January 3, 2011 - 5 night Bahamas Sailing

Need some info from FE participants

Are any of you traveling in the same cabin with different households? My gift is a family gift- but want to give one to each household -even if in the same cabin as it cannot be split.

Example: my assistants are coming and staying in a cabin together- they do not know each other very well (yet) so asking them to share a cabin gift would be weird and then they would have to split it up, so I will be giving them each the gift, just as I am making them separate magnets.

Also they will be giving gifts separtely for the FE - not together.

So if you have this kind of situation please email me at akblair@charter.net with your info! thanks so much.

DW had an idea... We are going to be staying at CI&S the night before the cruise and we were wondering if anyone from the DIS wants to meet up for dinner that night as something to do? Not sure which restaurants are good in PC but any ideas would be welcome.

Hi All

We will shortly be travelling to US and wont have internet access out there. Soo.... what is the plan for the meet? :santa:

Thanks!

After the safety drill on Deck 10 on the side that you can see the Port from - that will be about 4:30pm. The Sail Away Party begins at 5pm, and you can see it from Deck 10!

We'll be driving from our house in Tampa on the AM the cruise leaves, so we won't be able to make it for dinner the night before! Have fun, though!

Sweet, we are going to try and be there just so we can place faces with the names .... :)

We are staying at the Comfort Inn & Suites but we will not be arriving until 10pm so we will not be able to meet for dinner.
Has anyone done the free parking there? We were thinking of having my husband drive the kids & I over to the port with our luggage and then park the car. My husband would take the shuttle by himself back to the port. Is this a good idea or a hassle? I would love to here if anyone has done this?
Thanks!

I have not used their park & shuttle service, but I have stayed at the CI&S before a cruise - it is an easy drive to the port (we dropped off our rental car at Hertz - in front of the hotel - and used their shuttle to the ship). You might want to verify shuttle times. It would be easier to get one seat for DH on the shuttle than several of you with your bags.

We're staying at Residence Inn and that is our exact plan as well. No need to pay for 6 people on the shuttle. See you on the 3rd!

I just realized I booked the Country Inn & Suites not the Comfort Inn & Suites. I used the CARLSONF code for the $70 rate. Parking for the length of the cruise is $20 extra. I read that the lot is down the street and unsecured - is this true? I would rather park at the port knowing my car will be fine then chance it at the hotel.
I also read that the ports daily rate is going to $20 - but I have not been able to verify this any where.
Does anyone know?
It is my kids last day of school I have 15 minutes and they are off until January 10th...let the fun begin!

My kids will be home in a few minutes and then they are off until the 10th as well.

We will be leaving to see relatives for christmas vacation, and then we will be heading to Florida from there.
So this may be the last time I will get to check in.
So my FE GIFTS will be as the list stands right now. So excited!
So I hope you all have a fantastic holiday and see you all very soon!

Let the MAGIC begin.

I just called the port and left a message with a parking person. The operator was not aware of a planned price incease for 2011. If I hear back I will let you know.

Just received a call back. Parking is not changing and will remain $15.

I can't believe the sailing is only 16 days away! We are all sooooo excited. We plan to be to the terminal when they open on Monday morning. See you there!

Last Sunday when my husband spent two hours digging himself and a neighbor out of a snowbank, I kept thinking "In three weeks, we'll be in Florida!" On Monday, when we were frantically making snow day arrangements (and digging the car out again), I kept thinking "In three weeks, we'll be on our cruise!" On Tuesday, when we woke up to discover the power had gone out, I kept thinking "In three weeks, we'll be at Castaway Cay!" On Wednesday, when it started to snow AGAIN, I started wondering if I could change our tickets to leave early. No such luck, but only two weeks now!!

We are planning to do the same! It finally hit me this past week when I told my boss I would be gone.

Oh yeah, then I realized Christmas is this week. How time flies.
