We are considering heading down to WDW during Jersey week (Nov 6)...election day (tues) and veteran's day (fri) fall during the week.

Compared to Aug (which is when we usually) how crowded is this week normally? Worse or less?

When in August? Versus the last week of August, it is more crowded. Not sure versus the rest of August.

The easyWDW and touringplans crowd calendars seem to agree you are looking at 5's early in the week and 6's and 7's later in the week as the crowds build. That would be slightly less crowded than early August and more so than the end of August (but at least it won't be 95+ degrees each day).

The biggest challenge that week will be all the MVMCP parties (11/7, 11/8, 11/10 & 11/11). That's 4 parties in a 5 day span. Without hoppers it won't be easy to plan around all the short MK days (and 11/9 is sure to be a mess there as the only full day during that stretch).

Do you know why that week is called Jersey week? I'm from CT and we also have that Tuesday and Friday off. We'll be at WDW from 11/8-11/14 to take advantage as well.

I'm from CT as well and had to do some research to figure it out, haha!

I found this old article from **************. Seems to be that NJ holds an education convention and NJ families then flock to Disney just because they can.

TheNJ teacher convention is on thurs 11/11 and fri 11/12 this year, if that helps. Traditionally it is the first thurs/fri in November. but it is a week later this year.

I'm from Ohio and we're heading down that week because of our kids having 2 days off also (Tuesday and Wednesday that week). That and I'm running the 10K on the 5th :) Makes for a great vacation time. In all honesty I felt the crowds last November were the same as when we went the previously July (minus the tour groups everywhere). And it was unusually hot that week and we had 90 degree days! Although it would cool down in the evenings which was nice.

We are from NJ also. We normally go the 3rd week in Aug...so I'm guessing crowds will be less, we are planning to bookend our trip with trips to Universal (beginning week and then back to end of week). Our district this year has the kids in school Monday, off Tuesday (election day), 1/2 day Wed & off Thurs/Fri. We figured this would be the best time to pull her out of school as she would only be missing 1.5 days, but I'm sure she'll be swamped with homework regardless...she normally has 3-4 hours a night.

I think this year that week will be more busy than it usually is. Most of the country has off two days that week - Election Day and Veterans Day. So it will stand out on the calendar as a good week to miss school in many states, not just New Jersey.

We have gone twice before on that week and it is normally moderately crowded on the weekends but not too bad on weekdays. I am going this week again this year and predict with election day added, it will be somewhat higher crowds.

I live in NJ and we will be in WDW Nov 4-11th. Our school district gave off the whole week in 2016 because the week includes Election Day (Tuesday) and teachers convention (Thursday and Friday). We do not usually get off the whole week.

I went this week last year (it was my 1st time) and I found it to be much more crowded than I would have expected! It was a nice week though because we got to see the Halloween decorations and the Christmas decorations. But for me, it was a tad too busy.

Not 4th of July, Christmas, or Easter busy...
But my guess is it will be almost as busy as summer vacation. So pretty crowded...

Well, I already have my reservations, park tickets, party tickets and ADR's for that week. Looks like I will be seeing many of you there! I didn't even know about "Jersey Week" when I booked my trip.

Uhmmm, this is not entirely accurate.. True the NJEA Convention falls on a Thursday & Friday, but only after Election day....Election day is always the Tuesday after the 1st Monday of the Month.. This year (2016) That 1st Mon. happens to be the 7th... The 8th(Election Day) is a Presidential election so instead of the normal 1/2 day school session, mostly all schools have the full day off. And this years Thurs. & Fri are actually the 10th & 11th.
FWIW next years Convention is also occurring during that 2nd week, kinda..It's the 9th & 10th of Nov.

FWIW, we've done it 3 times in the last 6 years....2010, 11, 14.. During these 3 trips, we've experience incredible temps. Roughly 78* to lows of maybe 55* or so..Perfect.... & the crowds were actually great...I'd say mostly 5's give or take...

This year I know the forecast sites are still saying manageable ,but I'm not so sure.....Rooms are / have been booked way far in advance, w/ not many available options left. I believe it has to do with 1) Presidential election--> Full day off from school as opposed to 1/2 day session. 2) Also Veteran's Day falls on the Fri. 11th....And the Disneys Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon falls on the beginning of Jersey week, on Nov3-6th too.

I like August as well, but it is very hot and lots of passing storms too. Crowd wise not so bad though.

Been going during the first 2 weeks in November since 1995 (also from NJ lol). It USED to be dead, but it has definitely picked up on crowds in recent years due to things going on around that time. Nothing that isn't manageable, but definitely more crowded than it once was. Last year I was there Nov 5-14th, and it was more crowded and unseasonably hot than I expected. With Food & Wine, marathon weekend (Nov 3-6 this year), MVMCP's and Jersey Week going on, it draws a little bit more crowds during the beginning to mid November. I still had an amazing trip last year. Jersey Week isn't crazy crowded and nothing like summer and holiday crowds, but you'll find more people from NJ than usual. We went to Hoop Dee Doo one night last year and it was hilarious because it seemed the whole place was filled with NJ guests lol they kept joking all through out the show about it. On Veterans Day, I made sure to stay away from the WDW parks, and used my Universal/IOA ticket that day and that was the best decision I made! Wait times on the MDE app were high. Universal and IoA were both pretty much empty the whole day, so it was wonderful and I got everything done in that one day. Also, one night MK was open until 11pm on 11/6, on a Friday night, so after Hoop Dee Doo we took the boat back to MK and the park was SO great, and we walked on a lot of rides. It wasn't an EMH night and it was perfect and one of the best nights as far as crowds go, besides our mvmcp night on Thursday 11/12 - it was the best party I've been to. It wasn't crowded at all, and we were able to walk on everything.

Epcot will be more crowded due to F&W. I stay away on the weekends. I actually enjoy Epcot more when F&W isn't going on, but they've been extending it. It used to end when we would arrive which was great. I even went on a Tuesday and it was still SO crowded. More so World Showcase than Future World. I love Epcot, but I cannot stand wall to wall people in WS lol so if we can avoid the festival from now on, we will.

I usually love the weather that time of year - we have been spoiled through the years with near perfect weather. No humidity, no rain, high 70's to low 80's during the day and 60's at night. But this past November, it was crazy hot - like September hot! I was so glad that I was prepared and packed for it. I was surprised that the whole 10 days, we only got a quick shower one night and one overnight. Hopefully you'll have better temps this November!
