January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

I need to start thinking about Palo reservations and stuff like that..........does anyone know which nights will be formal night, semi formal and pirate night?

Anyone already chosen the dining rotation that they want?

We have requested the APLAPLA rotation and main dining. We have Palo booked for Wednesday at 8pm, can't wait!!! I had the same nights marked for formal/pirate/semi-formal as NAB.

I have been told that this is the schedule -is this what everyone else is hearing........if this is true then I might try and get Palos on the First Night.

Saturday - Rotation Menu - Welcome Aboard Show

Sunday - Golden Mickeys Menu [Formal Night] - New Villians show

Monday - Rotation Menu - Twice Charmed

Tuesday - Pirate Menu - Movie night in the WD Theater, St Maartin Day

Wednesday - Rotation Menu - Variety Show with entertainer, St Thomas Day

Thursday - Captain's Gala Menu [Semiformal Night] - Disney Dreams

Friday - Till We Meet Again Menu - Farewell Show, CC Day

I was thinking about doing PLAPLAP so that I get Lumieres on Formal Night and Parrot Cay for Pirate Night. But I hate the idea of having Parrot Cay three times.....much prefer the other restaurants

I just subscribed to the October 23rd Eastern Cruise to I can hear what they say when they come back in a week.

cant wait to hear their feedback

Hi Everyone

Since it seems like there is at least some interest in a FE Exchange for our upcoming cruise, I would be willing to take on the task of being the FE organizer.

If you and your party wish to participate in the exchange, please PM me with the following:
  • your DIS Board name
  • Cabin Number (if yours hasn't been assigned yet, let me know and drop me a line when you get the cabin number)
  • Size of your Party
  • Gender/ages of party members so age/gender appropriate gifts can be made/purchased

Here are some great tips about what you need to know about FE Gift Exchanges as well for those first-timers on the cruise:

Keep an eye on this post, and I'll PM the person with the first post on the thread to see if they would put a link to this thread in the first post so it could be found easily. I was thinking of closing off entries to the FE List on December 15, 2010. After the list is finalized, I would make an Excel spreadsheet with the list available to the participants.

I am in a GTY Cabin- does anyone know if I will know my cabin my Dec 15th??

I thought I would start up a getting to know you thread so here it goes:

1. Where are you from? - Fort St. John, BC

2. First time cruising - No, but have seen a few hot beaches in my time!

3. What you like to do when you are not planning a cruise, on a cruise, or dreaming about a cruise: Dragon boating, and I am learning to run a 10km right now. Hard, but fun!

4. Kids - Two, Justine will be 7 on the cruise, and Vera will be 4, going on 5.

Feel free to add to the list!!

Going back through old posting and I foudn this one.

1. Where are you from? - Markham Ontario (just north of Toronto)

2. First time cruising - This is our 2nd cruise. We did the Western Cruise in October 2006 and had a great time.

3. What you like to do when you are not planning a cruise, on a cruise, or dreaming about a cruise: I work in Fraud Management at one of the Canadian Banks. Very interesting work but I spend my day learning how BAD people steal money from GOOD people. My Better Half works at one of our large TeleCom companies.

4. Kids - Spencer is 11 years old and is an active kid. Plays competitive volleyball and then also plays soccer and hockey for fun. Also plays Guitar and loves drama. Avery is 8 years old and is just as active. She plays competitive soccer and does competitive dance.

Both are completely NUTS over Disney......

Just booked our flight with southwest out of Buffalo, prices were pretty good . We save so much by flying from Buffalo instead of Toronto. Half the price at least! The countdown begins!:cool1:

When are you flying down? We are flying out of Buffalo as well.....we are either flying down on the 5pm Direct on Wednesday night or Tuesday night. We are going to Harry Potter for 1 day and visiting my parents for 1 or 2 days.

Can I join in....we just booked our cruise today.

Had one set for the first week in Dec but change to this date since Canadian's got a great discount for this time.

There well be me , my husband , son 13 years, and daughter 10

We have cruised on the Magic few times before. Last time being 2008

Hey there - where abouts in Ontario?

We are in Markham

Not sure what excursions we will do but I know in St Maarten we will just take the boat taxi to the town. And wander the shops there. They have a beach you can go to right along the town as soon as you get off the taxi too that is nice. We honeymooned on this island. So one of the other cruises we took we went back to the resort we stayed at but it was hit by a hurricane and they never rebuild. It was called Mullet Bay. :sad2:

St. Thomas for us will be an early day since we are Canadian. We have to go though customs because we are going back into the U.S. So they get us up early and the whole family has to be there too , the kids usually go in the pj's because it is something like 6:00am .

Really - all Canadians have to check in at 6am at St Thomas - YUCK!!!

1. Where are you from? - Ankeny, Iowa (suburb of Des Moines)

2. First time cruising - Yes!

3. What you like to do when you are not planning a cruise, on a cruise, or dreaming about a cruise: Reading--lots of true crime, historical stuff (ie: Tudor's, etc.) Really almost anything. ;) Shopping, dreaming up home projects.

4. Kids - Meredith is 4 in November. She's independent, very much a tomboy, is going to be a pirate for Halloween. Dexter is 8 months old. He's doing the army-man crawl and has 2 bottom teeth and the top 2 seem to be mostly out now. He's my big boy--He was 10 lbs. at birth (2 weeks early!). He and Meredith can wear the same size pullup in case of emergency. (Not that I'd know about that...:rotfl2::lmao::eek::rolleyes1)

Hi boundfordisney!!!! I'm hereeee!!! Ok so now I have to get caught up and find out about the fishy thingy!!!! My dh and I will be joining all you guys on this cruise. This is our first disney cruise so I am soooooo excited. I just met boundfordisney and we dont live far from each other and she turned me onto this. I am sure I will meet lots of great people here!!!!! I have already met one :flower3: We will be doing this trip solo, we have 6 kids but they will be home looking after each other as we bask in the sun. Hoping to come back with the kids in 2012.

Your kids are letting you go on a DIsney Cruise without taking any of them? My kids woudl kill me if I tried that one!

sorry for all the posts - just got caught up ......Had a boring conference call with the Auditors so I thought I would do some reading (LOL).

How will I sleep for another 100 nights!

My 13 year old son will be jealous, he wants us to go a day or two early to see the Harry Potter thing at Universal.

We are east of Toronto in Bowmanville. Flying out of Buffalo too. This will be our 5th cruise Disney Cruise , but my 6th one if you count the one without the kids on another cruiseline.

Hubby works for OPG and I get to stay home. :goodvibes

OK - I missed this part too, but will add my info now!

1. Northern Virginia - Outside DC is where we currently live and plan on staying. We are a military family so this is always a loaded question! I am originally from Spokane, Washington and hubby is from outside Detroit. All of our kids were born in different states (Texas, Kansas and Virginia)

2. No! Second DCL cruise and second with kids. Hubby and I have done Western Caribbean trips a bunch and a Mediteranean cruise.

3. Hubby is in the Army. We are celebrating him hitting 20 years in March!! Originally this was going to be his "retirement cruise" but the economy sucks so he probably won't be retiring this year. I was in the ARmy 12 years and now work as a defense contractor. My main hobby these days seems to be planning this vacation!!!

4. Kids - Luke is 8. He plays electric guitar (he is in a band:cool1:). He played Hockey until he broke his arm the SECOND time last spring and had to have his SECOND surgery. When hubby broke his pelvis playing over 40 hockey two months later, I put my foot down and put away their hockey gear. Annemarie is 4. She dances and does whatever else she can to keep up with her brother! Jake will be 10 months when we sail.

We are also sailing with my in-laws in a connecting cabin. This is an early 50 year anniversary for them (48 years actually). And a 15 year anniversary celebration for hubby and I!!!

I am in a GTY Cabin- does anyone know if I will know my cabin my Dec 15th??

Hi AverysMommy,

You don't need to know your cabin by Dec 15th - just decide if you want to participate or not. We just need to get a count for everyone so they can plan accordingly. Just list the # of cabins you will be in that are participating (ie if you have 2 cabins booked and want each cabin to participate separately - just say so!) You can put "GTY" as your cabin number and then update us when you find out. It will probably be closer to 30 days out. We don't know our cabin # yet either!

We talked to people who went to HP in August and tehy said it was AMAZING....we cant wait. I am probably looking forward to that more than the cruise (SHHH.....Dont tell Mickey).

What day are you flying out of Buffalo. We are taking the 5pm direct flight. I love we can fly direct for teh same price as a connector

Ok we are in...I sent a note to the person organizing the FE

I thought we would not know our cabin until we got on the ship - good to know that we will know before then. Thanks

Glad you are participating! I am lookind forward to the FE - starting some this week!!!:yay:

Something we did on the DIS Board for my last cruise was to track the people who was lucky enough to do "special" posts:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Meaning - who got to post the special "?00" posts.

Post #100 was - myolite:dance3:
Post #200 was - cblack :cheer2:

Who will get #300???

Yeah, I thought about that one too, it came down to eating in Parrot Cay so many times and when we would end up in the character breakfast. With the PLAPLAP rotation, I don't think you do the character breakfast until late in the cruise.

On a separate note....Jen sent me a pic of our FE - can't wait till it is shipped!!!!
