My family will be dining at H&V at 8:20. The park opens at 9am. My kids really want to sign up for the Jedi Experience. Would my husband be allowed to leave the restaurant to head over to sign up? If so, what time do you think he could venture out to sign up without being sent back. Not sure how all this works!! Any tips appreciated.
TIA.

The kids who want to participate have to be there at sign ups, so unfortunately that won't work.

Maybe I will try and get the reservation a little earlier and we will be finishing breakfast and the kids can head out with him. Trying to think through it and either cancel the reservation and show up at gates 1 hr early or keep it and have them leave from restaurant. Not sure what time they let ppl leave H&V and start roaming the park.

I would try to get to H&V early and ask for the check as soon as you are seated. I would then try to be done with breakfast by 8:50 am at the latest. As the PP mentioned, the children who want to participate must be there at sign up as the CM's ask them questions as part of the sign up process.

what about if you or your husband stay at the table, kids and one adult duck out to sign up, a la bathroom break, then come back and finish. It is close and shouldn't take too much time if they leave early. Maybe 8:40 or so. Just a thought.

We just ate fast and let our server know that we wanted to head to sign ups quickly so we went ahead and paid our bill right away. That way we just ate and around 8:50 we went and waited outside. It all would have been perfect had our session not gotten rained out!!:(

I have heard recommendations to get an early session, since it seems to be more likely to rain in the afternoon.

What a bummer about the rain! The Jedi experience is the one thing my son really wants to do, hopefully I am able to pull this off

We went in mid-July and had an 8am reservation at H&V. We were done around 8:30. There are CM's around to keep you from going too far into the park, so you have to hang out near the restaurant if you finish early. It was shortly before 9 that the crowd was let in, so we were allowed to head over to sign up. We were probably 3rd or 4th in line because I refused to run. :) My boys were signed up for the 11am show, which got rained out. It was the only rain out of the day! So, they got a picture with Darth Vader and two Storm Troopers. Fortunately, there were still spaces in the evening shows and we were able to sign them up for a later show that went off without a hitch.

Good luck!! It was pretty disappointing to put in so much effort and planning only to be let down. My weather app said rain on and off all day and the skies looked decent so I went ahead and signed him up for the very first show. It started drizzling and they called it off right as they were about to walk on stage:/ I really hope you guys can pull it off!

We're in the same position! We have an 8:15 reservation at H&V though. So if we are able to leave H&V by 8:50 or 9:00am, we should be good to get the kids spots in the Jedi academy? On one hand, we definitely want to do the Jedi thing, but I don't want to rush out of a really expensive breakfast. At least not too much - maybe just a little rushing. :)

If you can get the earliest H&V ADR, that would be best. Last year we did 8:05 and we were done eating and had seen all 4 characters by 8:30. It worked out well. The biggest advantage to getting in with the first round of tables is the characters start right away, but are only circulating among a fraction of the full restaurant because the rest haven't been filled yet.

If you can't move it up, then one tip is to ask for your bill as soon as you order your drinks and settle, that can save you a good 5 minutes or so.

Just have your husband take the kids to sign up while you stay at the table. They'll want to be outside by 8:45 at the latest so they can pop over without waiting in line. As soon as the park opens, they'll be able to head over to the signups, which is literally a 1 minute walk from H&V. The last time we did H&V with JTA signups, we were in and out of the building before anyone from the entrance even arrived. It's really no different than running to the bathroom, IMO.
