January Weather?

Can you tell I am excited?! :teeth:

I am in Chicago now, with 6 inches of snow and ice in front of my house and the windchill of 7 degrees BELOW zero. So, even 40 sounds good to me!

I was in Florida January of 2002, going on a cruise with my sister the next morning. EVERY news station had on HOW COLD IT WAS (30 degrees) and how the homeless people were being put in emergency shelters. Boy, the poor homeless people in Chicago would LOVE that 30 degrees!

Gluman11 & Ibelieveinfairies - Welcome to the Dis!!

Here's a link to the 15 day forecast if anyone needs it: http://wwwa.accuweather.com/adcbin/public/local_index.asp?zipcode=32801&partner=accuweather - and here's another one: http://www.weather.com/weather/local/USFL0372 - I like to check them both and believe the one with the warmer temps!!

I know it is meanspirited, but I'm so happy that our temps here in NJ are finally falling into the teens tonight ! - and I agree that the florida sun definitely makes 60 or 70 degrees feel much warmer than the winter sun in the north! - There's always the hot tub - it doesn't get cold enough in Fla to keep me out of the hot tub!:sunny: :smooth: And that's exactly where I'll be in . . . . .

after watching both weather sites I decided not to pack shorts even though I had checked them 12 hours before leaving . Needless to say we had to find a Wal-mart and purchase shorts. So pack for both types of weather. Cold, warm, and very warm. ;) ;) :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Thanks, bjackmom, for the welcome! We are on Long Island and I had to laugh when I read this...I was just saying the same thing to my husband yesterday! As mean as it is, I am glad the temps are more like winter now...makes that getaway on Sunday feel more like a getaway from the cold!

I was there last year during the cold spell. It was bad mostly because I hadn't packed right. I had all 70/80's clothes and not the 50/40's clothing I usually wear in Michigan. I ended up buying $50 sweatpants.

It was weird seeing no one swimming at All Stars, the CM's in parkas and you definitely got chilled speeding on the outside track of Test Track.

I left a day early because WDW at 40 degree is a sad thing.

I'm going in 14 days and this time will pack for all kind of weather. It should make it a better time.

Madi100-yes the weather is warmer in Feb than in Jan. One year we went mid Jan, it was shorts and sweatshirts, maybe long pants at night. The next year we went mid Feb, it was HOT and HUMID and we nearly died! lol, only kidding about the nearly died part, but it was very warm. Last year we went 1st week of Dec. and despite torrential rain we had a great time and wore shorts, tees and zip up sweaters. Only one night in the downpour it got real cold. This year it's January again. Planning on variety of fall/early spring pluss some shorts. We will have a washer/dryer so will pack 1/2 trip and wash one night. Only problem I'm having is finding some warm weather garb for DS who has outgrown his summer stuff. What was I thinking, I usually buy clearance stuff one size up. Duh! Oh well, my friend (God bless her) has a big stash, so off to her barn...
Yipee!
