Jersey Week crowded?(1st week NOV)

I have been to WDW a few times during Jersey Week. The crowds are usually at a moderate level. Much less than Easter week or Christmas week, but also more than most other weeks in the fall.

You will wait in short lines for most rides. Except for the very popular rides, the lines will probably be less than 15 minutes. For some rides, there will be no line at all. If you use Fast Pass, you can get into most of the popular rides with a minimal wait too.

If you have the option of going another week in the fall (except for Thanksgiving week), the crowds will almost certainly be less. The week before Halloween will probably be less crowded than Jersey week.

Thanks for the information!!!! Will investigate switching dates of our reservations.

Jersey week -

To all you folks who might be concerned about larger crowds during the first two weeks of November:

Please remember that you will be missing the chance to meet some very nice people, who just happen to be unable to find anything better to do in NJ. Of course there isn't anything better to do than WDW! They laugh, cry, get excited on BTMRR, and they are very knowledgable about all things Disney and would be quite happy to meet you! Have a great trip whenever you decide to go!! Peg & Bob

P.S. We go in the summer as half of us is a teacher and we spend more time in the World than we would be able to in the Fall. (Besides, there are a bunch of nuts from Jersey in the Fall.) LOL

I really want a increase our chances of doing more rides at MK than we did at Legoland. (We missed quite a few fun rides at Legoland (CA) because family did not want to stand in long lines.)

Perhaps this Fastpass thing will allow us that opportunity, no matter how many people are actually in MK. Probably less people there first week of November than in some other months

We met our NJ friends (my dh is a NJ native) the first week of November. Didn't find it crowded, found it comfortable. Keep in mind, MK is crowded most of the time. Best advice for fav rides is to use FP and get there early.

We enjoyed that time too because the weather was just right. It was not nearly as busy this time as I heard it's been the last month! October is an "iffy" month weatherwise. THere are a lot of conventions in October too, they may book up many of the resorts but the parks may not be crowded.

Go for the first week into November otherwise you will run into the Vet. Day crowds.

We went last year during Jersey week. We were so stressed about the possibility of larger crowds, but the stress was entirely unnecessary. I would suggest that you not change your plans.

I would never suggest that anyone worry about "Jersey week." I usually go for Veterans Day and have absolutely no problems with crowds, assuming that I avoid the MK on weekends. MK is much easier on Tuesdays-Thursdays. Even on a weekend, any day but Saturday is easy to do with Fastpass use. I avoid Saturdays at MK whenever possible.

It's also noteable that weekends may be much busier in Epcot's World Showcase due to the Food & Wine Festival. Locals like to come for that on Saturdays and Sundays, but come Monday the crowds and lines are pretty much gone.

We went two years ago during Jersey Week and were surprised to find out how many people from NJ can be there in one weeks time!! :teeth: I think we were the only non-NJ people on our plane and everyone aboard was going to WDW! It was a great trip, however we made sure we were at each park by opening and left in early afternoon when the crowds were at their peak. For MK it was especially importatant to be there at or before opening as we had a 2 yo DD who wanted to do all of Fantasyland. We went to MK only on weekdays. By being there early we were able to walk on or have a short line for most rides. Later in the morning or early afternoon as we'd be heading through Fantasyland to leave those same rides such as Pooh and Peter Pan that we had walked on were now posting wait times of 55 and 60 minutes. So just be prepared for that if you have little ones.

We had gorgeous weather all week and lots of cms asking if we were from NJ! :)

I saw a big difference one week can make.

We go to the Food and Wine show the last two years. The year we mistakenly went during Jersey week , the crowds were noticabley larger,

My dh and I are going to disney Nov. 7th thru 12th. Is it still going on? It doesn't bother me, I just want to plan on how busy it may be.

Thank youprincess:

We were at WDW this past November 8-16, which emcompassed Super Soap Weekend at MGM, Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, AND Veteran's Day. The crowds were very managable. We took advantage of Fast Pass when we could and never waited more than 10 or 15 minutes for anything.

We were there during Jersey Week last year, and while it may have been a tad bit more crowded, it was by no means unmanageable or unbearable.

You are tooooo funny!!! Now, since you are from Jersey maybe you can tell me. Just out of curiosity, what the heck is Jersey Week, and do all of the other 49 states have their own week, too? ROTFL

I just read about Jersey week today on another thread. Trying to figure out if it will be more crowded during Jersey Week, or the golf tournament (last weekend in October). Sort of need to know, as DH (think Grumpy:mad: ) hates standing in long lines, (who doesn't? ) and I don't want to hear him whine all day.........

Okay, I've been trying to figure this out on my own so I wouldn't have to ask, but it's starting to make me crazy. We're planning to visit WDW Nov. 6-13 so as to take advantage of value rates and still catch the F&WF while missing most of Jersey Week. But what about Veteran's Day? Aaaaaagghhhh! The only comparison I have is from our trip last year, June 12-19. Will the crowds in early Nov be more, less, or about the same? Anyone know?

Jersey week is usually the first week in November when all schools in NJ close for Thursday and Friday so teachers can attend a state wide conference in Atlantic City. Our local school closes two additional days for teacher conferences. Add in Election Day or Veterans Day and you can usually schedule a week in the World without DS missing a day of school.

We've been there for six nights the last four years and DS has only missed one day of school.

The weather is better than too hot summer, too. But if we had a choice, we wouldn't be here Jersey week either. It's not terribly crowded like holidays or the summer, but we've been told it's busier than other weeks.
