Jennifer and Luke's PJ/TR NY/WDW HM 6/6/2010,Wedding photos up! 12/08

It can be busy during dinner, but it's usually not as busy since only Cindy, Fairy Godmother and mice are there, and it's not like a regular character meal because they only come by for a little. Eating in the castle is so nice though! :lovestruc

I'm so excited, when I had to make ADR's for our last trip I was on the phone with Disney Dining for like three hours , not even exaggerating. That was when they changed their system so there were a lot of problems. I'm so relieved to not go through that for the wedding trip! I'm also thinking of maybe doing an Illuminations Cruise and hoping IPO has better odds of getting it for me. :thumbsup2

You're the bride! You can be fancy if you want. ;)

It would be good if he could do that, or on the day you go to Montauk. It'll make her happy and sometimes it's just easier that way, you don't want her sulking all during the wedding. You're not being unreasonable at all, it's amazing how many people forget that a wedding is about the Bride and Groom, not about them!

I am very excited for it, though we are doing a lot of character breakfast there is just something so different about eatting in the castle...it makes me smile just thinking about it! I would LOVE to do an illuminations cruise...but its a bit too pricey I think and DF is afraid of water...which gets rid of a lot. He won't go on boats for long peirods of time....so like the boats from WL to MK is fine but nothing longer.

Its good to be able to say that. I am the bride..so I can dress how I wish. its once in a life time that you can say well...I can do what I want.

I tried to talk to DF about it last night but....because we had a bicker in the morning about it he didn't want to start again. so he said we will work it out. Which was better than in the morning where he was coming straight off the phone with his mom and saying this is the way it is. I think its because right after he said that breakfast came (we get take outs on sundays) and I wouldn't sit near him or talk to him for an hour. Then he was sweet as pie :rotfl: I have had a LOT of well "why does it have to be this way?" from people and me having to go..."because its our wedding and it works better for us?" Guest are rather funny I think.

I have a bunch of phone calls and stuff to do before My PS in NY! which is going to stress me. I made a list..and it is LONG and I also have all Christmas stuff to do as well! Hope I can get everything done! My mom wants to "help" with stuff because I am making everything myself. She doesn't realize that by "helping" I have to rush around and finish stuff to have for her to help with. hahahaha oh well. Its almost Christmas so I can't be too stressed I love this time of year :santa:

hey all!

I haven't posted in a while! Things have been really crazy for me with all my finals and such. So I have some updates but then I will be MIA for a while because I am going back to NY for my PS!!!! yayayayay!

First up invites. So I have FINALLY finished the etchings of my invites, the folding and graphics which I have to say was a silly thing to do when I had finals!!! anyway...my invite actually counted as a final project for my etchings class :rotfl: i'm such a jerk

I used my worked scanner which kind of SUCKS but I forgot to take pictures at home and I wanted to post them today! so the color is a bit off

I hope you have AMAZING Holidays and New Years! See you all next year! When all the 2010 brides can celebrate!

The invites look really great! Great job! It's so nice to see them all put together! :goodvibes

Aww, that stinks about DF's work schedule, but I think it is so cute you're going to have fake christmas together! What's important is that you get to spend quality time together and it sounds like that's just what you guys are going to do.

Have a great trip to NY, although I have to warn you we have a ton of snow here...so don't bring anymore with you! :rotfl: Seriously though, I hope that everything clears up for your flight.

Sounds like you'll be very busy. And YAY for your dress being in, take lots of pics for us!

Have a great Christmas (real and fake) and New Years!

Wow, your PS is so close!! It's going to be so much fun. Sounds like you really have things under control. Sounds great! Have fun. Too bad christmas will be apart, but next christmas you'll be married!

Wow! Those invites are amazing! :goodvibes

DF and I spent our first 4 Christmas's apart, and we always had a fake xmas as well. Looking back, those are some of my favourite memories, and it is so nice being just the 2 of you!

Just got all caught up on PJ! I have to tell you though that I also had similar problems with my MOH and she is no longer in the wedding. Her decision and mine. I wanted someone I could rely on and I couldn't rely on her between her school and other priorities. I hope you have tons of fun in NY! Wish I was up there!

Thanks hun! I really love them. We have kind of gotten use to DF's schedule being evil! hahaha but it was nice having our own Christmas that no one else had. Made the day feel even more special! We went and saw Princess and the Frog! I really liked it. It was a good start to our holiday festivities.

I don't know if I have seen that much snow in such a sort period of time on long island....and I grew up there! weird. I was so surprised to wake up to in on New Years Eve.

I hope you had a really good Christmas and New Years dear!

I have to say that we really enjoyed our fake Christmas...it was special and DF even helped cook! (which is rare...because he is afraid to mess food up)

Aww...i'm sorry you had problems with your MOH too.....its so upsetting. I choose to keep her in and our talks made her turn around a lot and she has been way better. It is really good of you that you moved in a direction that was better for you......a lot of people would have just dealt with it.

I'M BACK!!!! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years! I have looots to report and lots of pictures! Today me and DF need to actually spend some time together because we have been apart for toooo long.

I am very excited to say......

I'm getting married this year!!!
:yay::yay::yay::yay:

I have lot of your PJs to catch up with! I hope everyone is doing well!

Okay so here is my shot at a TR for my 2 weeks away. I had a few uneventful days and a bunch of "***! did that actually just happen?" days.

I flew in on Christmas Eve and spent a quiet Christmas with my mom, grandma and uncle. Saturday we went into the city to meet up with my flower girl to try on her dress. She looked absolutely adorable. She was also a huge sport about all the poking and measuring. We choose Lagoon for the sash
VOLUME-9A-CRYSTAL-SATIN_1.gif

I also had my make up trial
IMG_1074.jpg

Before
IMG_1088.jpg

After

okay so I don't normally wear a lot of make-up so it was SOO hard for me to explain to the girl what I wanted. So be honest. I told her a wanted silvers and some sparkled. She didn't have any actual....sparkles with her but said she could get some. Or should I just leave it?

So...that was my weekend...slow and nice...then the drama week began....starting with the florist.

okay so I had met with a local florist last June and he was very laid back and sweet. Told me that he doesn't do a lot of weddings but mine was so small it wouldn't be a problem. My mom had gone down and talked to him during the time I was away. OKay sooooo saying all that we walk in on Monday and show him my very simple bouquet. and he JUMPED away. literally! Told me that the bouquet was too complicated and he would have to have tubes with water shooting up it. Me and my mom just stared blankly and then we were like um...okay I guess we are leaving? He told us to go to another florist....which ended up being closed til mid January. Being totally freaked out and cranky we went to another florist in my old town. The girl at first was "you need an appointment with the owner" but realized I was likely to start crying immediately. She was very nice and told me that my bouquet was extremely simple and didn't understand why the guy freaked. so she said everything I was will be fine and they see no problem with it.

So mine will be all white hydrangeas, with Yellow Cymbid orchids and stephanotis with pearls in the center, and white ballet ribbon all the way down.

BM- all blue hydrangeas with pale yellow ribbon
MOH-same but with white stephanotis

DF-Orchid (like mine) and steph.
Best Man- Light blue Delphinium with steph.
GM-Light blue delph

We also will have yellow flowers for the FG, a white rose for memorial, and white petals for the cake table.

After all this we picked DF up fro the airport and then off to meet the photographer. The photographer is a guy I use to work with so I know him very well. He is a little old man and is has a lot of personality. Luke really liked him as well and I think he understood exactly what we wanted. so Yay to that!

up next: more drama!!

Welcome back and Yay your wedding is THIS YEAR! So exciting!

The flowergirl sash color is pretty. Glad to hear she was a good sport. The day we went shopping with my FG I almost lost my mind!

I really like the make-up the way she did it. It's dramatic but doesn't look like too much. I'm not sure how the sparkles would look. I've seen it in magazines and it looks nice but not sure if it might be overwhelming in person. Maybe just a little sparkles?

That is so weird with the florist! I mean I know hydrangeas need a lot of water but that's kinda extreme. I'm glad you were able to find someone else and it all worked out.

Yay for getting your photography in order and it's good that your DF liked him too, it's important for the Bride and Groom to be comfortable with their photographer.

Oh no! Sorry there was more drama!

Oh, you got a lot done! I LOVE the makeup! I'm not sure what you mean by sparkles---more of a shimmer? I am a huge makeup wear-er (not in a goth way, I just have an addiction to MAC and Sephora) and I experiment all the time, especially if I am going out for the night. The problem with shimmer/sparkles is that they don't look nice in pictures (most of the time). It can appear as though you are sweating or crying.

That is so weird about the flowers, but I'm glad you have it under control!

Oh geez...how old is your FG? Mine is like a mini adult who happens to carry around a stuffed animal...so she is mostly calm.

haha..I clearly know nothing about makeup. I thought I wanted a little sparkle...but I don't want it over done or costumey.

It was just the start of the crazy week. I have no idea why he freaked out. The other lady said it was a perfect bouquet and that it would dry very nicely.

Yeah I was a little afraid because I choose him but he was super nice and DF seemed comfortable. The photos are my top priority so....that part needs to work out.

See this is why I need people who WEAR makeup around. There is shimmer in the eye shadow (thats what she told me) but right now it looks good in a picture. I don't know what I wanted. I just wanted a little more sparkle but maybe I am over doing it. I def don't want to look like i'm crying! :rotfl: I like it more and more each time I look at it.

Let me know if I come off as a brat for all this...

Okay so where I left off was DF just flew in and we had a nice talk with our photographer....the next day I was VERY excited for. It was our taste testing and setting up everything with the venue. DF had never seen the venue (just pictures) so it was a big deal that me and my mom sort of choose it. So I had picked out a pretty dress and was all set.....when my phone rings. It is Greg the owner.....telling me that his chef is sick and he is the only one who can make the vegetarian options for us. Now i'm like....:scared1: there is only ONE person who can do this? isn't this weird? So he tells me we can just come another day...nope sorry DF is only in town for one more day that isn't a holiday and that day I am getting my dress fitting!!! So we had to go. He assures me that he can have something made for me and we will be fine. Trying to stay calm we go down there. We walk around a bit waiting to be seated, showing DF the room and view. He is very happy and excited. Says it is exactly what I described it to be and he loves it. :thumbsup2

IMG_1139.jpg

IMG_1141.jpg

We have a bar room and our room. so here is the bar and our room is through those doors.
IMG_1144.jpg

So then we are seated for lunch. They know why we are there but seriously...sometimes it seemed like they didn't. The owner comes by and asks me what I want them to make me. So I say I don't want eggplant parm because I don't want anything with red sauce for me to eat at the wedding. I really didn't want to try that because its hard to mess up red sauce. ya know? So he says my chef just made fresh veggies and he could make a pasta dish....Which I don't know if any of you are vegetarians but this is a red flag. A default veggie meal is veggies and pasta in a oily sauce. its always really BLAND and boring and tastes like crap. So I say to him. Can you make some type of sauce for it? (thinking like...lemon or garlic sauce) and explain how I don't want something plain and boring etc. he goes NO PROBLEM, it will be good.

So DF and my mom order a chicken and a fish that we are considering. We get the salad which is a vinaigrette and I really hate these but I eat it. (getting the idea I don't like things that are oily?) so the main comes..and what did i get? EXACTLY what I told him I didn't want. it was TERRIBLE. I was so mad. DF and my mom are eating and saying how good the food is and i'm FUMING. Its my wedding too and I want to taste the food!!! Mine sucks and they keep saying well it won't be the food for the wedding. Well WHY am I eating it then? This is suppose to be my taste testing. I understand someone is sick but....COME ON. So I start to tear up...I couldn't help it I was soooo disappointed. The waiter sees I am upset and I politely tell him that is was bland and oily and no I didn't like it at all. I will note here that I did not yell once. I was simply upset and I did cry a little. He asks nervously if we want dessert. clearly...we need to try it. and it is good. but ya know what? I am really hungry still.

So after all this nonsense we go out and they stupidly ask if we wanted to meet with someone......yes we are suppose to have an appointment. So we sit down with this nice lady we have never met before and are told she is out coordinator. The owner also sits down. So I bring out my cake topper and they are both confused. its too big blah blah. and i'm like.....we called a long time ago and asked!? they said NO PROBLEM. Anyone noticing a pattern? being YESSED to death...So they say they will talk to the chef. (who was suppose to be there for me to talk to..) I am also told that my cake is way too much and they can't do it. They bring out a book from like the 80s and show me 2 cakes...and i'm like THATS IT? those are my choices? Clearly this is going badly...So I am told they will talk to the chef about my cake. :headache:

Now here is the best part...We are discussing the wedding and she goes so you will come at 3 and take pictures then at 20 mins before the ceremony we will have the rehearsal. We all just stare. HUH!? But we aren't seeing each other before the wedding. "Oh thats fine the groom just won't be there" WHAAAAAT? So we are like we thought it would be a day before? No we don't do that. Now the owner jumps up and is like what is the problem? Now...DF seeing how upset I am getting goes into defense mode and says something like how ridiculous that is and how he doesn't know how anyone would be okay with this. The owner starts screaming. He says how we are impossible and that they are walking on egg shells because of us (I guess *** I cried?) Why don't we go somewhere else if we are unhappy. :scared1:
I start hysterically crying and the guy walks off. The coordinator tries to calm us down and gives us some time. Now we don't want another place, we also don't have time to look for another place. When the coordinator comes back she apologizes, says he was very out of line but assures us he has no involvement the the actual weddings. Now we are all upset and uncomfortable but we feel we need to...fix this. We go over everything and she is very helpful. We are also offered 4 main courses instead of just 3. So we have 2 Vegetarian options, 1 chicken and 1 fish. (I don't want red meat at the wedding) So I don't know what to say. This still upsets me to think about but there isn't much we can do. It happened... She has since called me and told me they can do my cake topper no problem.

we choose linens
IMG_1162.jpg

yellow table clothes and light blue napkins. (is this too much? I have thought about changing it..

So after all this I need to rethink the cake and come up with a SIMPLE design that they can do. Maybe with me buying ribbon, pearls or flowers.

SO after all that drama I think I need to post something happy.

So up next: Dress fitting and hair trial!

OMG I cannot believe how they treated you! That is crazy. And don't feel bad, I would have cried too, I'm very big on food, but I know it was more because you had been looking forward to it so much and obviously your wedding is very important. I would have been so mad too.

I'm glad the coordinator was able to work things out for you and I'm sure on your wedding day it will be good.

I don't think the blue napkins are too much with yellow table cloths. The yellow looks very pale and the napkins are only on the table in the beginning anyway, so it will be a nice pop of color. Plus when everything is all set up and you have your centerpieces there it will look much better. ;)

Sorry they couldn't do your cake, that is really annoying and probably just topped off the whole bad experience. If they aren't used to doing elaborate cakes, it would be better to go with a simple design because fancy designs can look really bad if not done correctly.

What kind of vegetarian dishes are you having? We have to think of something since DFBIL and DFSIL are vegetarian's and I want to offer a dish that looks like we put some thought into it, not just a plate of vegetables.

I hope you have pics for us of the dress fitting! :goodvibes

Thanks hun!

She's 4 now, will be 5 at the wedding but very spoiled and used to getting her way. At the store she required my attention 100% of the time. My mom was also trying on stuff and would be asking me questions and FG would start screaming and trying to get my attention again. Then she would cry when I wasn't paying attention to her. :headache: I was at my wits end. My aunt was like, oh let me know when you want to go again... and I'm thinking, definitely not anytime soon! :lmao: My aunt better understand that I will not be babysitting on my wedding day! Nor will DF! He is usually the one to play with her at family gatherings. :confused3

Good to hear that...I am trying not to over react....but I can't help it sometimes!! I don't want to be considered bridezilla but seriously....I should not leave my venue taste testing hungry.

I'm glad you like the linens (I don't want to have to inform DF I am changing something again!! :rotfl:) I wasn't suuuure. I also have a mock up of the center pieces that I did so I will post those soon.

Yeah....I have to figure it out....at least they can use the topper...tho they kept saying 2 tier cake which upset me....because I want 3! and I want my topper to take home....ya know?

We are doing a butternut squash ravioli and a stuffed pepper with veggie risotto. I don't know if they can do something similar. as a veggie...getting plain food at a wedding really is annoying so we wanted it to be goood.

EEK! I don't think I could deal with that FG drama. its cute that she is so young but she can't be the center of attention at the wedding!!! i'm not the best with little kids...thats why I choose a 7 year old, hoping for the least amount of drama.

Okay lets try and have some fun stuff! So After that day I was totally deflated but the next day we had tons to do! The hair dresser was coming early and was dying, cutting and styling my hair! DF hung around for a little while but was soon kicked out to go to play in the city. My hair dresser is family (SIL's sister) so she is really easy to work with and has been doing my hair since I was 15. She has also styled my hair for 2 proms, sooooo she knows me well. I brought some pictures but was still a little unsure. Here are pictures

These pictures have been up too long so i'm taking them down
That one piece of hair still needs to grow out...so it wasn't playing nice today!

I went a bought these sparkles that one of the other girls had in her hair (her name is failing me right now) I used the pink ones for the trial because I won't actually need them for the day. I also want flowers in the hair but I had no good pictures until after when I saw Meryll's pictures! so this is how I want my flowers in the curls. (hope you don't mind me posting these!!)

15841_210049335268_504375268_465840.jpg

15841_209976910268_504375268_465766.jpg

tho I think I will have no pearls just flowers.

Okay so after all that my MOH came! (she is really trying to make up for everything that happened) So me, mom, MOH and grandma got into the car and head for my dress fitting! :yay:

seeing these pictures makes me want to get my butt in gear about loosing the weight!! 25 pounds to go!

up next: Bridal shower!

I definitely don't think you overreacted at all. It's not being a bridezilla to get upset when people aren't listening to you about your own wedding. Being a bridezilla would have been throwing your plate at the owner. :lmao:

I know, I'm kinda freaking out about that now. When I asked them I hadn't realized she was like that. And she is so cute and so girly and will just love being a little princess. I'm going to have to assign my sister's to be on Mia-duty to make sure she behaves.

Your hair looks great! I love all the curls and the little crystals. I think it will look so pretty with the flowers in it. I do like the veil for the ceremony because it just is so bridal to me. But I plan on taking mine off for the reception.

You look so beautiful in your dress! I love the lace. You know when I saw the first pic with necklace 1 I really liked it, but then if you are adding cap sleeves I agree that it will be too much and I like how the second one seems to just float there.

You are crazy, you do not need to lose 25 lbs silly. Besides, if you do, your dress won't fit anymore! Although I do understand where you're coming from. Those Jillian workouts will help you tone up so that you feel completely comfortable and rockin' in your dress. :thumbsup2

So sorry to hear about all the trouble they gave you at your wedding location, there's no reason to be that way and it just seemed unorganized, but at least it seems like everything has been sorted out.

Your hair looks awesome, I love the curls. Where did you get the sparkles BTW? I think the hair looks wonderful with the dress. I also have to second and say that I like the first necklace with the dress, it helps balance the negative space on your chest. You look beautiful in the dress as well, you don't need to lose 25 pounds. I mean I know I wanted to get more off, but I lost 40 pounds total and my wedding is a week away, as far as I am concerned my fiance is marrying me for who I am, not for my waistline.

I can't wait to read about your bridal shower.

Oh and Star Wars weekends have been announced...we will both be there for it, my DF will love it June 11-13:banana::banana::banana:

That's great! Be sure you get there for opening. They have storm troopers around and they change the opening show which is kinda cool. There is also a great parade with lots of characters. We didn't try to see any of the actual characters from the movie but they are in the parade too if you don't need to have an autograph or anything.
