Jen and Brook's Excellent Adventure

But at this point I have declined to join them.

The park is open till, so that should give me a couple of hours to explore and have fun and just do whatever.
You mean you have decided NOT to join us..... we have also talked about going to enjoy the resort pool, Storm along Bay because that one is never included in DVC parkhopping and Brook and I are both DVC.

The park is open to ?? Seems a few words ran away!!

There's a difference between catholic guilt and jewish guilt? :rotfl:
No... there is not. The only difference is the food they stuff you with at the table. Both stuff you with food and think you look too thin!! :rotfl2:

Looks like another full day. MK at night, :goodvibes. According to the crowd calendar, it's a 6 out of 10. Should be manageable. Everyone will be over at Epcot for EMH until midnight!!

We gotta be over there to cover the riot that is going to break out when the EMHers find out the monorail isn't going to be running them back to their resorts... all except for those folks staying at the Values, Mods and at SSR and AKV. Seriously!!! WHAT in the world made someone at Disney think this was going to be a good idea? And of all things... to eliminate the "green" transportation in favor of stinky buses with lesser capacity?:confused3 I would think the smarter thing to do would be to eliminate the buses to the monorail resort and only go with the monorail itself.

Your solo time and agent training sounds great! I can't wait to see if you guys get any inside scoop or tips you can share!

I guess declined to join doesn't make since, does it? LOL! And MK is open to 11. I need to go back and add that....I guess I was hoping for mind readers. :lmao:
I do want to hit storm along bay too. One night for sure. If we don't hit DHS on Monday then I'm all for the pool too.
I think them stopping the monorail for EMH's is INSANE!

That is another busy day but what could be better than being busy doing tons of stuff in Disney World?:cloud9:

It's my favortie kind of busy!

Sounds like a really cool trip! Seeing what is behind the magic is going to be really neat!

As for leaving Clare behind, when we were younger my mom did a trip with out us, told us she and her friend were going to Epcot (this was before Epcot was a big deal), she didn't tell us she went to all the parks until we came back. Naturally we were upset, but she brought back presents so that made up for a lot!

I can remember throwing fits when my parents would go on trips without us...just hoping they would change their minds. It didn't happen too often, and I of course had no clue that airfare and all were booked and very likely not to be changed for some bratty kid. :rolleyes1 And we always had fun while they were gone...and of course got great little gifts.

I can't wait. I always say I want to resort hop, but I never want to take away any precious time. Now I'll get to and actually see rooms as well.

I think the same thing - I always think I'd love to take 1/2 a morning or something to go do this but when it comes right down to it, I'd rather be in the parks. Can't wait to see those pics!

I think MK that night is what I'd be choosing too!

I just can't go and not do MK at least once. I'm also trying to see if I can work it in on any other evening as well.

I always have such a hard time just taking a day away from the parks. We are there for so short of a time I hate to miss anything.

Aug 17, ~ Wednesday

Another fairly early morning for us. We start out a 8 AM in the one of the Yacht Clubs Convention rooms for a breakfast buffet. At 8:30 we start a seminar.
At 11:15 we will be going to Fort Wilderness for some site inspections. This will be fun. I have basically not gone too far into the campground in the past. We have done HDDR twice and didn't explore too much.
Lunch will be at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. I ate there once in the past and really enjoyed it.
After lunch we will tour Wilderness Lodge. I am VERY excited about this. This is on the top of my lists to hopefully stay one day. I just love the look of the place.
This will be followed by tours at Bay Lake Towers and Grand Floridian. My Mom loved the way the Grand Floridian looked when we had breakfast there and I'm sure she'll want to see a lot of pictures from there.

After all our touring we will make a stop at the Yacht Club to freshen up. The tentitive plan right now is that we will be taken to La Nouba that evening. I am VERY excited about this and I really hope this comes through for sure.

We are on our own after that. I have a few ideas for after. Possibly some DTD time...or headed back to MK, which is open again till 11 PM.

Get a milkshake at the Whispering Canyon Cafe! They are out of this world!

But don't ask for ketchup, or volunteer for the pony race! :rotfl:

Your trip sounds so exciting - WL is top of my list of resorts to stay at (someday) too. DH went on a business conference way back (7 or 8 years?) and they stayed at the Grand Floridian! I asked him how it was and his answer was "it was okay"! The kids and I were so jealous of him going on that trip, but he did take to Disney that summer (but we didn't stay at GF!):rotfl:

Wilderness Lodge is on my list too!:goodvibes I'm trying to convince DH that we need to visit and have dinner, but he hates to have ressies outside of the parks (except 'Ohana) because it cuts down on park time.:lmao: I think this trip Madelyn would love to visit the Tri-Circle-D Ranch for the petting zoo.

We stayed at WL a couple years ago. Definitely loved it and would love to go back! We went to WCC for dinner before MVMCP last year, and it was just so pretty with all the decorations! Excited/jealous you get to see the GF! That is my "dream" hotel. I can never convince my friends that it is worth the $ to stay there though lol.

We camped at Ft Widerness the last time that we went with our boys. I really loved that area. In fact the only park that we visited during our short stay was Epcot. We decided to spend the rest of the time at FW! There were so many things to do there & the boys didn't really care about the MK!

Another fun busy day! We stayed at WL our first trip and loved it. What a great opportunity to check out a lot of the resorts while still sneaking in some park time. I agree - you have to get to the MK at least once!

What? MK isn't on our itinerary for the AEP? :confused3 I never really noticed. Since I'm staying an extra week, I guess I didn't think about that. You certainly can't skip MK.

We ate at WCC for Thanksgiving dinner in 2007. We had a really nice dinner. There weren't any antics over ketchup or anything that I saw that night. We had a pretty secluded table near a fireplace. It was cozy. Maybe because it was Thanksgiving they were keeping things less kitchy. The food was good, but they served pumpkin pie for dessert. It was family style, not buffet, so there wasn't another choice. Only myself and my brother in law like pumpkin pie so the others were bummed that we didn't get apple. So, last Thanksgiving, we went with Chef Mickey because it was a buffet. More choices. :goodvibes

Joining in late but I made it. :yay:

The plans look great.

WCC is awesome. and You have to ask for ketchup. We ask for it even though we really don't need it. It's just for the fun.

Yeah, Skip wopuld never appreciate GF either. He would gripe about the money though. LOL! Maybe some day we can stay 1 night at a deluxe of my choice!

I have always just had this urge to stay there. Al lthe pictures are gorgeous. And the one time we ate at WCC I thought it was so beautiful. Skip just couldn't beleive it would cost more though. :lmao:
I always say I want to try more of the non park activities, but I would really need to stay 2 weeks to get everything in that I wnat to do.

Late, Late, LATE to the party... again! Must go back and catch up!

Welcome!! Glad you made it. We really don't have a lot posted and I'm sure we're all still doing planning and brain picking. LOL

I can't convince Skip that anything but a Values is worth it...and even then he can grumble. But he has said maybe one night at one in the future. I think he was actually a little excited to try out AKL when we had that booked for this past Dec.

That would be fun. Did you get a cabin?

MK is my favorite, and I like to get there as much as possible. So I know at least 1 evening will be spent there, maybe 2.

No only Epcot and AK are actual parks we will be going to, but they suggest DHS for the one day.
When we ate at WCC we didn't get teased too much, but I think our waitress could tell that Claire wasn't up for it. But the tabel next to us did big time...and Claire found it very funny.

Joining in late but I made it. :yay:

:cool1: Welcome!

We saw the ketchup walk last time we were there. It was funny.

I definitely think it depends on the table and who your server is at WCC. DH and my father both can aggravate the snot out of anyone on a good day, so it was nice to see someone else dishing it out to them!:rotfl:

I "volunteered" DH to run the pony race with DS, the look on his face when he found he was running around on a stick pony was priceless.

If you get a chance, take the boats there instead of driving/busses. We were in the MK that day, and went there for lunch via the boats. It was an awesome ride through the lagoons!

I did ride the boat over as well. It was so nice and realxing. Claire loves those boat rides to resorts.
