Just emailed my daughters teachers about getting the school work she will be missing while we are sailing. Luckily it is only 3 days. I stressed that this is a surprise. Hopefully, no one will spoil it.
I personalized my FE's just waiting for the supplies to arrive to finish them.
My sister in laws FE gift is awesome, I am sure everyone will love it!
Only 16 more days til we surprise the kids! I can not wait.
I am hoping everyone can put their FE out as soon as they get into their cabin. Our gift needs to be delivered the 1st night, thanks!

I just wrote my letter to the school and the kids teachers as well, telling them the KIDS will be out the first week of January.
I will give it to them Monday, and I also added a big SHHHHHH... SO THAT THEY DO NOT SPOIL THE SURPRISE.

My FE Gifts arrived yesterday, so now I get to make your bags, I am really happy with the products I purchased. I will be handing out mine early in the cruise as well, so I hope to find lots of FE'S up right away.

SOOO excited to be going on our first ever Disney Cruise this Jan. 3-8, and to have found a group that will be aboard the same one! Have no idea how this whole DISboard thing really works, also do not know an awful lot about what to expect once aboard (other than what I've learned from the official disney cruise site and the DVD). Will be traveling with DH 29, DS 6, DS, 4 as well as DH's parents, brother & wife. What are some things I need to know? Any inside info is truly appreciated. Just a couple of questions that I am wondering at the moment: will there be a show onboard every night or just a couple of nights? Do we knows exactly which shows we will see? And, is there an additional fee for the Scuttle cove (?) area on Castaway Cay? Thanks in advance for any responses!

Welcome to the disboards and this cruise. Your in luck, there is no extra charge for Scuttle's Cove. A great place to start is the DCL FAQ Sticky. Here you will find a wealth of knowledge including a guide to all the abbreviations used on the boards regarding the Ships and cruises.

After that "light reading" and you still have more questions fire away.

Hi FloridaDad - Welcome to our thread!

Unfortunately, the FE list is closed. It was closed Dec 1st. If you read thru the 40+ pages of our thread, you will see that we have many people traveling from the UK and other far away places... In fact, it was originally suggested that we close the list in Nov before the holidays. There are many people making their gifts, and need time to prepare them, as well as the fact that we are 2 weeks to Christmas!

Also, I am not in charge, so others can feel free to chime in

I think you will still enjoy the cruise regardless and certainly come on over to the meet!

On our 1st cruise we did not do FE's. We did do the FE's on our 2nd cruise - it was something different for the kids.
We did not do any magnets on our doors our 1st 2 cruises but we will this time, you kind of learn as you go.
You may miss something this time but their is always next time! Glad to hear you are sailing with our group.

What does everyone think about closing the FE list before Christmas? Maybe the 15th or 20th of December? Just an idea from one person

Oh man!!! I would have made it if the cut off date had been set for the 15th or 20th!! Understnd having the cut off date earlier, since it is the Holiday season and all, but I hate it that my boys will miss out! There's no chance we could slip in and be added at the last minute? I'm not usually one to beg, but just thought the whole experience seems especially fun for the little guys. This is our first ever cruise. We actually booked our cruise at the end of Sept/first of Oct, but I am only just now finding the disboards. My DH (FloridaDad) and I have been trying to catch up on all we have missed...there is a lot to read here! Great info for us newbies.

Thank you for all the valuable info!! Loved all of the pics and tips from your TR. Almost feeling a little overwhelmed after checking out the Navigators you posted. Want this to be both fun and relaxing, but there will be so much to see and do...I'm almost afraid it will become stressful trying to run from one place to another. How do you decide which activiites to do? When do you decide? I know we can pre-register online for the major things, but for everything else (characters, things like "crab racing", family game shows, etc)...how and when? There is just so much and I don't want the kids to miss out on anything!!

I feel I have to chime in about the FE. I feel bad that there are families who are interested in joining after the date but I think we have to respect the cut off. We have let in people after the cut off already and it is already throwing me off. It is not just a matter on 1 or 2 families it is 8 or 10 people. Plus what do we say to the next group who wants to join next week.

We had suggested splitting into 2 groups, maybe there is something we could do to include everyone?

I feel like a total scrouge but I am pregnant, exhausted and just getting my morning sickness under control. Plus I don't have all my Christmas shopping done yet. I did have my FE pretty much complete and don't want to keep revisiting them.

I feel really bad saying this. Really I am normaly much more go with the flow than this. Tis the Season. If others disagree with me please chime in. I am but one voice and will go with the group decision.

Perhaps there are a couple people who did not make the cut this time, who could communicate amongst themselves and create a smaller group who could do it for each other.

Yep - ours are done and packed already!!! The only ones that aren't are for the family that has 3 kids that haven't told us the sex of their children, or their stateroom #. Frankly, if they don't send that info soon (like in the next few days), I won't have anything for them........And, they joined on Dec 1st, the cut off date. It's already going to be that there will be some people that will have different gifts, which isn't a big deal, but not what I prefer!

I agree... we didn't take it as being mean. Now that we understand how much work goes into it, we completely understand. It just gives us something to look forward to on the next cruise... lol
