Jen and Brook's Excellent Adventure

I tired just reading your itinerary! You are going to have so much fun!

Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day. I think the tour of the WL is soooooooo interesting. I took it last May and it was fabulous. I love Ranger Joe!!!!

Cirque is a blast. It is 90 mins of non-stop fun. Time literally stands still during this performance. Enjoy!

We borrowed my mother's motor home for the trip. There were so many animals running around there. We would come out of the camper in the mornng to face ducklings & their mama in front of the door. I have some really neat photos from back then.

My DH is sort of tight also, but he refuses to stay at the Values. He's a mods sort of guy. Too mant noisy children for him at the Values! That's ok by me, I get to stay where I prefer. One of these times I will get a Deluxe, maybe in 5 years for oour 50th anniversary.:lovestruc

Okay, now I'm REALLY here and caught up!

The Yacht Club Baby!! :worship:

I am SO excited to stay at the Yacht Club! It is so beautiful! I hope I don't feel out of place since it's so fancy schmancy!

I wouldn't be going to have fun at the parks all day like I do when I'm with her.

I did let her know I "may" ride some rides, but only if they make us for agent school.

Correct. We won't be having fun at the parks ALL day - just some of the day. And the night. ::yes::

And correct again. We "may" ride some rides, but it's for RESEARCH. It's alllllllllll work. :teeth:

Just like the need to sample various drinks and meals. All for you people, it's all for you! :rotfl:

My Day 1 plans so far....
On Sunday, Aug 14 I will most likely have to wake no later than 5:30.

I am so glad you are an early riser. I am NOT. But, I will get up. You might have to bring a cattle prod though...:rolleyes1 And don't worry, I sleep like a LOG. You can even turn the TV on and I'll sleep through it...do whatever you need to do!

But, with some of those early mornings we have, I might be asking you to make extra loud noises or shout "BROOK!" when you wake up so I do too!

I will get checked into All Star Movies!

asmv13.jpg

I hope you enjoy it! I really did. It's such a cute resort!

Your plans for your arrival day are great! How wonderful to have a DIS meet and a tour of OKW.

I'll head back to the Yacht Club and hopefully get freshened up around 3. We are to meet in the lobby of the Yacht Club at 3:45. I am assuming I may run into Brook before that. And possibly Mindy and Patty. I'll give them my phone number so we can text or call each other if we want to meet a little earlier.

I have myself scheduled to leave DHS at 2:30ish and head toward the Yacht Club to get checked in.

I also have these to pass out.

I also made myself another shirt to wear on our ship touring day!

I'm looking forward to the shirts! Have you gotten them in the mail yet? Also, what did you make for your cruise shirt???

At 6:45 we have a Welcome dinner and opening session at the Norway Loft in Epcot. I have tried to find info about this place, but it is very limited.

At 8:30 we have a dessert Party at Eau de France. Since Illuminaions is at 9, I assume we will have a nice front row seat for it.

I'm looking forward to both of these! :hyper: I hope they let us take pictures otherwise we'll have to weep on each others shoulders Jen!

jenseib said:
After that, the night is ours. I don't think I will be heading to any other park this night...but stranger things have happened. I'll see what my fellow TA's want to do. Maybe we'll do some exploring of the Yacht Club, or hit the pool/hot tub. Or just konk out for the night...though I tend to be a late nighter on vacation....well at least till 11! :rotfl:

The Tiki Room re-opens this day. I kinda want to hit MK quick to check it out, but I know we'd have to RUSH. So we'll see. I'm up for whatever! SAB sounds mighty fine too...

We start out by meeting in the lobby of the Beach Club at 7:10. We then head over to Cape May for breakfast. I have only had 3 breakfasts at Disney so far, and this is my favorite one. Or it was a few years ago. I hope the food is still as good.

We have to be up, dressed and presentable by 7:10.

Ugh.

Seriously Jen, bring a cattle prod!

However, the thought of breakfast with Minnie, Donald and Goofy in their adorable beach gear might be enough to get me going. I LOVE this breakfast!! YUM! We had it in September 2010, soooooo fun and GOOD! Any predictions on how many cups of coffee I'll drink? ;)

jenseib said:
Around 8:30 we head off to Port Canaveral to tour the Disney Dream!

I cannot wait for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I might try to hideaway on the ship though....:rolleyes1

jenseib said:
I am so excited to see her again and to take some pictures of things I missed! :thumbsup2

Don't forget to get a picture of the Aquaduck sign.

:rotfl2:

Sorry, had to!

At 3 Pm we head to AK for what is listed as a park experience. I have no clue what that means. We've all talked about the possiblities. I wonder if they will take us on a few rides or if we'll get a taste of the new african Safari trek tour, or if we are just shown bits and pieces of the park itself.
It wil lbe fun I'm sure though, and AK was a park we skipped this past Spring, so it wil lbe nice to go back to it.

I'm super curious as to what they are going to show us! Logic would tell me they would show their Travel Agents the flagship park, Magic Kingdom, first. So, why AK? Hmmmmm....

jenseib said:
The other girls have talked of possibly going to Jelly Rolls or a place with music. But at this point I have declined to join them. I will now have been at WDW for almost 3 days and not yet been to MK...so my plan at this point and time is to head over there. The park is open till 11, so that should give me a couple of hours to explore and have fun and just do whatever.
Since I have never been to Disney in Aug, I'm not sure hwat the crowds will be like in the evening, but I'm hoping it won't be too bad.

I'll for sure be meeting up with Joe and Henry at some point. So, I'm up for some MK (Tiki Room must do!). I'm not sure how late Jellyrolls is open, but perhaps we can hit that late night....:confused3 That day is supposed to be pretty heavy with crowds, but if we go with little to no agenda, we'll still have fun!

Aug 17, ~ Wednesday

Another fairly early morning for us. We start out a 8 AM in the one of the Yacht Clubs Convention rooms for a breakfast buffet.

I am excited about getting a breakfast buffet everyday. I love, love, love breakfast. Though, I might bring a tent to put around me so my fellow TAs and friends don't see how much I can pack away at breakfast.

I am also looking forward to the seminars! I think we will all learn a lot and it will be very interesting!

I haven't ever explored the campground - or even set foot on it! So that will be a highlight for me.

jenseib said:
The tentitive plan right now is that we wil lbe taken to La Nouba that evening. I am VERY excited about this and I really hope this comes through for sure.

ME TOO! Joe has NO interest in this and due to his low eyesight he wouldn't ever enjoy it.

I think it would be fun for all of us to go to the Ft. Wilderness campfire one night! We could roast marshmallows and sing along like big kids! :goodvibes

I'll get you all caught up on my half of the plans!

Again, I'm Brook. Jen's roommate and fellow-TA. I live in Queens (New York City), with my husband Joe and my almost-4-year-old, Henry. I LOVE my job as a TA and have been honored to meet and plan trips for some fantastic people in the short amount of time I've been doing it!

I am writing a report right now of our Feb/March 2 week adventure to Disney World HERE. I also managed a solo trip in May I have yet to write about. I am shocked, and blessed, to be getting to go to Disney again this year!

I am very excited to be Jen's roommate! I can't wait to meet her - and the other lovely ladies coming from our agency. I think Jen and I will get along wonderfully and between the two of us will surely have the Yacht Club, it its entirety, photographed!

We, myself, Joe and Henry

1239896248_VrJeE-L.jpg

will be arriving at Pop Century on Friday, August 12 - ONE MONTH from today! Can I get a "Woot woot"?!

We arrive very late, so our plan that night is to sleep.

Exciting stuff.

The next morning we will sleep in and try to make it to Animal Kingdom by 10:00ish.

1210878463_xqWKS-L.jpg

We will FastPass Kali River Rapids if Henry is feeling brave, otherwise the Safari. Hit up the Boneyard for my boy while Joe and I swap on the Single Rider Expedition Everest line, and we will do one show of choice. I don't care which one - thought at this exact moment, I'm leaning toward FotLK.

At 1:30 we have a lunch ADR at Rainforest Cafe. We have eaten here before, but never at AK. I have a gift card AND a coupon, so it became very attractive for a meal. I think Henry will get a kick out of it too - the last time he has been inside one was two years ago, so he wont' remember.

We will head back to Pop after lunch, nap and SWIM! My boys love their pool time, plus it's AUGUST, so it's a must.

That night we'll either do MK or Epcot, whatever we are feeling and just roll with whatever at that park, grabbing QS for dinner and hopefully seeing the fireworks.

1212067963_ah9pp-L.jpg

The next day, Sunday, August 14...we will get up EARLY (early for us non-Rope Droppers anyway!). And I will make Rope Drop. If Joe drags behind, he'll be left! I've informed him of this, and he's fine with it. It might actually work out better...who knows. I will be making Rope Drop at the Magic Kingdom!

1201640587_EBhB5-L.jpg

We will FastPass for Space Mountain and ride the Indy Cars, then Peter Pan, BTMRR, Splash Mountain if Henry is brave (the drop intimdates him), Pirates, and the "Flying Blankies". Lunch will be had at the Tortuga Tavern, if open - or Pecos Bills.

We will then ride the train to the front of the park and bus back to Pop for nap and swim time!

That night we will repeat our previous night at whatever park we didn't do - MK or Epcot, and hopefully see the fireworks.

MK is open until 2 AM, so we might be a bit wild and stay up past 10:00. We've been known to do that. ;)

Now, onto Monday, August 15.
Once again I will be making Rope Drop - hopefully Joe will be there as well-this time at DHS.

1210746715_D4qY5-L.jpg

Run with the bulls for TSMM, then over to Star Tours. I'll try to RIDE them both versus FPing them. Then we'll go see Disney Junior, followed by Joe and I swapping on RnRC with the Single Rider Line. Henry will either be enjoying a snack while he waits, or we might try to squeeze in B&tB. After, we'll go to the HIStK playground until we are hungry for lunch which will likely be at Pizza Planet - or perhaps Starring Rolls. I much prefer Starring Rolls, but Pizza Planet is a fave of the little man.

After lunch we will do the Animation Studio and the Backlot Tour (which yes, I like! )

I will kiss my boys good-bye at 2:30ish and head toward the Yacht Club to check in for the AEP! And you know the plans from there!

Each night I'll probably hook up with Joe and Henry at some point. I am also going to ask if they can use SAB while I am in the conference. If you don't know me, Henry LOVES to dig in the sand. We had the opportunity to use this pool last time we stayed at the BWV due to the clown slide being closed - it was a HUGE hit. I mean, really, how could it not be????

1217384322_eATFK-L.jpg

Joe anticipates that they pretty much will wake up late, watch cartoons around the hotel room, then hit the pool. They probably won't even adventure into the parks until evening! Joe will LOVE it! He enjoys the parks, but prefers the pool and doing nothing! I'm the complete opposite!

Anyway, each night I'll see the boys (except the first night probably) and depending on what the other ladies are doing, maybe the boys will tag along with us. I definitely want some time to spend with the gals, but don't want to completely ditch my boys either. I'm sure it will be fine however it works out!

I can't waot. but I bet I crash when I get home.

My parents have seen Cirque there and loved it. My Mom was excited for me to see it. I hope it pans out. We won't know for sure till we check in though...bummer.

I still need to call and make my room requst...and call about ME AND fax my flight info.

I have myself scheduled to leave DHS at 2:30ish and head toward the Yacht Club to get checked in.

I'm hoping to leave by 2:30 too. I keep debating Epcot or DHS...then every so often think MK, but I think I'll stick with the other 2 for now...most likely Epcot.

I'm looking forward to the shirts! Have you gotten them in the mail yet? Also, what did you make for your cruise shirt???

Yes I did. They came pretty fast. I was going to post on facebook and then forgot. My cruise shirt will be a surprise. I can't show it ...you'll see why.

I'm looking forward to both of these! :hyper: I hope they let us take pictures otherwise we'll have to weep on each others shoulders Jen!

You are off a day. If you leave the 12th, yesterday was one month! So you are even closer than you thought.

I am now wishing I would've booked my departure for the Sat, instead of Fri. I see MK has late EMH's that night as well. But it would cost me way too much to change my flight.

found this ptr through Brook's TR!

Jen--I have seen you around MeMom's and Brook's TR's. If you are only about an hour away from Detroit airport you must be in NW ohio!! We too are NW ohio...but we are on the very bottom in Wyandot County! My dad is a crop farmer and DH is starting helping him out this year and also farming his own field this year on the side!

I am soo jealous of a Agent training! How cool!

Thanks for joining!

I recognize your name too!

And yes! I am in Fulton County....about 30 minutes west of Toledo.
I swear Farmers are a breed of their own. Skip is lucky I grew up on a farm or I might have to kill him! But seriously, a girl who didn't wouldn't be able to handle the hours and things he does. Many people would walk...but since my Dad was like that (which is SCARY :scared1:) I am used to it and more patient. I SWORE I would NEVER marry a farmer...and then went on to marry one of the worst kind ..a Dairy farmer. At least my Dad had some time off in the winter.

You ladies are going to have soooo much fun!!! All in the name of research, of course.:rolleyes1

Brook, you know that Jen could probably rustle up a cattle prod, being a dairy farmer's wife and all......:rotfl:

I don't see why the boys wouldn't be able to use SAB, you are a guest after all.

Your plans look great!
You'll love the YC. I was there in November for a conference and fell in love. It's such a great resort.

I agree - the Yach club does look fancy schmancy, but I would sure love a chance to stay there. Especially since its not on the DVC radar.

Brook - I must admit - I am starting to have trouble keeping up with all your trips. You are "almost" as bad as Jen Jolt!

I need to fax my airline info as well, and call for room requests, and arrange our ME, and purchase the QDSP and adjust me off the reservations that I'll be at the Yacht Club! I always do my stuff LAST and my client's first, so I'm waaaaaaaay behind on our stuff! It'll get done though, it always does.

I am SUPER curious about your cruise shirt now!!!!

I wish I could say the same about caffeine. I really should work myself off it. I am a total addict! I'd probably sleep a whole lot better if I didn't drink so much of it.

You are too funny about the buffets! I'm like that too. And I LOVE breakfast. The combo is dangerous.

I can't remember what time it starts either - 8 sounds about right. It has been on our list for many trips now and we have yet to do it. It would be something all of us ladies would enjoy, and Joe and Henry would too. I'll keep it in mind as an option!

You are too sweet to have a present for Henry! He will love you forever and a day. :goodvibes

You are right about the day! My ticker didn't say a month until yesterday, so I just went by that. I hope it's not off! But all well. It won't get changed, I'm just not dealing with it.

Brook - I must admit - I am starting to have trouble keeping up with all your trips. You are "almost" as bad as Jen Jolt!

I am thrilled for the chance to stay there too! And for so CHEAP. Seriously, it's stinkin' cheap. Disney knows how to treat their TAs! :yay:

I am having trouble keeping up with my own trips. I need to get that 2 week TR done so I can do the May and not confuse them all! Thankfully I took very good notes during the 2 week trip (except the last day). But NONE during May. This one will be a trip full of notes again.

I do know we have one. I know they don't use it often because they don't like it, but there is one around. :lmao: Think I can gate check it like a stroller?

:lmao:

Joining in a little late. :)

Hey Sarah!!!!!

Yesterday I searched the DIS and found a few really adorable countdown calendars. I showed them all to Henry and he chose one....

Stand in awe of my awesome cutting skills. :lmao: In my defense, I was in a hurry and completely distracted by Henry while doing this, so NONE of them are straight or uniform, but all well! He loves it and that's what matters!

smugshot831265-L.jpg

They print out at about 4x4 size, then you can bond them together (glue, staples, hole punch & string, etc), and rip one off for each day. It's a super cute and very easy countdown!

This morning we adventured to Target. Getting to Target in Normal World is easy - hop in the car, drive, park, shop, put purchases in car, go home. In NYC, it's an adventure. And not always a fun one. We have 2 Target's in Queens and there is one in Manhattan. We (my SIL and I) chose to go to one here in Queens that we had never been to....which turned out to be a great decision! The bus located only a few blocks from home whisked us away and from door to door it only took an hour. And NO subway stairs! :woohoo:

We shopped and I bought way too much...as usual. Thankfully I also purchased a little hand cart to pile my bags into so I didn't have to lug them all down the blocks to home from the bus!! Love it! I'll never leave for shopping without that cart again.

smugshot8340783-L.jpg

$8 - for Henry, isn't it cute?

smugshot9304158-L.jpg

Stuff for the hotel rooms and villa. Did I mention I'm staying at Pop, Yacht Club AND Old Key West this trip? The boys switch over to OKW while I'm at the YC, then I'll join them again on Friday....but we'll get to that. :goodvibes

I think I have everything on my shopping list done other than water shoes for all 3 of us, which I will buy online.

Inevitably I'll think of something later that I forgot.

I love your countdown calendar.
Target is one of my favorite places! I usually go to the one in College Point.
Love the shirt you got for Henry!

AN HOUR!!! I live 15 minutes from my choice of 3 Targets. Sometimes I end up going to more than 1 in a day. I couldn't imagine it taking an hour!:scared1:

We shopped and I bought way too much...as usual. Thankfully I also purchased a little hand cart to pile my bags into so I didn't have to lug them all down the blocks to home from the bus!! Love it! I'll never leave for shopping without that cart again.

Where is the photo of the hand cart? I am wondering if its like the one I have. We can walk to at the present, 1 grocery store and 1 pharmacy. Our Bloom grocery store went out of business. That was across the street-down a block!! I miss it. They're going to be opening a new Harris Teeter a few blocks away in a year.

$8 - for Henry, isn't it cute?

Stuff for the hotel rooms and villa. Did I mention I'm staying at Pop, Yacht Club AND Old Key West this trip? The boys switch over to OKW while I'm at the YC, then I'll join them again on Friday....but we'll get to that. :goodvibes

I think I have everything on my shopping list done other than water shoes for all 3 of us, which I will buy online.

Inevitably I'll think of something later that I forgot.

Why the water shoes? How long will you be at OKW? I'll be at Saratoga with Henry and Heidi (and our friends the Gerrig's) until the 25th.

I don't know if Patty is an early riser? I am not usually. I can wake up... but I'm usually too tired to get out of bed. I am a recovering night owl. I've never made rope drop... but I did once make it into the WS entrance to EPCOT just at 11am.:rolleyes1

I also love the Cape May CB. I actually made an ADR there for my family and our friends for during our post AEP stay. I don't have my own file with me here in Texas so I can't tell you when right now. They have bagels AND lox!! :woohoo:

Love the purchases! :thumbsup2

I keep picking up a few snacks here and ther for the plane ride.
I wish Skip would come down with Claire, but he gave me a big NO!
