January 23, 2010 Sailing with Mickey on the Magic! **The Crusin' DISers**

We'll have to put together a list for meet and greets (one for all of us and one for us who'd like the kids to meet)...has this been done? It would be nicei f we could get it posted up in thread 1 with info on the FE's, magnet exchange (numbers participating etc. etc). I sooo can't wait for this!

I have a running list on the web site, in the Fish Extender section. Let me know if you all can print it out...it should work, I hope?!

Running DIS'er List

All the links are up on post #2.

Let me know if there's anything else I should do or if anyone has any questions.

Some of you may not know this yet, although the veterans surely do :goodvibes, but you can link your dining with someone. For example, if you have developed a relationship with someone on the DIS or if you have children the same age, you can request that DCL seat you together at dinner in the dining rooms. The smallest table seats 4 people and the largest seats either 10 or 12.

You will need the other person's reservation number, as well as your own ;) Call DCL or your travel agent and ask them to "link your dining". You'll have to have the same dining time already, as they may not be able to change that.

Those men! I didn' ask mine. But, I know I am limited to what colors he will wear. I went to Joann's & Michael's today. both had the shirts for $3.99.

Joann's were 1/2 off today, so I bought some. Lots of colors to choose from. They had a very good selection. They were out of DD size, but I bought one and will take it back later. I chose the royal blue for us. I think we should all just get the colors we like. Other than our meet & greet, it needs to be something we'll all wear again. My DD's is so big, if I can't find her correct size, I'll be re-designing it some how.

Checked on the photo transfer paper. Believe it or not, Target had it for 1/2 the price of the other two stores. They had 5 or 10 sheets (can't remember) for $10.99. Way cheaper. But, I did Target first, so will have to go back and get it.
I also got my supplies to make our FE gift. Excited to get that started too.

That's all for now!
Shelly

I went out today and got 4 of the 6 shirts we need along with the iron on transfer paper. We are going to be royal blue. They did not have 2 of the sizes I needed so I will go to another location and give it a shot. If not I will just get those shirts in another color choice.LOL

If anyone wants to link with us PM me. We will have 5/6(depending if dh goes) at ED.

For those who want to get started I do not have a blank name tag yet but here are the links for two different threads you can request designs from. They both do name tags. If you think of something else you would like to do as opposed to a name tag they can accommodate you. They do great work. Have fun and let your imagination run wild!!!

Remember the main design that will go on the shirt is posted a few times a couple of pages back. Colors are your choice just be sure to post what color you will be wearing so it can be kept track of. I will post the blank name tag when I get it. As for instructions, the iron on transfer paper you can get at a craft store or walmart/target has them and they are pretty simple (just be sure to get light or dark colors transfer paper, depending on your color choice). I think I covered it all. MaryKLady….. Can we get a copy of what all is being done regarding shirts on the website??

Hey there TraciM and the rest of the Cruisin' DISers!!!! I just wanted to pop in and say hello and pass on some information.

Normally, I don't give out blank name tags......but since this one is customized to your group, I will make an exception.

CDCRUISINDISERS2010.jpg

The font I use for the the names is Arial Rounded.

That said...I have no problem customizing as many name tags as you all need. TraciM quoted my name tags thread, but it's probably easier just to PM me with your requests and mention TraciM or Cruisin' DISers, that way I know you want your custom DISign.

Hope you all have a great cruise!!!

[I don't have access to it here at work, but I will edit this post tonight and add it here.]

Hi Everyone~
I just picked up my transfer paper. I found the best deal at Target. 5 sheets for $10.98. That price beat Joann's & Michaels. Like previous post stated, be sure you buy the correct one. If you buy dark shirts, you will need the dark sheet transfer and if you do lighter shirts, there is a lighter transfer paper. I found this over in their office supply/notebook area.

Also, just ordered my nametags from Tom. Thanks TraciM for arranging that for us!

What color shirts did you decide on?

Just a quick FYI about dark vs light transfer paper...

Light transfer paper has a transparent background, so the color of the shirt shows through any areas that aren't printed on. Dark transfer paper has a white background, so any areas that aren't printed, show as white.

For name tags I would recommend dark transfer paper. Also, dark paper for your stamp DISign, because of the white in Mickey's face and in the border (unless you're using a white shirt).

Hope this helps you all decide what paper you need for your purposes.

If you're staying at WDW, or want to, before or after the cruise check out these promo codes.

I had already paid my balance and called anyway just to see if they could do anything and they credited me back $330! So worth the phone call.

Thanks for the tip. I am doing 6 dark blue shirts so I got the big pack of transfer paper for dark colors. I was going to post a question about which paper to use for the name tages. You beat me to it.:thumbsup2

We are staying at the Luna Sea Motel in Cocoa Beach...it comes with a free hot breakfast and had good reviews in Trip Advisor.

I got a message from Dreams Unlimited that Disney is offering us an upgrade from a Cat 9 to Cat 6 for $300!!! I checked the website to see what it would cost on our own and it would be just under $1000. I think we are gonna do it........verandah, extra room, sounds wonderful!:woohoo: :dance3:

We went with the Royal Blue shirts.

We are staying at the Radisson in Port Canaveral the night before the cruise.
