It's really tough to watch - my DD is 11. Jaycee is really an inspiration for everyone overcoming extreme adversity. I hope she continues to get all the love and support she needs. I wish that for her children as well.

The interview with Jaycee's mom talking to Jaycee, is what broke my heart, not Jaycee talking. For all of you moms who can't watch, it's totally understandable.

I watched the entire thing [still am watching] and am going to buy the book.
I am always in awe of how close they could have found her, but didn't.

I'm amazed at the inner grace and strength that Jaycee shows, at her calmness and refusal to give in to anger and bitterness.

For this child to have been stolen at just 11 years old, and to have been able to hold herself together mentally and to have raised, nurtured and educated two children of her own in that environment just astounds me.

She and her mom are beautiful, strong women. I hate what they lost, but am awed by their ability to overcome the past.

I want to slap them all. It makes me wonder: if they were this careless on this ONE case, how many other incidences did they miss and allow other pedophiles to commit more offenses?

I am watching and I can not believe how they did not find her sooner, with so many people in that house, probation officers at that.

Jaycee seems like such a strong young woman who is working through what happened to her. I think her interview tonight will help a lot of young woman who have experienced abuse.

i watched the entire interview, and although it pretty much skimmed the surface of her ordeal, except for the first few days and weeks, it does show how strong jaycee was, and continues to be. it is very important for others who suffered abuse to see that. i applaud her for putting her ordeal down on paper, and for her fierce protection of her daughters' privacy.
my heart broke when her first baby was born and she told diane sawyer "i wasn't alone anymore.". i pray she continues to thrive and live a full and happy life.

I think her therapist probably deserves an award, too, even though she was interviewed very briefly. She has been key in helping Jaycee & her daughters make sense out of it all, and to let go what they can't make sense out and never will. The state probably got them the best therapist they have. This interview is, what, a couple years after the event? So they've had a lot of time to process through a LOT of stuff.

But, if Jaycee hadn't had such a strong relationship with her mom to begin with, we'd be seeing a very different woman right now.

ii pray she continues to thrive and live a full and happy life.

Jayce has to be a highly intelligent woman. She sounds so bright when she speaks...and all with just a fifth grade education. Was a smart child, young lady and now woman.
