January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

POLL = Pirate Night:

1. How many people are dressing up their kids for Pirate Night? Meaning - dressing them into Pirate Costumes?

2. How many adults are dressing up as Pirates for Pirate Night?

About 75% of the kids are dressing up (as either a pirate or a princess) and about 25% of the adults are dressing up (either in full costume or just hats/eye patches). Should be a great night for pictures

POLL - St Maarten activities:

1. Who has booked a DCL or non-DCL Excursion? If yes - which one?

2. Who is just hanging out a beaches? If so - which one is the plan or is it still TBD?
Most people seem to be just hanging out and going to beaches or shopping. Butterfly Farm also seems to be a popular choice for trips. One group is going on the Under 2 Flags tour. One group is going to Ce Gallion Beach.

POLL - St Thomas Activities

1. Who has booked a DCL or non-DCL Excursion? If yes - which one?

2. Who is just hanging out a beaches? If so - which one is the plan or is it still TBD?
More structure on this Stop than at St Maarten. About 50% of the people are on Excursions (either through Disney or Private). There are still quite a few just hanging out or visiting the beaches.

Poll - Castaway Cay

1. Who has booked an excursion on CC? If yes - which one?

2. Who has booked or is thinking of booking a Cabana?
Only 1 group so far has responded that they have booked a cabana. I think many people are concerned about weather so want to wait and see. One group had booked the Sting Ray and another group booked the Family Adventure. Most just cant wait to enjoy the Beach.

We are doing the Under 2 Flags tour in the am & hope to do more shopping & beach in the afternoon.

We have no clue about St. Thomas yet nor Castaway Cay. Thinking about renting bikes, snorkel equipment or floats on CC but want to wait to see what the weather will be like. Would LOVE to have a cabana but can't justify the money.

Just starting to work on packing. I have everything washed :laundy: and folded in piles so I can put them in the suitcases. My plan is to have all of that stuff packed before I leave for Boston tomorrow.

My DD's costume is a "punk pirate" not sure I'm actually going to convince her to wear it, but it is cute!

Averys is similar - its a Rock and Roll Pirate - she loves it so i know she will wear it.

We shoudl have got Spencer's in October but I didnt think of it. So I had to piece his together. Its the vest from an old pirate costume, a tshirt from his school play last year, and the pants from an old Gangster costume - but I have cut the bottom of the pants, Add an eye patch and a cover for his head and he will good to go.

I spent so much on their formal clothes that I am trying to save on stuff like this.

Wow - what a response to all the POLLs - that was quick! Let me try and summarize the results and post them!

Thanks for putting that mini survery all together. :flower3: Lots of fun to hear all the different things that people are planning. Lets hope all the :sick:kids get feeling better real soon and that everyone is healthy for the cruise.

You are very welcome - its always great to see if other people are doing similar things as you are!

Good evening everyone! I love coming here as it gets me even more excited. I spent some time this afternoon printing out all of reservation stuff for airlines, strollers, hotels, cars, and this week will be spent getting the suitcases packed. It has been a crazy weekend for snow and cold here so this trip can't come soon enough.

We are doing Pkg #1 - there are about 19 of us (including kids) doing this. If you would like to join us, you can. Just let me know asap and I will let Henry know!

Hi Stephanie! I forget have you done this before or have spoken to someone that has? My dh doesnt want to do something that is not operated by Disney, so thought I would ask how you know about this again????

Thanks!

I had read reviews about it on cruise critic, and the kids are also free under 5. It will just be the group of us in the tour. It isn't all day...so I'm not worried about not getting back to ship in time.

Ok Cruise Critic...thanks alot!!! What time is the tour at? Is it when we get off the ship?

So.....

I thought I was very organized putting together summer things last fall for the kids to have for the cruise.....And still have to do tons of shopping.

My 8-year-old has jumped from a 7 to a 10 since September, so none of his stuff fits. I did get a bunch of things for my daughter which will fit, but, I don't know what I was thinking and it is lots of tank tops and she gets very cold in AC, so now I am looking for regular t-shirts and cardigans for all of her stuff. And I was just sure that my 10-month-old would be wearing 9-12 month size by now. Unfortunately, he has had a ton of feeding issues and weight gain issues since birth so he is just barely above the 10th percentile for weight (although in the 80th for height) and even his 6-9 month size pants are too big on his waist. So here I am buying new clothes for everyone again. Oh why won't there little bodies cooperate with my plans:lmao:

Of course, we ALSO had to buy a new uniform jacket for DH. He gained a lot of pregnancy weight the last time and his other one was a little snug...:rotfl:
In his defense, his old one was from when he was in his early 30s and he is 44 now so his body has "matured". I suppose most people can't fit into clothes they word 15+ years ago!!!

So I am still trying to find a suit that fits DS (8) and had to buy new dressy clothes for DS (10months) I hae gone to the mall several times over the past 2 weeks and it is tough. Easter dressy clothes and shorts/t-shirts aren't quite out yet and Christmas dressy clothes are all gone.. AAAAAAUUUUGGGGG

Good Morning,
Okay, I just found this and I am so pleased! Not that I thought we were going to be the only ones on the ship. We are travelling with our daughter, son-in-law, his Mom and 2 granddaughters 2 and 6 1/2. The 6 1/2 yr old is extremely shy and we are hoping she will be able to find a friend to enjoy everything with.
