines crew. The song planes are mostly renovated Boeing 757-200 series aircraft. Jet Blue flies 0-5 year old Airbus A320's and Embraer E190's. They both have satellite television and leather seating in all aircraft. (Jet Blue has DirecTV and Song has Dish network.) Overall, the service is equal. Wether or not you get snack mix on one or the other as i saw in an above post makes no difference. Snacks par and above need to be purchased on both carriers. The only way they should be different in is fares and flight times. The peak flights (7-11AM) and (5-8PM) generally cost most. So just pick based on fares and flight times. They are both great carriers and you will enjoy whichever one you decide to go with.

I just may have to wait until Jet Blue opens their Nov. dates. Today my April airfare went down a bit again so my small credit is getting a little bigger! We really loved Jet Blue in Nov. Most comfortable plane I have ever flown on.
