Yes, that is exactly what I would do, in hindsight. Provided you are not there on a Holiday or something like that.SO in light of the way the line moves in the morning, if you are not among the first to arrive, should I understand that the sign up line takes an hour to die down? Or longer? We are not picky about being in the earliest show. I also will have a slow walker in tow. I'm thinking we should ride one or 2 rides at rope drop and then sign up. How does that sound? We'd prefer to ride rides in those first 2 hours since it will be spring break.
We were running a bit behind on our HS day last month. We walked up to the turnstiles right as they were opening, so we were behind the early arrivals. By the time we got in and walked to where H&V is, they had dropped the internal ropes. We got in line for JTA signups right at 9:00 and were behind quite a few folks. We were not finished till about 9:20. Luckily we weren't really planning to do something else but if we had, we'd have been too late to get in a short line for a ride. We may have been a bit faster but we didn't have a good handle on where to enter the line. There was a CM standing with a JTA sign up sign and we thought he was standing where you got in line. It took us a few minutes to realize he was not and that we needed to walk down further to get in line. A fair number of people got in line in front of us while we figured it out. Then the CM walked down to where the entrance to the line was.
In hindsight, if I wasn't there at the front of the turnstiles when it opens, I'd walk to RnR and ride it, then go to JTA and then go from there.
