JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

the Maryland cruisers would like to be getting their tags and things. But I am glad for those who have received theirs already. :cheer2:

Wonder how DCL decides to distribute them? By country/zip code or deck or earliest booked? Or?? pixiedust: pixiedust:

:hourglass - our favorite smiley is the hourglass these days......

Well, it surely is not by the date you booked, because I made the res for Holly and I over a year ago!

Not to sound like a rube, but what docs are we talking about?

I got the booklet many months ago (shore excursions, etc). Is this something else?

Is it related to cruise check-in? I ask because I did a lot of that online a month or so ago.

I printed off the cruise contract but haven't signed it/mailed it in. Is that part of the docs people are getting?

You should still receive mailed documents (similar to an airline ticket booklet before E-tickets came out) approximately 2 weeks before sailing even when you complete online check-in, or so DCL told me. All of my previous DCL cruises were before they started offering online check-in, so I can only go by what the reps say and it all depends on with whom you speak I guess. It is my understanding that when you do online check-in, your cruise document booklet will maybe be minus those forms but is still your official doc to show (along with your photo ID) to the guys who check you off the list when you arrive at the port to drop off your luggage (for those of us driving to port). Anyone know if this is still the case?

Of those here who have already received mailed documents, had you completed online check-in?

We haven't received our docs yet, but I checked online and found out we are in stateroom 6084. BTW, the Disney Cruise website seems awfully slow tonight. Must be people like us checking it.

No cruise docs here but we went through a TA so I expect by Friday:banana:

I was amazed to see all the posts! I can't believe it's almost here!!!!!!

Yes, I did complete the online check in and got our docs today. You should get your luggage tags, your transportation booklet and your bahama immigration form - at least that was what was in our docs. I can't believe its almost here!!!!

And I wonder if I'll get docs as they didn't have my street address. My bet is that they send it all to Shari. Which is okay as I'll be going to her house the night before anyway.

I just did my online check-in a few days ago as I had to wait for my replacement passport to arrive. Since we have to do Bahamian forms - anyway we can get our passports stamped? (can you tell I would really like A stamp in my passport to say I'V been SOMEWHERE? :) )

17 Days now - it's getting closer! :cheer2:

I have never had my passport stamped for the Bahamas, but I heard there was that option (if you ask) for Nassau, which only the 3 and 4-day Disney cruises visit. I have not heard of a way to get a passport stamp at Castaway Cay. Anyone else know? My passport is a bit full anyway. ;)

Yes - I am pretty sure they will send your docs with mine (maybe a good thing as one less thing for you to remember to bring - LOL). However, when I printed out all the forms it did show a street address for you in addition to a P.O. Box. I used Google Earth to look where it was, and it's in condos with big fields behind, so I guess that is your address and not where the P.O. box is located. So keep an eye out just in case. :)

When I filled in the online check-in forms, I added my street address. (and yes, there are fields/orange groves right behind me!)

How nice to have a full passport!

It just is so exciting to have the cruise so close! I am hoping to go shopping tomorrow to find something for formal night. I've started pulling things out of my closet - all the stuff I never wear cause I just don't dress up much. I want to get the major organization done now while we're still a few weeks out. I really dislike having to run around last minute! Any last minute running around I only want to be FUN stuff - like getting a pedicure or something!:cutie:

Also, are we going to try and plan a quick get-together at the sail-away party or anything?

YES! On our Pal Mickey Gathering at Sea website there is a link for PLANNED MEETS. We have a "mini-meet" at 3 pm in the Pomenade Lounge. I figured on only about 15 minutes for that, but we just need to head back to our rooms no later than 3:30 to get ready for the 4 pm safety drill.

By next week I will post a sailaway meet and some other meets, including one in the terminal before boarding. Anyone here can simply show up for any of these and look for us with Pal Mickey (whether or not they themselves have one). No one has to promise to be there because I know plans can change, especially for those with kids.

Anyone here with ideas for meets and/or group photos, please post! :cool1:

Maybe we could try to meet sometime during pirate night? How many of the Pals will have the new pirate costume or something else piratey? pirate:

I am planning to get my Pal the pirate costume. pirate:

Kim

I may still be on the way to the terminal at 3 PM. Drat!!! When that second plane lands I'll be sprinting to the DCL bus!!

I did want to meet all of group from the club before the life boat drill. So look for me. My PM will be dressed with the same t-shirt that Marsha's PM will be wearing.

:earsboy: :earsboy:

Is anyone making door signs for themselves? Can you run those magnetic sheets through a printer?

With the windchill tonight and for the next couple days it will be -40 here, that is our going away present, I guess, at least it reminds us of one of the reasons we are seeking warmer breezes!!

Cruising canuck - We are not minus 40 here in Florida, but we got to 40f here where I live (an hour from the port) overnight. Cold for central FL. Today would have been nice at around 60f, but we had a 20 mph wind most of the day so quite a wind chill.

Kim - Holly and I both have the pirate outfits for our Pals. Can't speak for the others but I'm sure many of them do, or at least some sort of pirate costume for him. A Pirate Party meet sounds great to me! We just need to set a time and location so I can post it on our website as well. pirate:

Glenna - Don't worry about meeting everyone before the safety drill if you end up arriving a bit late. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet everyone, and as long as you carry your Pal they will know you are in our "group." :dance3:

Any other meet ideas? :grouphug:

Magnetic printer sheets work great. :thumbsup2 My 15 year old is our official door sign designer!

Well the cruise docs showed up today. I guess we have to start packing this weekend. We also need to get out to the costume store for something pirate-like.

I bought some magnetic paper at Walmart and ran them through my ink jet - they turned out great! I made 2 signs and some mickey ear magnets to put on our door with some ribbon.

I also picked up some underwater cameras and have sunscreen on my list to buy next trip to the store. I put DH and the kids on notice that we are starting to pack this weekend :cool1:

Cruising Canuck - saw your weather in our paper - it's heading our way - good thing since I'm organizing a Winter Carnival day for our community and this week we finally got snow!! It will be quite a shock to our systems that we'll be in the sun a week later but I think my heart can take it!!

I had totally forgotten about my door sign - one more thing to put on my To Do List!!

Cheers everyone...
