January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

Errr....now I am rethinking what we want to do in St. Martin! We are signed up for the under 2 flags tour (so we can see the island), then I was thinking we would just go to great bay beach for a couple of hrs after that. BUT, I was just reading on cruise critic that that beach has all kinds of run-off sewer. (really gross when you have a 4 yr old and baby playing in the water!). We really want to go to a beach, but I'm afraid of taking a taxi to a place farther away...what if we got caught in traffic and missed the ship!?!?!

Ewwww....is this beach within walking distance. I definitely am thinking I want to steer clear of this beach also with my 3 and 5 year olds.

We are doing the same tour in the am. We were hoping to do more shopping & a beach near the port after the tour. We'll have to see...

Great Bay is right by the port. Little Bay Beach seems to be a little better less polluted I think - you have to take a taxi there for a couple of dollars a person...it is just to the west of Great Bay...I'm thinking that's what we'll do. There are 2 resorts on Little Bay beach - Divi Resort and Belair Resort.

It has a walk way all along it or you can walk into the town and shop. Maybe you are thinking of were the marina is The water taxi is $6 I think and you can go back and forth all day long.

This beach was not dirty or smelly so maybe we are talking about another beach.

They also rent out chair along this beach too.

So I found out I need to travel to Cleveland next week for work. I have to be at meetings Friday morning so I will be flying back the day before the cruise! The earliest flight I found that I would feel safe taking was 2pm... connecting in Charlotte and getting to Tampa around 6pm. There is still some wiggle room there if something gets delayed... do y'all think I should be worried? I am so used to not having to deal with travel delays that this is freaking me out a bit

Cleveland gets a lot of snow, but they know how to handle it. I think you will be just fine, especially since you guys are planning to drive the next morning. Just make sure you have everything ready to go so that if your flight is delayed and you get home late, you don't have to run around doing last-minute-packing I'm flying home from Baltimore the day before we leave too and am trying to be optimistic and have said a few prayers too!

Cleveland gets a lot of snow, but they know how to handle it. I think you will be just fine, especially since you guys are planning to drive the next morning. Just make sure you have everything ready to go so that if your flight is delayed and you get home late, you don't have to run around doing last-minute-packing I'm flying home from Baltimore the day before we leave too and am trying to be optimistic and have said a few prayers too!

You've answered one part of what I've been curious about! I am always curious about screen names. When I saw a while ago, and on the FE, that you had three children, you peaked my curious nature! The obvious answer in my house would be: only two are brats!

I am sure you will be fine with your afternoon flight. They are so used to dealing with weather and snow removal. We are flying out of Buffalo later that day so really hoping the weather is fine as well.

We fly out at 5:00 on the 26th.

It is snow like mad right now. Just got back from looking at the high school. My son goes next year. And they want them to have their course picked by the end of the month. Can I say Stressful! We are not even sure if he want to do the public or Catholic one. He is in Catholic right now.

Tiffany hope all goes will with your travels. We flying out early enough if there are delays but we can't be delayed on the way back.

So far the weather is behaving, keep crossing fingers. We are flying out of Detroit Metro Friday morning. Got the earliest non-stop flight we could because of the possible iffy weather.
