Jen's Journal.....Baby Steps to a new me

Hii everyone--and happy saturday

Things are going okay here --Im glad the week is over, but next week has some potential problems so we just have to see how things work out.

My grandpa was having a rough day so my mom and dad just headed down to the shore to see them and check on grandpa.

Now, I am back to business--Starting Monday, I am going to start working on me again.. I want to start working out and eating better. Ive done this before and I can do iti again...Right now, im at about 160--i will do an "official " weigh in on Monday. I fgure, 4 months willtake me to January 10 and i ileave for vacation on the 11th.
As of now, here is my plan--just watch what i eat--especiially the hunk and ice cream needs to be cut down drastically. I want to drink 80 oz of water a day..I want to be sure to take my meds everyday...I want to startthe couch to 5K program

My goals? I want to get to 145 lbs by January 10--15 lbs--thats doable right?

have a great weekend guys

Nope. Don't cut back on the hunk. That's GOOD for you! :rotfl:

But seriously....

15 pounds in 4 months is definitely doable. Get a good foundation started now while the weather is good. The next 2 months or so will be beautiful, but once the cold weather sneaks in...:headache: Couch to 5k is great, and I know you'll do really well with it! :thumbsup2

 hugs for gpa and gma

Oh, and thanks for the imagestation tip...but as you well know, I'm with snapfish (since I send you pics all the time. ;) )

:rotfl: I was thinking the same thing as Kim. A little hunk might be just what we all need. Oh, cabana boy....

Jen,

I think that you have a great plan in place. 15 # is definately doable, and the exercise/eating right may also help with all the stress you are under.

 for you and family,
Beth

I agree with Kim and Beth...No cutting back on those hunks!:rotfl: ARGHHHHH! pirate:

Your goal is completely do-able...I know you CAN do it, Jen!

I hope work goes well for you next week.:goodvibes

Keeping your grandpa, your dad, and your family in our prayers.:grouphug:

Try and have a relaxing weekend.

oooo i want the hunk...send one this way--pleaseeeee

Tonght was a good night--i babysat and made 75 bucks :) not too bad!!

FOOOTBALL time tomorrow (well really today ;)) I cant wait!!

Thanks for all your words-- i so appreciate them!

My grandparents will be here on Tuesday as their power will be shut off for the day due to new construction--They will be here all day--of course, i work til 5 then i have back to school night at 630...but my mom asked me to come home between--20 min drive...when i asked her why, she said that gpa is looking worse and worse everytime she sees him--and she left it at that..so not likng the sound of that

Glad you're gonna see your g-parents....even if it is only for a few minutes. They'll appreciate it!

Couch potato to 5K....I'm thinking I just might join you on this one! Breast Cancer 5K is Oct. 13......

Hi Jen,

I know that today is going to be hectic, so I am sending :pixiedust:

Good luck with the C25K. You will do great. It will also help you to achieve that goal of yours.

Take care,
Beth

Well---I DID IT!!

I know it doesnt seem like a big accomplishment, but it was about 95 degrees today and a crazy day at work..and i was invited out to lunch for my lunch b reak ---but i had eaten with the kids

so i went to the park and did day 1 of the couch to 5k----Its a 5 min brisk walk, then alternate 60 sec jogginig and 90 seconds walking...it was tough for me so i feel like an idiot, but i did it!!

ive gotten my water in and dd good on my eating...im feeling good!!!!!

Jen sweetie,

That is a big accomplishment!:thumbsup2 Sometimes, starting a new program can be tough. You stuck to your goal and turned down a lunch invitation. You did a great job! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa. :( We are keeping him in our thoughts and prayers.:grouphug:

I hope you have a good Tuesday!

I am SO proud of you, buddy! Day one is one of the toughest in that program. It's a BIG decision to start it and it's just awesome that you did. :thumbsup2

Keep up the great work, girl!

good job jen!!!
I'm still "thinking" about it and here you are doing it!!
Way to go....now stick with it!!! :cheer2:

Where's your confidence? :confused3

Repeat after me.....

I WILL DO IT!

I WILL DO IT!

I WILL DO IT!

HiJen,

Congrats on completing day 1. Kim is right. You WILL do day 2. You are a strong woman, and you can do this.

Keep up the great work,
Beth

Jen -- Thinking of you and your family. I hope all is well with you. Congrats on starting the C25k program! :thumbsup2

The oncologist at Sloane Kettering there confirmed that there is nothing they can do that will cure this cancer. They are going to try a 'mild' round of chemo to see if that will slow the spreading of the cancer. They will try that for 3 weeks, and if it doesnt help, they are going to discuss if they should try a stronger chemo or just do nothing.

Its just starting to hit my grandmother that he will die from this--they just dont know when..The oncologist did say that it is stage 4 cancer. so now we just wait

Damn Jen,

I am so sorry. This must be devastating for your family. I know that you guys KNEW, but you still had the 2nd opinion hanging there. If there is anything I can do, just let me know.
Beth
