JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

Thanks for the link to the aquarium coupon.

We had a green Christmas here in Ottawa - the first time for us. In fact it was 10 degrees Celsius here today - really bizarre.

Our first cruise too and we are travelling with our DD6 and our DD17 months - she's into everything too. She was very quiet today while we were putting away the Christmas decorations - when I looked around the corner, she had climbed onto the computer chair and was tapping away at the keyboard. The newest member to the DIS boards!!!

Hope everyone is doing great:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Welcome Aurora76 good to see another Canadian in the mix you guys are going to have the time of your lives DCL is awsome!

The doorbell just rang - we got our cruise documents!!! I almost hugged the UPS guy - I did my happy dance:banana:  - now it seems even closer!!!

Welcome to the new cruisers! Sorry you have to get up so early.... Maybe a good excuse to see the sunrise?

Documents are coming! Hmmm, wonder if I'll get mine - they only had my PO Box...bet they send both to Shari (Taswira)

Anyway, it's getting closer! I FINALLY got my new passport. I had to replace it as I lost my other one. I didn't want to pay the extra to expedite it, but I WAS starting to get paranoid it wasn't going to come in time. But it's safely here....:cheer2:

Mine is one of the new ones with the chip in it. Now if only it was going to get stamped so I could say I've been somewhere exotic - ha ha.

Yeah - I've been gone most of the day but no sign of anything here yet. For those who received them, did they send them regular postal mail or did they arrive via UPS?

Aurora 76 - I added you to the list this morning but was on my way out so had to wait until now to say WELCOME! :thumbsup2

oh Gawd thanks a lot for reminding me!!

Hahaha!

Nothing says "Happy Last Day of the Cruise" like getting up at the butt crack of dawn to clear customs!!

I can honestly say it's my least favourite part of the trip!! (Well, that, and going home again.... :sad2: )

Can't wait! It's getting soooo close. I'm doing the countdown at work here -- only 11 more work days!! YAY!!!

Mrs. explorer, I didn't know you were expecting, congatulations!! You probably said somewhere on this thread about that, (I have been told by DW that I am not the swiftist man alive when it comes to retaining information). So you will be doing the virgin drinks on this cruise. That's okay as this is not at all like Carnival (or the booze cruise) we were on once, we definitly like DCL for that, as we are barely even social drinkers ourselves.

I agree about the last day on-board, everyone is worn out and I keep thinking the CM are saying, "get off this ship we need to bring some brand new happy people on-board to liven this place up, please don't let the door slam you in the butt on your way out!!"

But we are a long way from that.

Two weeks from Wed. is our departure date, down to 16 sleeps!!

In the "for what it's worth" department, it appears our cruise is not sold out (at least as of last night). When I did a generic reservation inquiry (family of 4, two adults, two kids) the only rooms to choose from were cat's 4, 5 and 8.

I am guessing that a Cat 7 would not come up because it only sleeps 3 people. I looked at that the other day too and noticed that their was only 1 cat 5 available (at least that was what came up). We went on our 1st cruise last year at this same time, the ship never seemed over crowded - I think even if the ship is "booked" DCL does a good job at providing so many activities that nothing seems "crowded".

All I keep thinking about is that first drink in my hand at the sailaway party - YUM!

I just searched for our date on DCL but only entered as one passenger. It comes up with availability in Cat 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11 and 12. Strange, because all those cats were not available recently. People must have cancelled.

either cancellations or moving to other dates - or maybe its the amount of kids on board too???

It could be the number of kids, but that isn't usually a problem in late January/early February. The reason I am thinking cancellations is because all those rooms were not showing as available when I checked last month. Whether cancellations or changing dates, if they did it this close to sailing, there would be a large penalty.

FYI: Navigator Verandah room 7628, which we were booked in before our FL Resident upgrade, is still showing as available. Someone may end up being offered an upgrade to it. Just a heads-up - - Apparently they never fixed the raised metal "bubble" (a sort of large area beneath the carpet near the foot of the bed by the wall and the bathroom) that developed during the Magic's dry dock a couple of years ago. I was on the first sailing after that. I guess they have no way to repair it. So don't let the "popping" in the floor when you step on it alarm you - LOL. (I know Holly - You are GLAD we don't have that room anymore!)

:rotfl: Not to worry -- I think this time, it might not be your fault for not noticing -- I don't think I'd mentioned it on the thread before. My DH is usually the one who posts on here!

I'm okay with the virgin drinks -- I've already checked it out and the Konch Kooler will still be good without the rum! Though, I will miss riding Expedition Everest when we go to WDW before the cruise! Oh well...I can live vicariously through my DH this time! ;)

Getting really excited! We leave 2 weeks from today! YAY!!

That's OK - all the more room for us.... My documents arrived by UPS and so did my MIL's in another city.
