We will be traveling the week of 10-31-04 and have heard this referred to as "JERSEY WEEK". Almsot all schools from NJ will be closed on Tuesday 11-2 & 11-4 & 11-5 for Election Day and teachers conventions.
Having neven been to Disney that week, what will the crowds be like?? Did we make a mistake booking that week.

How about the weather?

I was hoping for minimal crowds and maximum ride time.
Any and all feedback appreciated.

PS: I am from NJ also.

We are going for Jersey week too. From what I read here, it seems like it's a bit more crowded than usual. But, we are used to going at Christmas and Easter, so I think it will be wonderful compared to the crowds then.

We were there during Jersey week last year and it felt crowded to us, however we usually go during mid to late September and its very quiet during that time frame. I'm sure it is no where near the crowd levels you would see during the holidays. We really didnt have long waits for rides but it seemed crowded at certain times in the parks and on the buses. We did notice that Epcot (World Showcase) was very busy at night probably due to the food and wine festival. Like I said, I dont think your wait times for rides should be too bad so I wouldnt worry about that but the parks wont feel empty either. The most important thing is to just go and have a great time!

We've been at WDW for Jersey week and other weeks in Sept.-Nov. The crowds are a little higher then say the week before or after Jersey week but nothing compared to busy times.

The weather will be great. Still quite warm, especially for those of us from up north. Have a great trip!

Hi. Having gone a few "Jersey weeks" I would say it is definitely more crowded than you would expect for that time of year. But as has been pointed out, no where near the holiday times. Shorter hours at this time of year can also help concetrate the number of people there during the hours theya re open. I wodner if over the years Disney has realized this and expanded hours that week comapred to otehr dates that season.

Been going Jersey week the last 8 years. Only time it is really crowded is early entry mornings. Than clears out by late afternoon. I was there in June, way more crowded in June.
The weather is beautiful, pretty hot actually. For the last 8 years we only needed sweatshirts on 2 days. Once when it was pouring, the other was a cool morning and it was hot later in the day. Perfect weather for us Jersians. June was disgusting.
Have Fun!!

Thanks for the great feedback.
We also have tickets for oct 31, 2004 at the NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY, I know it has been sold out for months.

Has anyone experienced the crowds & conjestion when the party is a weekend night. Will it be worth the extra money?

Can you get on a lot of rides that particular night?

New Jersey is the third smallest of all 50 states. And really, just how many NJ folks go to FL in that week? Having said that, I will be there Nov 3-8. :)

I was at Jersey Week last year. The crowds weren't terribly bad. Don't let the title scare you! The longest wait times were about 20 minutes -- most rides were 10 minutes or less. Not walk-ons and I would expect higher crowds on election day and closer to the weekend.

I read somewhere that more people come from New Jersey to WDW than from any other state.

I'm going the week after because I miscalculated teachers convention. When we went that week a few years ago, it wasn't bad.

And our schools don't have off for election day, but we do have off for veteran's day.

I guess it depends on the school. My son's school has off on Election Day & then that Thursday & Friday for the teachers convention. We will be going next year during Jersey Week & taking advantage of the 3 days off.

Dates for the future NJEA Conventions:

2004 Thursday, November 4
Friday, November 5
Saturday, November 6

2005 Thursday, November 10
Friday, November 11
Saturday, November 12

2006 Thursday, November 9
Friday, November 10
Saturday, November 11

For at least the next two years, "Jersey Week" is the second week in November.

We are getting set for our 3rd annual Jersey Week visit. I agree with everyone else. It is relatively busy for that time of year, but minor compared to true peak times. Weather last year was absolutely perfect - we're hoping for the same this year.

DON'T FORGET!!! There is a DIS meet on Thursday, November 4th at 2:00pm in EPCOT. We are meeting by the main fountain on the side facing World Showcase. Please plan to be there and have a chance to meet and greet your fellow DIS members. Take a good look at our photo so you can recognize us when you see us. I'll wear my DIS t-shirt (it's the gray one, not lime green) and our green Home Depot Mickey heads.

Sharon - thanks for posting the upcoming dates. We just found out we have to be somewhere Halloween weekend next year and we were afraid it would make us miss Jersey week, but fortunately it won't.

By the way, NJ is one of the smallest states, but it is also one of the most densely populated states in the nation. We are 10th on the population list.

We will be there 11/9-11/16. Will we be experiencing larger "Jersey week" crowds at that time?
