Jen and Brook's Excellent Adventure

Thanks for joining!

I recognize your name too!

And yes! I am in Fulton County....about 30 minutes west of Toledo.
I swear Farmers are a breed of their own. Skip is lucky I grew up on a farm or I might have to kill him! But seriously, a girl who didn't wouldn't be able to handle the hours and things he does. Many people would walk...but since my Dad was like that (which is SCARY :scared1:) I am used to it and more patient. I SWORE I would NEVER marry a farmer...and then went on to marry one of the worst kind ..a Dairy farmer. At least my Dad had some time off in the winter.

Yeah I said I would never marry a farmer! It drove me crazy when my dad would drive really slow and had to check out OTHER people's fields! In my defense he was not a farmer when I married DH! LOL!

Pretty much DH is farming his own rented land from DH grandma and Dad is helping him and DH is able to use Dad's fancy equipment and DH gets to keep the profit! We want to save enough money in a couple of years to put a decent down payment to build a house (once we sell this house) and then eventually DH to farm full time! He will be way more flexible this way incase Caleb would get sick or something then DH can stay home with him!

An hour to get to Target? I would DIE! Ours finally opened here about 4 year ago, and before that if we went anywhere out of town I had to stop at one!

Love the Star Wars shirt!

Me too!!!!

I'm convinced I cannot live in Queens.

I told my DH, that if it came time to move, my one stipulation is there must be a Target within 15 minutes.

I'm lucky now. There's one a half mile from my house. We often walk!!!
I  Target!!! (It's that Minnesota thing!)

Hi! Joining in...will be back later to catch up! :goodvibes

Welcome!

I have to say it takes 30 minutes to get to Target for me...but I am no longer a fan of the place. the prices have gone up a lot...more than Walmart prices, which is closer .....and they don't have anything in stock anymore...I think they made a list of things I like and took them off the shelves. :rolleyes1 We go every so often now, but I get more unimpressed with it each time.

Quick question...I'll be back later with replies!

Has anyone ever eaten at Trail's End over at Ft. Wilderness for dinner? If so, what did you think of it?

I am finally caught up here too! Love all your plans so far ...... Aug 14 being my favourite day ....... WHY?????? :lmao:

Can't wait to meet you in person!

Ok, all caught up! Plans sound great!! :thumbsup2 I like that you're both leaving a lot of "we'll see what we're up for at the moment" in your planning.

We have eaten there twice...most recently last year on Halloween weekend. I think it's good. Buffet, nothing fancy. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes (very good), mac n' cheese, a fish (salmon, I think), ribs, salad/soup bar, desserts and soft serve ice cream. Also, there's a bar at the restaurant. Again, I like it and it's very much in the theme of Ft. Wilderness. Foodwise, nothing really stands out to me, but it's all your average, good comfort food, and it's kind of a relaxed atmosphere because it's not characters or participation like WCC or Ohana. I'd eat there again. Hope that helps. If I find some pictures, I'll post them here for you. :goodvibes

Okay, just went and checked my pictures and I have nothing post-worthy. But I could see on some of the kids' plates some half-eaten pizza and pasta and some carved meats.

Update/Additions~

I think I have my first day (Sun. 14th) plans finalized...at least for now! ;)

As I said before, I will arrive at 12:09, check into AS Movies, eat lunch, explore if I have time and then meet up with Karin (Dizneeat) and Tom and see there place at OKW. I "think" I will then boat over to DTD and get a sandwich at EOS and bus back to AS Movies. I most likely won't spend a lot of time at DTD, but night stop at WoD for a few minutes. At AS Movies I will hope that my Luggage is there by that time and get my tripod out of my bag and haul it off with me. (if for some miracal my luggage is there before I leave with Karin and Tom, I'll probably lug the dang thing with me then) My next spot will be AKL. I assume the best way to do this is to go to AK and then transfer to an AKL bus. Then I'll try to do a bit of exploring there and take some pictures.
After that I plan to head over to Poly by 8:30-9. Again the best way wil lprobably be by going to MK, then over to Poly. I have NEVER been there either, so I hope it's not to hard to find the beach. But thats where I plan to go. The water light parade starts at 9, and if I get there in time, great, but if not, I'll live. 10 PM is wishes, and I plan to take pictures of it from the beach. I'm not sure how great this view is, but I have heard others that seemed to like it. I'm not sure how visiable the castle is from there either. But I'll still enjoy it, I'm sure.
If anyone has any insight on this, let me know. Now after this I have a couple of options. I could go back to MK and catch the bus back to AS Movies....but I am thinking since Wishes wil lbe just getting done with, it may be a mad rush for buses. Or I could hop a bus from Poly to DTD again and then look around a bit more if I want, then head back to AS Movies.
I will then call it a night, as I plan to be up bright and early the next day.

For Aug. 15, (Monday), Brook and I and anyone else who wants to come, have talked of making a quick run over to MK after our dessert party at Epcot. We won't have a whole lot of time, but we thought it might be fun to try and get into the newly opened Tikiroom.
We would really be pushing it for time there, so not sure if it will work or not.If it doesn't look like we'll make it, I'll probably grab the tripod and take a few pictures around the Yacht Club. After that, I'll probably hit the sack.WE have an early morning the next day.

For Aug 16, (Tuesday) We girls have talked and we are thinking of heading over to Fort Wilderness after we get done with our AEP for the day and try to catch the Chip and Dale Sing-along/campfire. This starts at 8. It lasts about 40 minutes or so and then a movie is after. I won't be staying for the movie. I will get my rear over to MK that night and ejoy what I can.

I thought I would share a few tractor pulling pictures from yesterday. Skip finished 2nd. And he was very happy with how his tractor ran.

I discovered today, that I apparently left my camera on the table at the restaurant last night. I can replace the camera, but the camera card had all the pictures I took this year on it. Disney pictures and Heidi's ballet plus all the pics from this trip and all around the house. A friends wedding. I'm so sick about it. My brother in law is checking with the restaurant. He called over, but he hasn't heard from them back, so he's going on over there to check himself. The restaurant is his client. He sells food to restaurants. I' so sad and angry at myself:headache::sick:

Oh no!!! I know all about losing pictures. How horrid. At least with my lost card, I had enough pictures from y other cameras to fill in the blanks.

you guys are going to have sooo much fun!! BUT I don't envy the heat!! :) brutal!

We stayed at the Poly in November and I can honestly say its by far the BEST place to see the fireworks.. the beach is super easy to find.. if you are coming by monorail. Once you exit the monorail you will be on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House.. enter the house and go towards the back, take the stairs on the right down and then exit the back and walk straight back towards the volcano pool and you will hit the beach. Its not hard to find at all.

The view of the castle is AWESOME! as well as the Grand Floridian and The Contemporary. They pipe the music from wishes onto the beach so sit back and enjoy!

Its awesome! :thumbsup2:lovestruc

I love the tractor pull pictures, "Milk Fever"! Nice!!

I'd love to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach too. I've always wanted to do that. Which day were you planning that for?

My arrival night. Since I don't have a ticket for that day, I thought it would be nice to watch them and try my firework picture skills...or lack of skills!
