Looks really great - well done!

I just realized that one week today I will be running around like a crazy woman trying to get everything ready to head to Buffalo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do we have a list of the kids who are going and their ages? If not, do we have all the information so a list can easily be put together? I could start at the beginning of the thread and try to put one together myself but before I do that, I wanted to see if anyone already had a list. Thanks :)

Ugh...thanks for pointing that out :) One week from today I will still be at work (I have to work that day) but I hope to be almost completely packed by Monday, Tuesday at the latest. That way if I forgot something I have time to think of it.

There is an FE list that has the kids ages for the FE exchange. And adventure_woman put together a Word document of everyone who sent pictures to her along with names - I used that list to put names on most of my FE gifts for the kids with just a few exceptions!

is everyone doin the fe not sure some may not so that list may not have all of the kids on it, never did get a picture posted sorry just forgot to get one picked out!:confused3

If you try to book the cruise, there is 1 suite left - for the LOW 2 adult price of $7869!! :lmao:

So, I would say it is sold out minus 1 family!! :rotfl:

We got 9 inches of snow last night and have 3-6 more on the way today :scared1: I want sunshine!!!!!

Wow you have a lot more snow than we do here in Michigan (at least our part of MI). We are just in bitterly cold temps now. :(

The sunshine can't get here quick enough!

Not sure if I ever put my kids names down so here goes
DD 8 is Natalie
DS 12 is Dylan
DS 15 is Aidan

Hi Jenni

So glad you will be able to join us. While you are on the cruise, your DH won't have to worry about all of the late night hours he has to put in to adjust to his new assignment, new location, and get ready to deploy. He can just focus on his job and know you are having fun so he won't feel guilty. Then when you are able to join him in Hawaii, he will be more settled in and you all will have a little more quality time together!!!

As someone who was active duty Army myself for 12 years and has been an Army wife for 15 (and dated 3 before that) trust me when I say that this really will give him a lot of time to just worry about work and not feel guilty about you sitting at home in a new place surrounded by boxes while he isn't there to help!! While it stinks being apart, it will be good for you to have a nice, pampering vacation so you are more relaxed to deal with the upcoming stress and for him to have this focus time to get really settled into his new job so he isn't so stressed about the deployment!!!

WE are looking forward to meeting you!! My SIL was glad she isn't the only one not part of a couple in our group!

Dena

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts :goodvibes Deployments are hard, but at least have a better idea of what to expect this time around. Just wasn't expecting it so soon. Thank goodness for my mom & step dad though. They're letting me stay with them during this deployment :lovestruc

I was in Fairbanks, Alaska for his last deployment (2008-2009) by myself & let me tell you I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy! I stayed in AK because I had a job there that I loved, but the stress of being so far from family & my DH & the 8 months of winter take a toll.

And Denas, thank you for putting in perspective the fact that me being away right now is actually more helpful than not right now for my hubby. I was having a lot of guilt about not being with him & going on this cruise. Of course my hubby also told me not to worry about not being there right now since he's so busy, (and you're right about him feeling guilty about me being in a new place surrounded by boxes because that's what it was like when we first got to AK) but it's nice to hear from another military spouse who understands the ups and downs of being a military family. And please tell your SIL I am also happy to find out that there's someone else there who will be going that is not part of a couple :)

Can't wait to meet everyone & get away from all of this snow and cold here in Syracuse!

Errr....now I am rethinking what we want to do in St. Martin! We are signed up for the under 2 flags tour (so we can see the island), then I was thinking we would just go to great bay beach for a couple of hrs after that. BUT, I was just reading on cruise critic that that beach has all kinds of run-off sewer. (really gross when you have a 4 yr old and baby playing in the water!). We really want to go to a beach, but I'm afraid of taking a taxi to a place farther away...what if we got caught in traffic and missed the ship!?!?!

Does this tour take you to this beach? Or is it something your doing on your own?
