Very nice stories of how God and Jesus works, still, to this day.
I grew up in church and didn't really learn much about God and Jesus. I suppose we prayed and stuff at church but it truly meant nothing, really.
When I was about 8 or 9 we were walking into a Woolworth's store in Manahawkin, NJ and there was a man, a Gideon, handing out little new testaments. I took it even though I had a Bible at home and looked through it as we walked. I turned to the back where it talked about Jesus and accepting His gift of salvation. I had no idea what it was really talking about but I knew I wanted it! I told my mom, I wanted to do that and she was clueless and said, "later".
I believe with all my heart that at that moment I accepted Christ and what He did and who He was. I knew very little about Him. It wasn't until I was 10, almost 1, that I went to a church that fully explained it all. I was again, prayed that prayer, was re-baptized and knew I was a child of God's through Jesus Christ.
There is no blinding light like Saul/Paul, there is no "wow" factor to my story. Just a simple recognizing who God was/is and what Christ has done for me. I thank God for those Gideons who supply Bibles everywhere for people like me who want and need to know Christ.
Some people are like me and hear it, want it right away and accept it. Some people take much longer and some people never want it and don't ever accept it. We each have a choice. I think that is a huge part of the draw for me to God. He doesn't make anyone believe in Him but He does ask us to choose.
