Jersey week

Has anyone everyone been able to get a discount for that week or is alwas blacked out?

Our first trip to WDW was during Jersey Week lol - we had received the buy 4 get 3 free deal for that week. I think that this particular offer has only been offered one time since, but anyway, we did get a discount during that timeframe.

OMG, you two just made my WEEK! I've been stressing since the first week in November is the only time we can go, and after I had everything planned, I realized it's Jersey Week. I know it doesn't impact the parks *too* much, or at least I have read that, but I would like to avoid ANYTHING that would bump attendance.

So can someone clarify the exact dates for Jersey Week? We are getting there November 2nd and leaving the 9th. Are we hitting the peak of it or the tail end?

I forgot to post in my last post, that I have Beach Club booked RACK RATE which I would NEVER pay, so I'm hoping for a discount. I was worried that since the new FD pins have the first week of Nov blacked out that they wouldn't offer room only % discounts either. I would prefer that over FD so I've got my fingers crossed!! And my second choice is AKL, so it's really a win/win situation

Every NJ public school is closed on Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th. Some schools also close for election day on Tuesday the 6th (ours only does this when it's a presidential election), and some school district close for the whole week. So technically "Jersey Week" could be considered anything from Friday night the 2nd to Sunday the 11th. I hope that helps?

We will be there during that same time frame. I received a 20% off room and ticket PIN, but i had to call and ask and it was in my husband's name. Good luck!

Pixiedaisy, you're so lucky!!! I've called twice with no pins Guess I'll just have to wait until late summer, but boy, it sure makes ADR's hard to plan when we don't know where we're staying yet

From what I remember last year there were no general room discounts or free dining as it was blacked out (I think free dining started shortly afterwards or finished just before, but I can't be 100% on that). I was able to get an AP 40% discount though as soon as they were released.

Someone please correct me if Im wrong but Im pretty sure last year the blackout for jersey week (and other fall times) ran Sat-Sat. That was the reason that I originally planned to arrive Friday (11/2). When the FD pins came out for this fall the blackout periods started Friday (Had to add a day to the front to get FD for the week)

If you can get there on the first, you have a chance for FD when it becomes a GP

I just received a PIN in the mail today for quick service dining for stays most nights 11/1-11/16 and 11/24-11/30!! Must book by 6/17/12. We are planning on going 11/2-11/11 so this works out great! Good luck everyone!

We are scheduled to go during Jersey week. Right now we are booked at full price, but desperately hoping that when discounts come out it's not blacked out. Flights are a different story though. Ugh!

Glad to hear there is a glimmer of hope. We are scheduled to check in on November 3, can't any earlier due to flights. DH WON'T pay rack rates with no discounts, we'll be staying offsite w/o a code

We check in on the 3rd too. We are doing to Contemporary no matter what so it would just be a bonus. I could shop more. Either way Disney gets the money.
DH doesnt know and doesnt care about rates, discounts, payments. He just packs and follows me. I think you should keep you DH in the dark more. They should always be on a need to know basis. LOL.

I do not have a vacation booked yet as I was hoping for a discount. I have been pricing out vacations for November and saving them on the WDW website so maybe that had something to do with it!

I think there will be more promotions announced in the next few weeks based on some CM comments to people on the DIS. Two current promos end 6/14.

I changed our room only res so we arrive 11/1 based on the dates of the e-mail pin that some people have been getting. I just moved our current res at CBR up 3 days and then tacked on 3 days at AoA - LM. We will also have a chance to go to the Halloween party as well as MVMCP the following week. Not sure if I will keep all the days with no promo.

Magical Vacations Travel is offering a Jersey Week discount at a few resorts - looks like Poly, BC and AoA are available. We have done their discount packages at Poly before and it was a good deal!
